I've got an idea to spice up battles a bit. We could use the dice already given to us in Gaia's posting system to determine if an attack hits and how well it hits, and to determine if effects from a move are successful or not, among other things.
Just a simple example, if people like the idea I'd gladly post up a more complex chart.
Simple Attacks - Roll one six sided die. 1 is a miss. 2 is 25% damage. 3 is 50% damage. 4 is 75% damage. 5 is 100% damage. 6 is 150% damage. (Critical Hit)
Low Accuracy Attacks - Roll one six sided die. 1 is a miss. 2 is a miss. 3 is a miss. 4 is 50% damage. 5 is 100% damage. 6 is 150% damage. (Critical Hit)
For attacks that apply an effect on chance, like Poison Sting, we could say that if a 5 or 6 is rolled the target is Poisoned. In the next post a second dice could be rolled to determine how many turns the target is poisoned and how many rounds.
Roll two six sided die. First die. 1 is a one round effect. 2 is a two round effect. 3 is a three round effect. 4 is a four round effect. 5 is a five round effect. 6 is a six round effect. Second die. 1 is 2 damage/turn. 2 is 4 damage/turn. 3 is 6 damage/turn. 4 is 8 damage/turn. 5 is 10 damage/turn. 6 is 12 damage/turn.
For effects that don't do damage over time, you'd do the same thing but with only one die. If this idea is widely accepted within the guild I will post a full complex chart.

I don't think it's THAT complicated. rolleyes Seriously, it's pretty simple. All it takes is some 6th grade math... I'll do an example in this post. Let's say I'm doing a basic attack that has 20 damage.

Okay, I rolled a six. So 150% of 20 is 30, so the attack would do 30 damage.
