Poppetta oh well, say no more, Flash is more trouble than it's worth sometimes.. Most technology is more trouble than it's worth sometimes, imho! sweatdrop Rue, why are you getting prompted to install Flash in order to upload a picture from your camera? I'm confused. The camera should have software to do that, and if you've misplaced it, try looking for it online. good luck!

It does have software and it's what I'm trying to open to run the program that takes the pictures from the camera.

WickedLemon I'm not sure what's up with it. It's telling me I need macromedia flashplayer which I have. I even uninstalled and reinstalled it like 3 times. I'm going to uninstall the software for my camera either this evening or at some point this weekend and see if that works. I'll tell you what I did when I couldn't install my software...try http://picasa.google.com/ ... if you can install a driver for your camera and connect it (or insert the memory stick, whichever way) and you can import thru that

Ok, lets see if this works. I got my software to work but I'm gonna keep that site Jaz listed just incase. This is the best of the three I took. It has the least glare on it. The plastic is sealed on it until my boss gets the frame for it.

Sure, if we ever get it into a frame I will do that. Maybe it won't have that glare on it then or I will learn how to turn off the flash.

That reminds me, I told my sister what I wanted from her for my birthday was something nice to hang on my wall, so today she made me prints of her two paintings/chalkworks she made that are hung in her house, and once I frame them I can stick them up! I'll have to take pics and share those here too! It makes it so much nicer when it's by someone you know!

Thanks Randi. I wasn't really happy with it because you can see the lines where the colors meet. I didn't get those to blend well but I did have fun. Of course we had a picture to follow. I don't think I could do it on my own.

I don't think I could do it on my own. I couldn't do anything like that out of my own head either. I always have to have something to look at and follow! At Macaroni Grill this weekend (they have paper table cloths and crayons) I started sketching Jason as he was drawing designs on the table. He got embarrassed and started changing his pose as I drew. I didn't get very far and only got a basic outline before the food came, but it's always good practice!

artistic news bulletin: EVERY artist uses reference material from which to work. Those who have transcended the need to use immediate reference material for each and every piece have YEARS and YEARS of very detailed experience capturing their subject and have trained themselves extremely thoroughly in capturing every minute detail accurately in their head. It is the kind of "seeing" and understanding that can not easily be put in words. These artists also tend to focus on one subject (ie: just portraits, or just horses, or just whatever), and do not tend to do much beyond their chosen subject. You simply can Not create a believable* piece without understanding your subject, and the best way to understand it, is to actively, intentionally, and intently LOOK at it.
*BTW, notice my use of the word "believable", above. This does not necesarilly indicate "realistic". Believable is the less tangibles, like having the fruit look like it's actually sitting ON the table instead of floating above it, having an animal look like he's actually running instead of having one or more legs in awkward positions, etc.
Rue, your painting is much better than sooooo many I've seen... I repeat: please continue with it. Especially if you enjoy it!! heart
