"Famous!" he chirped, waving his arms in the air. He didn't know what famous was, but it sounded like it was in the same ballpark as 'hero,' so that must be a good thing.
Gavin then blinked at the TV. Woah, the hawks were flying now. When could he do that? He had softies like them. Maybe he could do it now, and he just didn't realize.
"Want to fly," he smiled, standing up on the couch. "Softies make hawks fly, yes?"
He was going to jump, and as far as he knew his softies would let him fly. When he launched himself off the couch, though he flapped his wings, nothing happened except that he knocked a few more feathers loose.
Oh yea, and he fell.
((I'll let you people decide what he falls on, since I don't know Hadrian's apartment xP ))

Haki smiled at Hadrian's words, nodding. She felt so proud, knowing that it was she who had made the suggestion. Wow, maybe she would add 'keen observer' to her list of talents!
Still, when Gavin attempted to fly, Haki wasn't really sure if he was serious. Was he actually going to try to... well, fly? In an apartment? She doubted it would work.
And when he fell, it only confirmed her fears.
Wincing, she slipped out of the couch and approached him, warily. What if he started to cry? What if he had hurt himself? Her panicked eyes turned to Hadrian.
It wasn't her fault... right?
It was the TV! Damn the evil TV.

When Hadrian glanced over and saw Gavin take his leap, it was a panicked mage that intervened. Rather then let the boy land on the glass coffee table in front of the tv, his hands slid into a few elaborate gestures that seemed familiar to him.
And Gavin stopped...mid air.
"Gavin!"
Stepping towards the suspended boy, his tone was scolding. Then he reached out, plucking the boy out of the air and putting him down.
"Wait until your older. You aren't big enough to do that, yet."

Realizing that he was--in fact--falling, Gavin put his arms over his eyes and awaited impact with the table, but it never came. Cautiously he opened his eyes to find he was...floating? The softies had worked! Or not...
He wiggled around in the air for a bit, finding he couldn't go anywhere. Well this was no fun. Finally Hadrian had put him down and Gavin immediately climbed back on the couch. He stood so that he didn't have to look up so high at Hadrian.
"When can I fly?"
Oh dear, the infamous 'Are we there yet?' complex was starting, except that in this case it would be a 'Can I fly NOW?'
Gavin looked at Hadrian with hopeful eyes.

Haki stared. What was Hadrian doing? Whatever this was, it was fantastic. She looked at Hadrian as well, relieved that Gavin was alright, but wanting to repeat that experience.
She wanted to fly too.
"Hadrian make us fly?" she asked, hope in her voice. What he had done had made Gavin float, if only for a little while. And she wanted to float too! Maybe it would be like swimming in the water, except without someone holding you afloat and none of that 'don't breath under water' babble.

"When you get bigger."
Firmly spoken, but Hadrian didn't yet realize what sort of trend Gavin was starting. And it was a good thing, because otherwise he would have strangled someone in frustration - especially with his hang over.
Then he blinked at Haki, surprised.
Well...
If it would keep them from leaping off furniture to near death experiences, he supposed he could do it for a bit.
"Only for a little bit."

Bigger. What did that mean? Did he need to grow an inch or something? This man needed to be more specific!
Gavin sulked a bit, and then Haki asked to fly again.
"Fly!"
He waved his arms as if to say 'me too!' Alright, so maybe this whole floating thing really was a bunch of fun. Especially if Haki was doing it with him, right?
Plus, this would be practice for when he got 'bigger,' whatever that meant.

Bigger?
Woah woah woah! That was too much news at once! She was actually going to get bigger? But what if she got uglier as she got bigger, and people decided they didn't like her, and no one wants a big girl to rule the world?
What if she turned out like barney?
But his next words, and Gavin's, distracted her. "Fly!" she said, nodding with excitement. She knew in the future that while Gavin might be able to fly, she didn't have any of those extra parts.
(Although she did make a note to make Gavin take her flying)

Sighing, Hadrian rubbed at his forehead.
"Alright, stand on the couch. For future reference - don't ever do this without me, and don't stand on furniture unless I say we're going to do this."
Gods, that would be just what he needed...toddlers leaping off of furniture left and right. Their parents would kill him.
And Remi just might kill him anyway, since Gavin had just figured out he might be able to fly one day.

Remi would only kill Hadrian if Gavin managed to actually succeed at flying.
However, being that Remi wasn't here, Gavin hurriedly prepared himself for another launch. He was already standing on the couch, so all he had to do was bend his knees and jump right? He didn't bother waiting for Hadrian's signal. He just wanted to jump off right now.
With a loud "Wheeeee!" he jumped as high as he could off the couch. Flying time!

On the couch? This was so evil! Delighing in the fact that she got to do something Marc never let her do back at home, she did so, complying and watching as Gavin launched himself off.
Wait. Weren't they supposed to wait for some signal? Like... go! Or jump! Or prepare to die! ?
Still, not wanting to be outdone, she leapt after him, flapping her arms in the reflex of a girl who realized she had just jumped off a couch. If this didn't work, and Hadrian didn't do his strange cool stuff in time...
ouch.

With a few quick motions, Hadrian averted the disaster; and the two children were floating in midair.
"Gavin! Haki!"
A bit peeved. Just a bit.
Because he had suddenly gotten a mental image of him and Marc enjoying a romantic evening, then Haki racing out and diving off of furniture. Oh lord, Marc would kill him.
"Do not do that again! You wait for my signal. I will tell you when to jump. If you do that again, I'm never going to do this again ever."
Hopefully, he wouldn't have to live up to that. Because one of Haki's big eyed looks at him, and he'd melt.

Gavin winced. They were making Hadrian angry. When the only thing suspending you in mid-air above a very painful looking glass table was a peeved mage, it's generally a good idea not to make them even more angry.
"Sorry," he apologized, flipping himself upside-down to face Hadrian. "I wait next time."
Maybe he would, maybe he wouldn't. It all depended on what his selective memory decided to remember that day. Still, being upside-down was fun. He shifted himself toward Haki.
"You look funny from this way."
It also could have something to do with the fact that the blood was all running to his head--in fact his face was starting to turn quite red--but all he could figure was that he was starting to get dizzy.

Haki stared. What was the worse that could happen? Deciding that she would need to regale her father with stories of their trip the next time she saw him (and hoping that she didn't forget before that) she nodded her head. "Okay, next time." she promised. Next time she'd wait for his signal.
Hey! Maybe she could jump off the tallest building and he could catch her! She had a feeling the jump would be more exciting then what she was doing now. While this was fun, there was something slightly frustrating about being stuck in mid air.
Was flying like this too?
She watched Gavin's antics, and giggled. Using her arms as she might have under water, she flipped herself too, keeing her skirt from falling over her face by pushing it up.
"Gavin look silly." she said, rolling around.
Hey, this was fun!
How come Hadrian didn't spend most of his time floating??

Shaking his head at Gavin with a bit of amusement (only a bit), Hadrian offered a bit of advice to the boy.
"Stay right side up."
He didn't want to deal with the little boy passing out, and regaling his mother with that tale. No mother would appreciate that their child had passed out when he was playing with them.
It was exactly glowing credentials.
