Ijin_yamazaru I hate the oboe, bassoon, and french horn. I have a reason to hate all of em and that is that when not played "right," these instuments will send shivers up ur spin. I know why ever1 hates us(as in the trumpet section of which I am a member). Its because we are so dang Cocky(at my school at least). This is a good thing too(I've been told). We dont have oboes and bassoon but i dont like the french horn, dont get me wrong i heart the people who play them. The trumpets are very cocky(i should know im one of them) and it is a good thing because it's usually the trumpets who save the band(im my band maybe not yours) with our confident playing. 3nodding 3nodding

actually i did get first chair in just about every clinic i have been too(Execpt sixth and seventh grade) I got first in Lions Band and im supposed to be going to Hong Kong this summer!! So the trumpet never sounds bad its the player!! My BD tells me that I have the best sound he has heard. but he's probably being nice so i dont quit redface

I love the trumpets when they sound good, but none of the ones in my band are any good, except for maybe the cornet player, which everyone considers a trumpet, 'cause it's pretty much the same. There are only two or three good brass players other than me in the band, and that's out of about 18 or 19 brass players.
I used to play trumpet, and I got pretty darn good at it before I switched to french horn. By 'pretty darn good' I mean I didn't sound like crap.

The clarinets (or really one in particular) most of the younger trumpets, and all the percussion. They all can't play, but somehow our band sounds good anyway...

personally i dislike the drummers because they dont have 2 learn the notes or hold their breath! its just simple beats i mean i no the band would be incomplete without them but i still dont think it takes alot of talent! 4laugh

Percussion can be bad or good... it's not so much the beats they have to play, but keeping perfect time and supporting the structure of the rest of the band, while playing. But, seriously, if the percussion in your can't keep in time wiith the rest of the band and the director, then no wonder they'd be the least liked instruments in the band.

Apolyigys *sp?* to french horn players but the ones in my band shame you all. SHAME I SAY SHAME!!!! We have two french horn players and as far as I can tell suck... xp one's a cheerleading prep with the musical understanding of a pea(and one of my best friends has a crush on her ARRRGHHH! Why can't he see she's freaken annoying!), and the other one's a skating loner that's actually better on the electric guitar but refuses to practice. scream French horns are most definetly most hated. 3nodding

Unmei_Ongaku I can't stand our obeos! they are such jerks and they are constantly throwing crap in my tuba and harrasing the whole band. I think they have actually only sat down and played about 2 or 3 times this whole year, AND THAT WAS AT THE CONCERTS! for me its not really the oboe players but the oboe itself whee personally i think it sounds like a dieing duck!!! ninja

I think the Sax is the worst insturment in our band. I mean our saxs in particular sucks. Trumpets are the best!!
