It's an awesome combo. 3nodding Tenor's a bit difficult for me to play though - I have really small hands and can't reach the low Bb key with my pinky very well. xd So I usually have to play anything lower than a low C an octave up. I would SO play the bari if I could... but that thing weighs, like, more than I do. XDD Well, not quite... but I'm still pretty small compared to it. I doubt I could carry it - I have trouble with the tenor. ^^;; I was too short to play it when I started, so I had a stand to put the base on, and used to pop my pinky out to reach the bottom key. I was desperate to play it.

Miangel Nappy Miangel I would SO play the bari if I could... but that thing weighs, like, more than I do. XDD Well, not quite... but I'm still pretty small compared to it. I doubt I could carry it - I have trouble with the tenor. ^^;; Haha, I get jokes about how big the tenor is compared to me all the time. ^^;; I'm about 5'3" and 90 pounds... there are people in the band who can hold me up with one arm. xd But it's FUN to play a big instrument when you're tiny! ^^

I eat like crazy, too. I heart junk food. I just have like really fast metabolism... plus, I'm in aerobics at school. I got a ride home from the bari sax player today. That guy is out of his mind. xd He drove "British," a.k.a. on the wrong side of the road. It was SO funny.

He's completely out of his mind. xd But he's so much fun. He's a senior, though, and after he graduates he's going to college in Arizona (already been accepted and everything). Band will never be the same. ;_; This is the guy who pretty much single-handedly corrupted the entire sax section last year.

Anyway, I was extremely upset today with our Band/Choir teacher. She told me today that my "ticket" was in the vocal department, and not my instrumental skills. Of course, you can only do All-State Band or Choir, either Jazz or Concert, so you do one each year, and you can only go to All-State our Junior or Senior years. So, when I told her today I wanted to try for All-State Concert Band Bari Sax this year, she got all huffy and told me that. I was ready to strangle her. domokun
As well as that, I must comment on how crazy bari sax players are, seeing as I am one...We all tend to be a little corrupt, a little crazy...and usually more than a little weird. Of course, some of them are boring, normal people, who aren't into band enough to play hard alto or tenor music, so they get slapped on bari. They have no comprehension of how good bari players perform.

Normal people play trumpet. xp Yeah, oboe players are definitely weird. XD I only know one... but she's a good friend of mine and one of the strangest people I've ever met. I wouldn't be so sure about trumpet players being normal though. One of the weirdest guys in our band plays trumpet... and another one of the trumpet players isn't exactly sane, either. (At burrito dinner night, he spread the beans on the burrito with his hands... thank God he had gloves XD). But I think as a whole, saxes are the weirdest section. 3nodding I don't think I've ever met a truly sane sax player....
