he takes her hand "yeah, i'll be in a lot of pain but i'll be ok." he smiles weakly at her. "will you stay with me tonight?" he asked.

he smiles. "Thank you." just then a doctor came in and looked at them. "Dan is this your girlfriend?" he asked. "yes." dan said looking at him. "can I speak with you alone for a minute?" he asked Jen.

"I suppose." Jen said, letting go of Dan's hand. "I'll be back as soon as I can." She said, with a small smile, as she followed the doctor out of the room.

"Do you know if Dan is allergic to any medications?" he asked. "It would help us out."

"As far as I know he's not, but don't you think it'd be better to ask him that question?" Jen asked, calmly wondering why the doctor would want to ask that question privately.

"There is also a slight problem." he said looking at her. "He is gonna need all the love and support he can get. His football career is over, he won't ever play again." he said to her.

Jen felt her own jaw drop. "His football career is over?" Jen repeated, shocked above all else. "Isn't there anything you can do? I mean I know surgery's are tricky, but there's got to be something... he loves football." She said, unevenly.

"he tore the ligaments off the bone. There is a slim to none chance that he will be able to play again." he said looking at her.

"Slim to none, does that mean that there is some kind of hope that he may be able to play Football again?" Jen asked, knowing she could ask Mickey to heal him later, if need be.

"it would be a very slim chance but it would be best if he didn't because his knee will not be as strong as it was." he said to her. "I know you are concerned and I know he loves football." he said

She nodded and walked back into Dan's room, closing the door behind her. She pulled the chair over to the bed, and sat in it. "Hey." She said, shortly.
