Marc looked over and grinned at Hadrian. He arched a brow. It wasn't his fault. The woman kept feeding him reasons to respond the way he did! With a pause, he grinned.
"An author? What kind of subject material do you right that you do it without Gavin hanging around?" he stopped. Oh, well. His mind gave him plenty of answers on what she wrote. "Do you write from experience, or..."
Heh. Sex scenes. That must be it. Maybe a little bit mixed in to what ever serious literature she tried to write?

Shaking his head with amusement at Marc, Hadrian spoke to Remi.
"Please excuse Marc...he has a very one-track mind."
After waiting another few moments, the coffee was ready. Apparently, Marc's fancy coffee machine made it quicker then his own did...well, that wasn't something he was about to complain about.
Pouring some into two mugs, he offered the coffee to Remi and Marc, offering a comment to Marc as he did so,
"Your coffee machine's a lot faster then I'm used to."

"I can tell," Remi smiled at Hadrian nervously. "And to answer your question, Marc, it's very difficult to be creative when a toddler is destroying your home. The only time I can write is when he's not causing complete chaos."
She decided it might be best not to answer the 'experience' part. She never really could write anything like that. Everytime she tried it turned out really cheesy, probably because the only knowledge she had came from trashy romance novels she read in high school. The coffee was ready.
"Oh thank you," she took one of the mugs. Coffee, her elixer of life. She took a long sip.

"Thanks." he tried to look insulted at Hadrian's comment, but he couldn't. "Things are always faster when they're more expensive." he tilted his head, eyes moving to Remi. "You'll always leave my place having experienced something new."
Placing the waffle on the plate, he put in another batch, nodding his head. He had an appetite, Hadrian would need to eat to keep up with Marc and the kids... well. They were kids.
"I'll make a couple more before waking the kids." he said simply. Grinning. "Unless you'd like them to be kept away for a while longer?"
He was always open to new experiences.
Taking a sip of his coffee, he moved around the kitchen to reach the cutlery. Hmm. This was nice.

The corners of his lips turned upwards at Marc's comment, knowing that to be true in more ways then one. It fit into the other man's one track mind, and also into a number of other things...so he couldn't refute that it was true. Every time he came here, he did experience something new.
Drinking his milk, Hadrian reflected on the fact that he was the only one not drinking coffee - which was a bit odd. But then, he normally didn't drink coffee in the morning...typically, it was with his lunch, dinner, random times during the night if he was working late.
By this point, he'd normally had enough coffee that any more wouldn't change anything.
"We could let them sleep a bit longer, at least; they're probably tired."

There could many meanings behind Marc's comment, though she wasn't sure if she wanted to explore most of them. However, as much as this conversation had made her nervous and embarrassed already, she'd be lying if she said she didn't enjoy it just a tiny bit. Then again, it could be the fact that these are the first two men she's talked to outside of work in almost a year.
"Like what?" she ventured, taking another sip of coffee innocently. See? She could do it too, though she wasn't sure why she was egging him on. Then they mentioned kids.
"I agree with Hadrian," she replied, enjoying the lack of general chaos and destruction. "The longer Gavin stays asleep, the less likely he is to wreck havoc. Dacian has a permanent tomato sauce stain on his wall thanks to Gavin flinging spaghettios all over the place."
She highly doubted Marc was the type of person to tolerate stained or destroyed things. Especially if the deed was done by someone else's toddler. The waffles looked as if they were almost ready. That was good, she was hungry.

"Why don't we dig in first, then?" he asked, placing the cutlery on the table. Motioning for Hadrian and Remi to go ahead with the one waffle (how cute. It looked like four hearts put together!) ,he shrugged.
"Dacian, is it?" he realized he hadn't met any of the other mages yet. "Don't know that one. Hadrian's been selfish, keeping me all to himself." The words were almost innocent.
Almost.
"He's one of those, is he?" with a skeptical look around the house, he grinned. "Well, if your Gavin tries that around my house, I'll send you the bill." oh, another waffle was done!
Taking the time to scoop this one out too, he let himself ponder. To say, or not to say?
"And we can decide just how you repay me."

"Oh - that reminds me...you wanted to meet Ahneta. I'll bring her by sometime, since she's returned recently."
Stepping over to the table and taking his section of waffle, Hadrian took a bite. He expected that Marc and the sole vixen among the mages would get along quite well - she was perverted, he was perverted. So long as they didn't get any further then innuendo, he was just fine.
"And you have met Dacian - remember, he was the one that went to meet you that first time? Though from what I hear, you didn't pay much attention..." A teasing tone and a wry smile made it clear how the mage was simply - choosing to ignore certain of Marc's comments.
Shaking his head at Remi and her tale of the stain on Dacian's wall, "Well, at least Dacian's good-natured. And not exactly someone who cares too much about things looking nice - I imagine it's not a big problem with him."

