I don't have a thumb in the recruitment pie so I assumed that it would be a request. I would like to invite one bowen13 into the guild. He's a good friend of mine, a fellow writer, and he works with me on the Writing Development team for Alatheya so I vouch for his credibility.
He can be found as a friend of mine on my profile. His name is bowen13. Thank you to whoever does it for me because I don't think I can and I don't know how to if I could.

Thanks, he says hes not using gaia as much as he did so he may decline rather than be a bump on a log, but we'll see.

I was thinking that with the contests...maybe we could have two people that run it (like we have.) But with prizes and stuff they pay a few and with that money make a mule and then the mule can be used over all the crew and such and used to give prizes out and whatever. Can be an advitising mule aswell.

Suggestion ~ A new guild member announcement (get to know you) sticky in the Foyer.
That way people who are new to the guild, like me can introduce ourselves and be welcomed. It helps get people connected and adds interest and activity.
Another suggestion, kinda ~ I am part of AGG (Adult Gaian Guild) and they have a pretty good set up for some of the ideas that have been put forth.
~Contests, like Member of the Month (MOTM), and other ones & games in a seperate section.
~Donations to guild and each contest/game for prizes.
~Adopt a member... Each crew member (or those who want to) has a "family" and any new guild members who want to be adopted fill out a quick survey and get adopted into a family. This gives newbies a small group of people they know they can rely on for silly questions they may not know who or how to ask about.

Thanks for the suggestions Kel.
Is there any chance you could help us with a couple of those? With the guild lacking in activity at the moment, it's hard to run things as it is and the people assigned to particular tasks have a bad habit of accepting the tasks and then don't actually do them.

I can volunteer to be "family" to some newcomers; I'd also like to think about some contest ideas as well. I really like Kel's idea about Member of the Month too!

That'd be good Jasta. The member of the month thing might be a tad difficult until we get a good amount of people posting on a regular basis. We'll work something out with that though.

I see how a contest of that sort may be a problem but if more people become active, it could be a reality. I also would like to than Kel for the suggestions, it's nice to see more members posting them.

I definately would like to help and even apply for some jobs. I have to wait a week or two until things calm down at work a bit. I don't want to promise and then not come through.
I will do all i can to help this guild be its best.
Thank you for the kudos, but i so borrowed the ideas from my other guild. They make that place so much fun, i figured they would work here too.

1. Maybe we could have a movie day? - There are a bunch of short t.v. shows ~ member added clips that I'm sure people think are funny and would like to share. It might be kinda fun and crazy to try to get a couple members into the theatre on Gaia and maybe just watch something short ~ Like our own little party! Even if just two people show up - *lol* - the only problem I see with that is I'm sure all our time zones are wonky as the dickens. But *shrug* - it might be fun and worth a shot?!
2. We could adopt - a - town. We could try to either live in the same town - or just adopt a town and try to keep it free of litter! Plus - if we do try to keep it clean - we might run into a fellow Guild member!

And it looks like all the houses in that block are occupied. If we could find a couple of adjoining blocks that are unpopulated, we'd only have to pay 1000 gold each to move there. I wonder if there's a way to reserve a block?
