I have to say that is the most... what's the right word... unexpected thing to hear. Star Wars has always been about the underdogs surviving and upsurping the
higher ones. Luke surviving Vader. Vader killing the emperor. The Galactic Alliance defeating the Vong. And so on and so forth. The Jedi always mangaged to survive the sith. The good always prevails. Why? Because that's the way of the galaxy. No matter how long it takes, Good guys win, bad guys loose, and as always... something prevails. (my own little attempt at humor. Up to you to find the movie)
I was so close to shutting up...
I agree, the under dog does usually win but in all of the cases you've mentioned there are deaths, real ones, of main characters. Against Vader, Obi-Wan, Qui-gon, against the Vong, Chewbacca, Annikin Solo and countless jedi. lets see what deaths we've seen on this thing... hm... erm... Jeral died, that padawan that died in the room...
Besides In the Vader-Luke engagement Vader was only a little more powerful than Luke ((ESB)) and he only escaped by jumping out of an exaust port. He won against Vader in the end once he was just as, if not more powerful.
Guardians vs jedi is like... gods versus ants, or at least thats how its been portrayed.
And dont tell me how the Vong war ends Im still ony about 6 chapters into the last book.
