It's like AP, it's just slightly higher level work. Very few schools in America have it.

No, I know what the International Baccalaureate is. I just wasn't aware that there was a pre-IB.
And I haven't heard of any pre-APs, either.

We have a "pre-IB" thing, methinks. Sort of. It's called MYP. Middle Years Program.

And I haven't heard of any pre-APs, either. In Highschool [9th and 10th grade.] we get Pre-IB and Pre-AP, then in Senior High [11th and 12th grade.] we move up to just IB and AP. Does that help any? [Kudos for being able to spell it by the way. I can never remember.]

Yeah. MYP is for 9th and 10th graders. I guess your school just has a different thing to call them? MYP is pretty much a program for students that are in the Honors classes but must do certain extra projects and I think community service. Meh. I don't know about the pre-AP thing though. We just have a practice DBQ in the Honors class in 9th to help us "prepare" for APUSH.
SUGGEST BOOKS FOR ME TO READ FOR MY IRP. <3
I'll look at them and pick one. =)

I hate DBQs, they're a nuisance to deal with.
I'm reading Daughters of the Moon since it's so boring in Art. -.-
