Yeine looked at Mayu, then at Ying again, and shook her head. What were they thinking? Or were they even thinking at all? Closing her eyes, she took a deep breath and began to silently count to ten. Maybe by the time she got there- and she was going slowly, just in case- she wouldn't feel like exploding anymore. Maybe.

Quick to recognize what Yeine was doing, Ying didn't miss a beat, instead bending down to Verde's level. "Verde-chan, do you remember where the art room is? Your sister and I want to finish our pictures, but we ran out of paint." Her tone wasn't childish, merely explanatory, and genuinely curious for Verde's opinion. "Do you know where we can get some?"

Okay, so maybe that was a "no". Mayu turned her attention to Verde as well, hoping that she could maybe get an answer out of her younger sister. Her face drooped slightly as she realized that Verde was attempting to pay them no attention --- and doing quite a good job, in fact.

Verde kept her eyes fixed on the uniform which she was currently folding, not wanting to get involved this time. They were probably in enough trouble, what with sneaking out and causing an entire paint war --- she didn't want the burden of graffiti on her shoulders too. She gave no response, simply a little shake of her head which could be interpreted as a "no".

At least one of her companions was sane. Nodding in approval, Yeine tidied her stack of uniforms and picked them up again. "That's right. Now, I think we should get back before the teacher misses you. Or else you won't get to clean up and you'll have to go home like that," she added, the last comment primarily directed at Ying. She knew the Jumi hated being dirty. "So come on."

Nodding solemnly, Ying started to follow. But before she did, she leaned over towards Mayu and whispered in her ear. "Maybe the boys have paint. We can ask!" Then she hurried up, filing in behind Yeine. "Let's go!"

Mayu's mood brightened up, nodding as she followed Ying. She looked over to Verde, who was struggling to pick up her stack again --- and ran over, taking the pile of uniforms into her own arms as she ushered along her younger sister.

Verde was rather glad to have the load taken off her arms, hurrying along quickly now. And she had gotten her way out of trouble, lucky her! To tell the truth, the Jumi actually did know the way back to the art room, but she quite obviously was not going to tell Ying and Mayu. Then their graffiti would be able to be traced back to her, which would be an extremely bad thing.

Unaware of what the others were planning, Yeine marched back to the locker rooms. Luckily, the teacher seemed to have vanished- possibly to see what was taking so long with the uniforms- so they could sneak back inside unseen. "Come on," Yeine said firmly. Even though she didn't especially need to wash, she entered the room herself, to see what Ying and Mayu were talking about. The painting on the wall stared back at her, and the Cathar put her hands to her head. They were going to get into so much trouble! "Yiiiiing..."

"Isn't it nice?" Ying said, following her friend inside. Behind her, however, she waved a hand, trying to signal to Mayu to check next door. She could keep Yeine busy for a moment. Maybe Verde too, if she tried hard enough. "See, this one's mine, and this one is Mayu-chan's. I was thinking of putting a rainbow in next..."

Mayu gave a small nod to Ying, sliding over to the boys' locker room and placing her stack of clothing on the floor besides the entrance as she stepped in. She kept a hand over her eyes, spreading her fingers slightly so that she could find her way, at the very least.

"Hello?" she called, trying to catch someone's attention as she stuck her head into the large locker room from the short hallway leading in.

Verde nodded, a bit idly, having noticed Mayu's disappearance soon after they marched in.

"Lovely," she commented, looking towards the exit. Should she speak up or not? She didn't want to get in any worse trouble, but she also didn't want to make her sister mad at her. What a hard decision..

Just after the door opened, a paint-soaked sponge went flying at it. "Gotcha!" Karan yelled, hoping to see a fellow student, or at the worst, a teacher, entering. Instead, he found something he didn't expect, and blinked in surprise. A girl? And THAT girl, nonetheless. What was she doing there?

Ooooh, it was the pretty tree girl again! Xue wandered over to join Karan, holding a wad of paper towels soaked with water and red paint. What was the girl doing in the room with all the boys? confused

While he asked his question, unsure whether Mayu would even hear it, Xue pulled a towel off the nearest rack and held it out to Karan

"What are you doing here?" Karan demanded. She didn't have any right to barge into the boy's locker room without permission. Scowling, he folded his arms, and upon feeling paint-covered skin contact paint-covered skin, he remembered that he had discarded his soaked and stained sweater some time ago. His surprise mixed with his anger at being caught off guard and turned into sudden embarrasment. Blushing, he grabbed the towel from Xue and draped it over his shoulders.

In the adjacent room, Yeine slowly sat on one of the benches, putting her head in her hands. Like Verde, she faced a conflict. She didn't want to get Ying- or their new friends, or herself, in trouble. At the same time, she just couldn't let such blantant rule breaking happen without doing something. It went against her nature, and the training she had undertaken to become a Jedi.

"Thank you," Mayu replied, catching the sponge with her free hand. That was enough paint to finish her tree and draw something else, at the very least.

"We need more paint," she said, quite bluntly, "Ying thought you guys might have some." And she was right, apparently, from the sponge she was holding in her hand. Best to get that to the Jumi before it dried out. She gave a nervous smile. At the very least, she could get them to attack her with more of these sponges; that would be enough to finish their mural.

Verde sighed, glancing over the mural once more before taking a seat next to Yeine.

