I'm back full time!!! My mother finally got internet for me, and has me working around the house like a house-elf (if you'll excuse my harry potter expression) under the threat of, "Oh, alright, I guess i'll jsut cancel that internet then." But it's SOOOO worth it. We got high-speed comcast, which is better interweb than we've ever had before! One small step for me!

Kuri, I lived more on the outskirts of Knoxville, in Powell. There's East Town Mall and West Town Mall, I prefer West Town myself. I haven't lived there for four years though, so my directional sense is not at all good. But I can tell you to watch for blind hills and turns, my dad still lives there and he had me driving all over the place and the roads are a lot different than in michigan. One of the malls has a big movie theater, but my favorite theater is called Tinsel Town and it's pretty big and spifftastic. Um... the library in Oak Ridge is pretty good, a little outdated, but relatively efficient. Sorry I can't be of more help. sweatdrop

Good to have you back! smile Glad things are working out so well. Hopefully things will begin to pick up once I'm more settled and can start initializing some of my ideas for the RPG. ^^

And any information is helpful, even if you haven't lived here in awhile. We're starting to get our bearings now that we've been here a little over a month, and I think that Knoxville is definitely going to suit our needs well. I've been to the West Town Mall a couple of times--it's pretty cool. =D I think the theater you were thinking of is in there. Haven't been to Oak Ridge much. Do you remember if there are there any libraries in Knoxville? Oh, and don't worry about curvy roads, I grew up in Arkansas. Hills and wild curves are pretty common there. ^^

Thank you, kindly. I know of three libraries. There used to be, and I'm not sure if it's still there, a small one in the Powell Plaza on (my mom THINKS) Clinton Hwy. It's not very nice or a good library at all, so I wouldn't bother with that one. There's a gigantic three-story one on Oak Ridge, but I'm not sure what street. There's a nice, yet smallish one near a big huge church and a community pool and a school around there somewhere. I'm not being at all helpful, am I?

But good luck finding your way around. I go there every summer and Xmas and Spring Break and I lived there for 11 years and I STILL don't know my way around. Yet. Muahahahaha.

Thanks! ^^ Once we get the time, I'll suggest to my parents that we go look at some of those.

Actually, navigating around here is really quite simple. We've spent the last four years in Kansas City--you want to talk about impossible to find your way around. Here everything's on Kingston Pike. XD It's cool.

That's cool. rofl I'm coming down there on July 4th weekend next month, and I can't wait. It's pretty hot down there in the summer, but there's this awesome pool whose name escapes me, and i love it.

So are you guys looking for a house or what?

We were, but now we've found one. See Announcements.

RETURN SOON KURI! We're dying here. Heh heh.

Anyway, we should continue rping while Annise is unconscious, and when you can, you should post. If that's alright with you. I'm just SO bored, this is one of my staple rasons to bother getting on Gaia, and now it's not...really...going. Arrgh. Anyways, hope you found a nice house and stuff. Toodles.

So, where's your new house? I live on Grey Wolfe Drive, myself. la-di-da

The new place is in Powell. I'm not sure of the address yet, only thing I can remember is that it's got a lot of 7's in it. sweatdrop

I'm sorry you're bored. Go ahead and continue roleplaying for now, unfortunately even though we've gotten everything hooked up and found both computers, my internet connection is extremely spastic so I can't make any guarantees at all that I'll be online much until we get that handled. (Damn Comcast, always breaking) When I get back though, I will do everything in my power to breathe some life into this poor RPG. Just be patient for a little while longer. smile I appreciate it.

You're in Tennesee know, so look into Bellsouth's internet service. It's cheaper than Comcast, more reliable, and the price decreases a bit if you have a phone plan with them (unless your old calling plan carried over to your new location, at least).

Actually, the problem seems to be fixed for the moment. We might have gone with Bellsouth except that we don't want any phones in the house and Comcast comes with cable. I don't believe Bellsouth does.

So now that I'm back online and have time to start formulating a few ideas, what is it you guys would like to see here in TSW? Any specific changes? Obviously the activity issue is going to be the one most intently addressed, since without activity an RPG is just a useless bit of webspace, but are there any other problems you guys would like to express?
PostPosted: Fri Jul 01, 2005 2:15 pm

I can't think of any issues off the top of my head, but if I do think of any I'll post/PM you with it. I'm glad the move went well and everything is getting back to normal I hope. I'm anxious to get back to RPing. ^_^;

OH EXCELLENT! *does funny yay-kuri-is-back dance*

Anyway, I'm quite happy with this guild. Some of my other guilds are...shall we say...sub standard. But this one is lovely in it's organization and that you take our opinions for just about everything! Huzzah!

Actually, I did think of something. It's just a suggestion, not a complaint or anything, but perhaps, so we could tell which Group each of us are in and change things when needed, we could post our own profiles in the profile/user list thread thing. As long as everyone is responsible and don't abuse the ability to edit our profiles, I think it'd be a pretty cool idea. Maybe we could add pictures, too, optionally of course. Like the doll I made from the candybar dollmaker. Then the others of us who don't have very good visual imaging in their brains can get the gist of each other's characters.

And when we switch groups, we can say it, and then we all know where to check for each person, and Kuri wouldn't have to change it every time one of us added or ditched a character.

Maybe i should post this in the suggestion thread, as well....hmmm....

I understand where you're coming from with this suggestion, but long-term I don't think it would work out very well. Also, I'm not sure that the guild options will actually allow me to let members of the guild edit posts that I make. So long as you promptly let me know when one of your characters dies or changes, it's really not that hard for me to just go into the memberlist and move things about or mark things differently. But I appreciate your thought. smile

If you guys would like for me to add pictures to your character profiles, though, I would be more than happy to do so. Just send me the image in a PM and I'll set up a link to it on the memberlist. ^_^

And you should know that, even though my internet connection works full time now, I'm still very busy. I have a lot of responsibilities around the house--taking care of my dad, washing the dishes, cleaning, cooking, and unpacking stuff, so I may not be able to devote full-time attention to the RPG for a few weeks yet. But I'm still available to be contacted and stuff, and I can continue roleplaying now if it's needed. smile Moving is hard! blaugh
