The skeleton mishap failed to notice that Len and Ike were only around five cages away. He had become lost in his thoughts that would change subjects randomly. Hollow sockets appeared to be locked onto the eyes of a small Ocelot that sat upright a few feet from the bars. At least he wasn't the only one bored here.

"Kay" the Seer replied shaking Green's hand. "And the little one talking to your girl is Delphine."
Delphine was about to voice a complaint at Rose's fin prodding, but the impressed look on her face suitably mollified the fish-kitty. "Yes." Delphine agreed not finding it strange that Rose should know about Roo, he was a very important plushie afterall, who didn't know him? "He felled in a puddle and gots muddy."

Rabid giggled uncharacteristically and chewed on one of her fingernails.
"You're cure when you're embarassed."
And he always had been, damnit.
"I dunno," Ike shrugged, "It kinda looks like an amradillo to me, but I don't see a whole lot of animals like it."
He placed his hand flat against the cage so as to not get bitten.
"Hellu, pangolin."
"If that b*****d wasn't already dead..." Björn trailed off and snorted again, shaking his head, "Well, a secret for a secret, I guess."
He reached down and peeled back his own sleeves to a point between his elbow and shoulder and flipped them upside-down. This revealed a long scar down either wrist and a slew of burn scars and other small lines covering his hands and forearms.
"I'm pretty good at hiding 'em, hm?"

Julian smiled meekly, unsure how to respond.
"Really?" was all he could say after a minute, infinitely glad she didn't think he was the world's biggest weird-a** pervert.
Lenore blinked, head tilted to one side.
"What's an armadillo?" she asked, watching the pangolin.
The pangolin glanced at the children in mild interest, snuffling at Malachi's hand before yawning, curling up and seeming to fall asleep.
Ethan looked at the scars in mortified fascination, crossing his arms involuntarily.
"You are," he said. His eyes looked slightly wet as he looked up at Bjorn. "How....how did you get them?"
Doll tapped the little bone-boy's head, head tilted to one side in interest.
"Bone," she said, naming her companion clearly. "Whatcha doin'?"

"Pleased to meet you," Green said in what she hoped was a friendly manner, "My girl's named Rose."
A lionness that was situated behind Green snarled at her and caused the poor woman to jump.
Why would Delphine say such things about Woo? Rose blinked in surprise. She may chew on Woo's tail and she might have accidentally lost him once but she was quite positive that he'd never been muddy.
"No," she shook her head and pointed at her chest for emphasis, "Woo is at my home."

"Really," Rabid nodded and smiled, "I'm a goddamned Vampire, what did you expect me to say? 'Oh, God, Julian, you're such a perv never speak to me again'?"
"It's'a...kinda...mousey-thing. It has bunny-ears, though, kinda, and has leathery hard armor stuff on it's back. Kinda the pangolin, but a lot less cool." Ike nodded at his rambling explanation.
"My own stupidity," Björn laughed, his scars meaning almost nothing to him now, "Or, more appropriately..."
"Straight razor," he said as he trailed a finger down the long scar on his wrist...
"Daggers," he nodded as he pointed to the smaller scars...
"And various explosives," he snerked and squeezed his scarred hands, "But I got another that beats 'em all." He smiled fondly at the horrible memory and leaned down, pulling his pant leg up to reveal a thick, hairless calf with a beautiful, swirling Vavvian symbol burned into it. He looked up to Ethan only for a moment as he spoke.
"Branding iron."

Delphine looked at Rose in shock. "Woo is mine!" she said suddenly, "Woo is sposed be at my house." She paused and added, "In the sink."
"Poor things," Kay said motioning towards the lioness. "I can't help but feel a bit sorry for them being caged up like that."
The fish-kitty stared at Rose for a moment wondering how she would have gotten Roo from her house. A horrid idea suddenly came to her and she turned to look at her mother. "Maaahmee!!" She whined loudly, "Did you give Woo to her??" she glared at Kay accusingly, while one hand pointed at Rose.

"Well...kinda," Julian admitted. "It just didn't seem like something I'd normally...hell, not that there's anything wrong with it. I just didn't expect I'd react that way. I thought it'd creep you out, that's all."
"Ooh...huh. Neat. Sounds like a mutant," Len said, wishing the pangolin would get up and do Pangolin-Things. Watching it sleep was hardly exciting.
Listening in the same mortified fascination, Ethan's eyes rested on the brand scar longest.
"If you don't mind my asking," he said eventually, "what does...what does that symbol mean? Why did they brand you?"
He looked at the brand and felt a vaguely vicious anger well up inside. Who ever had done that...he wished he could get back at them for it.