"We might be able to wash it off when they're not looking," she whispered, after checking to make sure that Ying would not hear her. If they destroyed the evidence, none of them would get in trouble --- for this, at least.

So she wanted paint. That was no reason to just walk on in a bunch of guys without knocking. Karan knew that if he tried a stunt like that with the girl's locker room, he'd probably get ripped apart. Still, he was tempted to give it a try anyway, if only for revenge.

Thoughts of revenge would wait for a moment. "Just a sec," he muttered, advancing closer to the door. "Aren't you at least gonna say sorry? I mean, you can't just barge in here. And we're not your paint suppliers." The thought of this crazy girl, together with Ying, cheerily painting on the walls, was easy enough to concoct in his mind. But even with the goading from Ying that had to be pushing her, she had to have some self-control. So Karan crossed his arms again, and stared at her pointedly. "We're waiting."

"She'd find out," Yeine replied glumly. "And she'd be mad. She'd get over it, I know, but still. Maybe we should just all get in trouble and get it over with." She wouldn't sell her friend out without taking the rap as well, and maybe if they all worked together, whatever punishment they got would be finished quicker.

Ying, who had been admiring the mural silently, crouched on the floor facing Yeine and Verde. "What are you talking about? Something fun? Something seeeeecret?"

He did have a point. After shuffling around for a bit, Mayu grumbled a reluctant 'sorry'. Now to redirect the conversation back to the paint.

"But still, you have some, don't you?" she said, looking around with what limited sight she had between the gaps of her fingers, checking if the other boys had more of these sponges.

Verde nodded, almost a bit sadly. She was quite reluctant to accept the fact that they would have to receive a punishment --- and possibly clean up all of the messes that they had made. The paintings wouldn't be coming off of the wall that easily, and the little Jumi wasn't suited at all for physical labor. She was a scholar, not a janitor!

Paint? Xue looked at his fingers, which were covered in the stuff, and then towards the back of the room. There was lots of paint everywhere, some of it still wet on peoples clothes and the sponges and paper towels that some of the boys brought in. Xue had even found a small patch of orange in his pocket, which made it sticky. xp

Well, at least she apologized. It was a good start, and Karan might have let her off if she had just left then. But no, she had to start bugging them about paint again. Girls and their silly agendas. Karan couldn't tell what she wanted it for, and frankly didn't care. "We don't have any," Karan said, stepping in front of Xue. "Sorry."
PostPosted: Tue Mar 13, 2007 7:27 pm

Mayu frowned --- she was almost certain that they had more paint! She would have continued to bug them, as well, if the sponge in her hands wasn't already starting to dry out. With a small 'hmph', she muttered her thanks and turned to make her way out of the locker room. She would just have to come back with Ying later, when they used up this bit of paint.

"There are clothes by the door," she called, "not sure if they're too clean, Yeine crashed into Ying outside the gym and there might be some paint on them now." With that, she left the locker room to enter the one right besides the door she had just exited.

Mayu hid the sponge behind her back, not wanting Verde or Yeine to see, though it was probably obvious that she had gone out to find more paint by then. She stepped over to Ying, glancing over her part of the mural with a critical eye.

But there was more paint in the back, why did Kar-

"Not now, Xue." Karan watched evenly as Mayu left, not sure whether to believe her or not. Having clean clothes- or cleaner clothes, at least- would be nice. At the same time, he wasn't willing to go out there and have the other girls laugh at him.

Xue looked at Karan, then tiptoed the door. Xue could check. He didn't care about people laughing at him.

Upon Mayu's return, Ying brightened considerably. "Did you get it?" she whispered, leaning over. Then, in a barely louder tone, "I'm kind of worried that Yeinie and Verde-chan are upset. What should we do?"

Indeed, Yeine was still sitting on the bench, head in hands, wondering what to do that wouldn't lose her best friend, and would keep to her beliefs of wrong and right. Nothing was coming.
PostPosted: Fri Mar 16, 2007 8:21 pm

The pile of clothes was sitting by the doorway, as Mayu had said --- some of the uniforms were spotted here and there with dabs of colored paint, from landing on Ying. Nontheless, they were wearable, and relatively clean.

Mayu gave a silent nod to Ying, checking to make sure that Yeine and Verde weren't looking before she slipped over the sponge. They would get an earful from the two girls, she was certain, if they were caught sneaking paint in.

"Well, we could take the blame for ourselves, but I think what they really want us to do is to wash off the painting..." she pondered for a moment, thinking of other plausible reasons why her friends would be so sulky.

Verde let out a small sigh, glancing over her shoulder at Ying and the newly arrived Mayu. They probably had been sneaking paint in, but the Jumi decided not to say anything, instead turning her thoughts to the situation they were in. How could she get herself --- and possibly her friends --- out of trouble? What a difficult question..

Oh, there are much cleaner clothes! biggrin

Smiling, Xue counted out enough uniforms for what he thought were the number of boys inside, and left the rest outside. They were dappled with paint, but to Xue, that just made them look prettier. And they had to be more comfortable than what everyone was wearing.

Kar, Xue has clean(ish) clothes for everyone! whee

"Wash it off?" Ying whispered back in a horrified tone. "But we worked hard on it!" To some, it might have been a whimsical doodle, but to her, it was an unfinished work of art. It had to be finished. And they couldn't just wash it off without anybody seeing how awesome it was!

Yeine turned to Verde, frowning a bit. "Something wrong, Verde? Other than the obvious, at least."
