"VAN!" Ciara yelled once she scrambled back to the surface of the water. "You're horrible! Are you trying to kill me?!" She snapped at him with her arms tightly crossed, which she did to both show her anger and to try to subdue her shivers.

Van laughed some more, "I don't think that a little water is going to kill you babe." He took in a deep sigh and finished the last of his laughing.

"I could drown!" Ciara protested, still standing there looking rather pathetic.
"Fine!" She then declared with that burning fury that she so often had in her eyes. "I'll just leave since you don't care."

"Woah babe, let's not get too hasty here." Van was caught off guard with her remark. The last thing he wanted was for her to leave him. "It was all in fun, if something had started to happen you know I would have gone in after you. I love you too much to let you die." Van had just answered his own problem, if he just let Ciara go with Kyoko then she might as well be dead if Van didn't try to get her back.

"You really mean that?" Ciara asked him, the playful anger having completely disappeared from her voice. She was being genuine at that moment, something that she had only begun to do upon meeting Van.

Van smiled at her, "Of course I do babe. How else could I say I loved you if I didn't?" Every thing started to make sense, he loved Ciara therefor he should at least try to save her even if it meant his own life.

"You love me?" Ciara asked, as if she had just heard those words for the first time. "Oh, I don't think so." She then added teasingly. "If you loved me you wouldn't be so far away from me right now... Apparently you don't want to be close to me."

Van moved in and placed his hand on the small of Ciara's back pulling her close to him. His finger seemed to tingle upon touching her skin. "You were saying?"

"That still doesn't prove you love me." Ciara said to him teasingly, wondering how far she could make him go. Corrupting people had always been something she did ever so enjoy doing. "Besides, you only came closer because I said so. It wasn't voluntarily."

Ciara was messing with him again, he had gotten to where he could tell when she started to try again to fool him, he just simply smiled and kissed her.

Ciara returned the kiss for a moment, but then pulled away being the tease she was. "What you think a kiss will make me let it go?" She questioned him, acting as if she found the thought rather funny. "You silly boy... I really should just leave..."

Van thought for a second trying to figure out what it was that she wanted him to do. She was playing with him wasn't she? He was starting to panic in his mind trying to figure out what it was that would prove his love to her, all while keeping a cool exterior, "Name whatever will prove to you that I love you and I will do it in a heart beat." He didn't move his hand afraid that she would slip away as soon as he let go.

"So you need me to tell you what to do?" Ciara asked him, proving a point merely by saying so. "Aw, c'mon Van, I don't want you to do what I tell you. I want you to do what you want to do."

"What I want to do is run away with you away from your criminally insane mother." Van had said it before he realized what he had said and then he started to regret it right afterwards. I just said that out loud didn't I....CRAP

"My mother?" Ciara asked confused, a bit bothered by the fact he felt the need to say that they had to run away from her. Not only that, but the fact that she was able to hear his thoughts in her mind also made her feel uneasy. How strong were her new powers anyway. "You say that as if there is a reason to run from her... What aren't you telling me, Van?"