"Naaaah," Rabid made an exaggerated dismissing motion with her hand, "You're too normal to creep me out." She paused for a moment, thinking over what she had just said, before beginning to laugh.
Ike furrowed his brow at the boring pangolin and whistled like he had learned to do for Shivali. Myabe it would wake up.
Maybe it would tear his face off.
Either way, it was something
"Roughly translated, 'f*****t'," Björn pulled his pant leg down with his boot as he said the word, "More accurately, 'homosexual unfit to live'. Vavvians aren't that eloquent, though."
He snorted.
"Pretty sure that explains the 'why'."

Osso started out of his boring reverie and looked boredly up at who ever had poked him. Or..er...what ever had poked him. The girl looked different from anyone he'd ever seen, though he looked pretty odd himself.
"I'm, uh, just watching the um," he gave a quicky glance at the name sign," ocelot...You?"
(( Assuming Doll had poked Osso.

Julian grinned.
"I choose to take that as a compliment," he said, feeling strangely unburdened now that he'd finally admitted the...well, whatever that strange "interest" was. He didn't feel so self-conscious now, at least.
The pangolin opened an eye and gave an unimpressed snort, yawning widely and obviously before curling into a tight, scaly ball. It wanted peace and quiet, dammit.
"Hey, cool. Pangolin-ball."
Ethan made a sound of disgust and shoved his hands into his pockets, looking angry.
"That's disgusting," he said. "Because you're different, they...zhekt!"
Hissing a particularly evil-sounding Rijani curse, he shook his head slightly.
"I'm sorry they did that to you. You did nothing to deserve that," he said, glancing up at Bjorn. And I'm sorry I can't do anything to help get back at them for it...
Doll brightened.
"I'm watching the boy beside the ocelot cage," she said cheerfully. Kneeling down so that she and Osso were at eye level, she smiled. "My name is Doll. It is nice to meet you, Ocelot-Watching Boy."
((Doll has not only poked him, she's gotten a bit of prodding in too.
*ANGORA GOATS* Beat that. I dare you.))

"Freakin' pangolin," Ike laughed slightly, "Silly-looking littler bugger, inn't it?"
Björn was actually fairly surprised that he hadn't gotten an 'oh-ehm-jesus, you're GAY?!' out of Ethan. That was the usual reaction, after all. "Welcome to the wonderful world of Mei-Vaar," he nodded and half-smiled, "but thanks, kid."
"...and feel special!" he added as an afterthought, "Only other person who knew about any of these died 3 years ago." He nodded and crossed his amrs, once again sending his scars into hiding.

Being at the Lions cages, Nomi over heard little bits and peices of tiny voices speaking of something called "Woo". He looked over growing curious and walked a bit closer. He smiled when he saw the toddlers, the bunny one chewing on a kangaroo plush. Both babies sparked his curiousity and he gradually made little steps to get closer to the babies and their parents.
Chii still frantically searched for her son, but to no avale. She was way to short to see over anyone here. She could easily be mistaken for a child.

Getting the feeling the pangolin wasn't going to be doing much else, Lenore tugged at Malachi's sleeve and pointed to the next cage.
"Pallas cat," she read aloud, then glanced into the cage. A particularly poofy and rather harmless looking cat looked back, and snarled at her. Lenore yelped and crashed back into Malachi.
"CAT," she said clearly, scooting behind Malachi and peeking at the cage from over his shoulder.
Still looking a bit angry, Ethan nodded in response.
"You're welcome," he said, shrugging off the anger as best he could. Nothing could be done about what happened to him now, unfortunately. "Special? Heh...I guess I am now, then. Thank you."
Feeling slighty better about himself that he'd shared his secret and gotten to learn something in return, he grinned at Bjorn.

Ike had completely forgotten that Len didn't like cats.
"I won't hurt yah," Ike smiled, but refused to put his hand against the cage. This particular cat looked angry.
"How 'bout we go get some candy or sum'm? My mum gave me some gold to spend."
"No problem," Björn said, laughing uncharacteristically (as in "not at the misfortune of others"), and the looked around, "Not much to do here, hm?"
