The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
It's about a shepherd boy named Santiago who travels from his homeland of Spain to search for treasure in Egypt. Without giving too much away, Santiago meets a strange Gypsy woman, a man who thinks himself king and an alchemist--all who point him in the direction of this treasure.
It's only 167 pages, but a very good read nonetheless.

That book, The Alchemist, is my twin brother's, Alec's, favorite book. He is always re-reading it.

Wizard of Oz, by L. Frank Baum. Talk about returning to your roots... It's not exactly the most advanced read out there, but I've had the book since I was a little girl, and whenever I feel crappy, I like to take it out and look over it.

hum, the last book i read should suffice.
Chaise by Becci Noblit Goodall
twas amazing in a really weird way. it's one of those books that made me angry. at the end i was like "thats it?" but...on a second thought, i don't think it needed more. i think the point was made.
"I resolve to sit down on my couch and never get up. Please don't call."
the main character is...tragic, and yet totally content with herself. it's pretty much amazing.
