Speaking of random things, I want to pick back up where this left off (sorta).
Escalla i've beaten ff6 many many times ~_^ it was originally released for the snes. so it does have limited graphics, but that doesnt kill the game for me. i do member watching the beginning of the game for the first time with my brother and how in awe we were of the awesome graphics ~_^ how times have changed. i've beaten ffx as well. i adore that game. i'm currently playing ff12 like the uber dork i am. havent played it today though *shudders* i think i'm going through withdrawals. ff5 was cause it was job based but oddly so. i was able to play it when i bought ff anthologies cause it had ff6 in it >,< didnt get very far. i've beaten ff4 too! that's a cool game. people actually get killed off from your party. ff1 and ff2 not so great. i have them both for the gameboy advance and its like 'do what you're told' and thats about it.not much story and stuff. never played ff3. i've beaten ff9 but i beat it like 2-3 years after i originally played it. i did so showing mandi what the game was like saying 'i probably wont beat it now' and ended up doing so. i hated the magic drawing system of ff8 cause i'm not patient enough to do that. i'm all about the hack and slash. uhh i think i rambled enough about n on youtube topicness. oh! i totally forgot to comment about kefka. favorite. villian. ever. he's great >,< i love his evil laugh. ah kefka you make all other ff badies look like wusses.
FF: I loved FF1. I played it when it first came out (well, I watched the older kids play it). I never remembered the name of it, though. When I played Final Fantasy 7 for the first time, I had wondered what all the other FF games were like. Couple of years later, I stumbled across my brother. He had the first FF game. I bought it from him for $5. I took it home to play it, only to find out that I had already known about the game. I remember seeing it beaten before (I remember the end game boss is named Khaos). I don't know how to use the magic system correctly, though. At a certain level, the magic spells don't work.

I think I did find out a couple of ways of defeating that boss. I went to this link. It was very helpful. I didn't use a walkthrough until I reached the tower. That's unusual for me, so I'm a bit proud of the fact that I discovered so many hidden items on my own. Even this link didn't reveal the way I would've gotten Ragnarok. (It's the same way I got Ultima, but I had to pick between Ragnarok and Ultima.)

www.gamefaqs.com is the best place to get guides and walkthroughs for any game. thats where i go to get my guides til i buy the actual guide myself. i have the ff6 guide around somewhere >,< but if i'm thinking of the right place for the tower, everyone there can use magic? did you try to have everyone w/ reflect? i'm pretty sure there's an accessory you can get that has reflect built in. also, the first time i beat it i had terra at level 80 cause i used to her help level up my weak people. that and you cast life 3 or whatever and people come back to life. there might be an accessory that's like that as well. cant be sure of the names for them.
and the hint using osmose wouldnt really work @_@ cause you cant use magic and osmose is a magic spell. unless they dont count it cause you dont use any mp for it.
i love the fact that the instant i saw the random rpg thread up i knew it was going to be us talking about ff! but yeah, when all else fails go to www.gamefaqs.com. its a god among guides and walkthrough thingies. just click on what platform you're playing the game on (like snes or ps) and just look up the game alphabetically. i think you might be able to just search for it but i tend not to have to cause ffxii is on the top of the faq lists right now ~_^ but they have other games there.

I didn't know who Locke from Final Fantasy 6 was at first. I only know my characters by the names I gave them:
Cyan - Lexus ('cuz it sounds cool and foreboding)
Locke - Amick (named after Joe Amick... someone I know in the Army)
Edgar - Caesar ('cuz he's royalty)
Sabin - Keiser - ('cuz he's royalty and twin to Caesar)
Gogo - Enigma ('cuz this character is an enigma)
Setzer - J.J. (named after me)
Terra - Nami (named after me)
Relm - Jesse (named after me... what can I say? I'm my best friend.)
Mog - Mog (Mog is sufficient. Mog represents for all the hardcore Moogles.)
Shadow - Malice (it seemed to fit him.)
Celes - Kiera (named after my sister)
Gau - Donnie (named after my brother)
Umaro - Barin (it sounded better than "Umaro" to me)
I almost forgot... Strago - Henry (named after my grandfather)
I'm starting to get their original names down pat, though.
Kefka... I had seen pictures of him before I played this game, so I thought he was just going to be some manatical guy trying to take over the world. I realized... He's not just ANY manatical guy taking over the world. He looks odd, but no one is ever stupid enough to laugh at him. His looks only make it so his fearsome personality won't be noticed at the outset. Maybe that's why Gestahl trusted him.
I'm playing Final Fantasy 5 (American 2) now. In another thread, I said I wasn't impressed with it. It turns out that I wasn't talking about Final Fantasy 5. I guess I meant 4? I haven't played 5 yet, but it seems pretty fun so far.
Which one has Ex-Death as a villain? (I'll go look it up on Google... or look at my saved games.)

Yes, XDeath was in FF5. I'm surprised that you don't like the American FF2. I love that game and have played it on every system that it came out on (except the non-english versions).

hehe i own ff4 (is has tellah and cecil and rosa in it) on the gba! i heart that game >,< i own it on the ps and snes. even though technically i dont own it on the snes matt does.

I've mixed myself up. I have an emulator for Final Fantasy 2. I thought from the graphics that it was not in fact the true Final Fantasy 2 (The one with the main character being Cecil, the Dark Knight). I clicked on Final Fantasy 5 and it is the ExDeath one (I think).
The ExDeath one is the one I don't like. It may be because of the crappy translations. I've never played the original. The only ol' skool original I've played is the very first Final Fantasy.
I've played Final Fantasy Mystic Quest, but it seems so similar to other RPGs that I've forgotten the plot. I went and defeated it again (I have a save before the final boss) to see if I could remember it, but I don't.
Mebbe I've just played too many RPGs almost around the same time era. i can proudly say i've never played mystic quest! i've watched matt play it but my first rpg ever was ff2 on the snes.