"Ugh bills," Remi groaned as she got up to get her part of the waffle. She didn't want to think about bills. Even though she no longer had to pay rent, she still had to worry about grocery bills, cell phone bills, internet bills, etc. That and taxes.
"That's only if I don't run myself bankrupt trying to repay you for whatever he may do."
She saw Hadrian's head shake at the spaghettios incident and she had to chuckle. As embarrassing as it had been, it had been pretty funny when she looked back on it.
"Yeah, he said he didn't mind," she smiled sheepishly. "I think he'll think twice before allowing me to have dinner with him again, though."
After sitting back down, she took a bite of her waffle and drank the last bit of her first cup of coffee. Wow, homemade was definitely better than frozen.
"The waffles are delicious! So much better than the frozen stuff I would have eaten."

Marc frowned, pausing. Ahne... oh, right! The one who must have some evil, dastardly connections. He was intrigued about that woman utterly and completely. Surely she must be the only sane adult of the group. Dacian being the baby, and Hadrian being... well. Hadrian.
And while Marc considered Hadrian an adult in some ways, in others... well.
He still seemed like a kid.
Grinning, he looked over at Remi. "Enjoying your waffles, then?" he decided to hold back the fact that he couldn't cook to save the life. THAT, was what a personal chef was for.
And he had a lovely housekeeper too.
"Money doesn't interest me, Remi." he said, tilting one brow. He had enough of it. And if he needed more, all he had to do was ask his boss. Which reminded him. One day he would have to introduce Hadrian to Thorn.
Maybe they would hit it off.
"We'll figure out other ways of payment." with a lavicious smirk, he nodded. "I'm glad you're enjoying yourself."
The waffles. He meant the waffles!

While Ahneta very likely could have some 'evil' connections, Hadrian had no idea of it. In fact, however it was that she retrieved money for the compound was completely unknown to him - it was a bit embaressing to admit that he didn't know how they got money, but it was true.
He didn't think Dacian knew either though, so it wasn't as if he was alone.
It was a good thing that Marc had his own cook. Because with Hadrian's expertise was limited to TV dinners, and Haki being only a toddler, they'd need someone who could cook.
"Yes, these are pretty good."

She nodded vigorously about the waffles before taking another bite. A homecooked meal was a foreign, but lovely concept to her. Apparently Hadrian agreed as well. Hell, she'd sneak over to this place more often if it meant more food like this.
Money doesn't interest Marc? She took a quick look around the place, noticing all the very expensive items that she could never possibly afford. She was just happy that her apartment came with free furniture, and that was an upgrade from what she had already. Did this man have a never-ending bank account? Then the smirk with the suggestive comment.
"What, like errands?" Remi asked, raising one of her own eyebrows. She only said this because Gavin hardly ever left a room in the same condition as he entered it. For all she knew, he could be messing up Haki's toys or something.
"Umm, could I have some more coffee? And yes I am enjoying myself, surprisingly enough."
After she got over the fact that they were still in bathrobes, that is. She took another bite of waffle.

Making waffles was easier than he had thought! As the small pile before them progressively grew, he grinned. "Errands could be good. Would you be in costume then? And the things you can pick up..." he turned his eyes on Hadrian. Well. You never know.
Maybe they would need someone to go into the nearest erotic store for... goods. And he didn't think Hadrian was up to something like that, yet.
"I'm glad you're enjoying yourself, Remi." he said, smiling. It was a normal smile, this time. "Please feel free to come in whenever you want. At any time." Innocent? Hmmm. Probably not. "You've seen enough as it is... and it's only our been first meeting."
Maybe Marc should get a camera installed, so that he could call Hadrian up on purpose whenever this woman came about.
"Our door is always open."

In costume?
The confused look Marc got from Hadrian then, made it pretty clear that the mage wasn't following the same mental pathway. That was a given however, as the man had yet to become as perverted as the other.
Give it time, though...if he spent enough time around his lover, it would be inevitable.
At the comment of her seeing enough already, he couldn't hold back the quiet chuckle and an interjection,
"Though that's hardly her fault."

She finished her first waffle and went for another. Damn, these things were good. At the same time she tried to keep her cool, as she was slowly getting used to Marc and his thought process.
"I don't have the faintest clue what kind of errands would require me to wear a costume," she replied, with a very confused look on her face. What was he planning? Dressing her up in a french maid outfit and sending her to the grocery store? Nuh uh, not happening.
Instead she turned her mind to his next set of comments.
"Thanks for the offer," she smiled, starting on her second waffle. "If you have meals like this everyday, you just might be seeing more of me."
She'd have to push Gavin on seeing Haki more often to give her a valid excuse to come back, preferably around dinnertime. She could only imagine what these two ate for dinner if this is what they did for breakfast. She laughed at the comment on seeing enough already. Now that she knew them as Marc and Hadrian rather than two strangers standing half-naked in towels, she wasn't complaining. Now it was her time to smirk.
"You two should be more careful about keeping the door closed when you do that kind of stuff. Or else you get nosy neighbors like me who wander in."
