Quixana - The Boy Who Wanted To Learn What Fear Was and Faithful John and The Three Snake-leaves

Suggestions for others:

Anemone - The Little Mermaid (being more the Sea Hag than the mergirl, of course - and we're talking the PROPER HCA version, too.)

Nisha - The Princess Who Never Laughed, Frau Holle

Declan - The Brave Little Tailor

April - Clever Elsie, Fitcher's Bird

Lysium - The Juniper Tree

Althalus - Tom Thumb

As for Annie's:

The Little Mermaid (the Sea Hag)
The Sea Maiden (the Mermaid)
The Magician's Apprentice (the Magician)

For Sonya:
Little Red-Cap/Little Red Riding Hood (Although rather it should be green. ;D)
Sleeping Beauty
...aaand... hmm... any suggestions for number three? <3

-raises hand- I still need help. Desperately. xd I can link to my quest thread if anybody needs more details beyond the fact that Laron lacks a conscience, is all impulse driven, and his name means "thief." lol

EDIT: A friend suggested Ali Baba and the 40 thieves...it's not perfect, but I could live with that. smile

Are we not going to have a category for pixel artists? I just thought of that. I mean, the prize wouldn't need to be as high as for full CG or something, but I think it'd be nice to have.

You could even do restrictions, like "no avatar edits" if you didn't want that kind of thing. Or whatever.

Hmm, Laron is a hard one! There's the Bluebeard story? Although that might be a little too grisly. And Puss in Boots has acquired the same kind of rogue implications over time. XDD Although... there is the fact that he's a cat. There are always fairy tales/fables/myth from different cultures too. Like Coyote, or Anansi or Loki, all the tricksters?

Nya. Sable is killing me. >< I have her back story but I cannot find a story that would relate to her at all. Anyone want to help? biggrin

Back story involves theivry and framing an innocent. Sable is a cry baby while prison is a cocky badword x3. -searches- maa.

Having gone through dozens of fairy tales, finally I found one I like!

Third - The Golden Bird The Water of Life (that variant is even more suited, why didn't I try using Wikipedia sooner??)

How about The Goose-Girl? Handmaid steals horse and handkerchief from beautiful princess, sets her up as the goose-girl and frames her for a bunch of stuff (generally being smelly). Also involves hanging horses' heads, but that's icing on the horse-head cake.

Or you could try the Seven Swans, which - at the crux of the story - involves a girl who has sworn not to speak and becomes a queen, and her evil mother-in-law taking her babies away and faking their deaths (and framing the queen for the 'murders').

Does anyone have any ideas for Fray and Lav? x_x;; I know no one knows his backstory, but I'm so very bad at fairytales.

Raya, let's see. Hmm. Thomas the Rhymer is probably pushing it but what about - Twa Bonny Swans? Morbid little number involving a harp made from the breastbone of a murdered/betrayed princess that points the finger at the false sister. The Bremen Town Musicians? The Ravens? Which is a version of The Seven Swans, actually (because no one can leave a good archetypical motif alone).

There are about three million versions of the Swans. So painful. gonk

I can't think of anything for Elias >.> Is there a fairty tale/fable involving a martyr of sorts? Habi could be something like "Simple Simon" or some other fairy tale/rhyme involving lots of mistakes... if Enid Blyton stories are considered she could be "Fiddle-dee-dee the Foolish Brownie" XD
