Well I wouldn't protect anyone, but in the spirit of thise thread hmm....
Probably Phoenix, and I was use a simple bat. Simple works wonders.

I would protect Mike and/ or phoenix. Id use a sword and a gun sword in right hand, gun in left, until i had to reload, then i would throw the gun and use the sword two handed.
