Let him be a thorn, let it twist about and drive deep, let it all go to hell and rot. Quintilius was no one to be subersevient to another, Fay would know that well enough, but then he had landed insult by not arriving himself to greet the ship. So an amends of sorts would have to be done, but later.

Arriving half a hour after the ship had originally docked Quin walked up to where it was harboured and smirked. Leaning on his cane he looked at the man who he was told asking for him.

"Why, I am here. Where is Fay?"

Daoin hd always liked to think of himself as easygoing by nature, but meeting this man was bringing out a darker side in him. Or to be more exact, the nationalist pride that seemed to manifest itself in every Faye in the most arrogant manner.

"You will follow me." he briefly stated, stiffly.

While Daoin may think his actions looked to be prideful the stiff and curtly way in which he had stated his words reminded Quin of a servent. Keeping his face neutral he followed the Faye, now why did she bring this one.

Daion and Quin were announced before they reached Fay to her, and she excused hersef from the Clootie, who had since been driving her mad, to see them. It always seemed that mortals aged so drastically ecah time she saw them, and now was no exception for Quin. Raising an eyebrow she waited until they were close enough to speak with, then inquired to Quin if he was ready for the weapons demonstration or not.

"Right now, no. Later today, certianly."

A simple answer, and a thruthful one. Weapons demonstrations were always interesting. They always pose the potential for someone to get hurt if someone was careless.

"Our commander would most appreciate it if you could give us a more concrete time. The war has made our time that much more precious, and I am sure that the Clootie would believe it has other important duties to attend to as well." although what they would be he would never dare fathom. Fay hadn't mentioned much about this one, but the senario seemed familiar.

Chantico

"Emergency!" Chantico cried, rushing in with the cub. She lmost knocked down a understndably shocked looking woman in a kimono that cost more than Chantico had probably seen since coming to BA, but luck and the saints were with her, she was able to see one familiar face "Quin!" she screamed down from the ground.

He was about to ask for a hour when he heard his name. "Give me a hour and a half and I'll have it set up for you. I just need to get contact with a few people and we'll be set."

As he was on the ship he glanced over the rails and saw a face he hadn't seen in a long time. "Chantico? What's the emergency?"

Was everything going to hell in a handbasket?

And then, with that one second that she was finally able to pause, she realized that she couldn't shout out the seriousness of what was happening. There were too many people here that would hear it and be alarmed, and no way to assuage them in time with the knowledge that she wasn't herself-

"I need you to follow me! I need help, I need any type of help you can give me." even the heathen magic, she didn't yet know what visitors he was entertaining.

Turning to Fay he bowed, "Truly I am sorry for this. But I can not ignore this and seeing as I do not know the nature of this request I must see to it to make sure that all is right. The demonstration shoul start as I stated. I will have someone escort you when it is time."

And with so much as that he excused himself and was off the ship. In a hushed tone he looked at Chantico. "This better be good."

"I wouldn't talk to you for any other reason." there was no malice in her voice, she was simply telling the truth. But there was worry "it's plauge in New Xhen, Quin. The demons of pestilence must spread through the air. One of the RN's with more experience in this sort of epidemic has ordered we keep the clean bodies away from the infected ones, but it's spreading too fast and killing within a matter of hours. Werewolves seem to be the worst hit so far. I still need to tell Aes too, but I don't know where he is, he's not in his office and I can't broadcast to him- help me."

I should think that her distress would be a matter of some concern for us. Perhaps they are too immature to trade with.

Daoin was still irked by how that human had behaved towards him, a stranger. If he could pick out a flaw now, then perhaps they could go home and reep the benefits of the war that was even now tearing Gallahad's nation apart.

Damn him, as far as she knew this was a punlic line here. It was fine to broadcast around the giants and some more "quaint" humans they encountered, but she already knew that Quintilius was a ki user. Rather than dignify his remark with another broadcast, she instead shot him a withering look.

"I think it would be best if you would retire." she said to the Clootie.

There is something to be said of having people basicly shouting in your head whenever you recieve a ki message; and that's really what Quin felt. He had never learned to control much of it, nor could he send messages either; but then it made it easier to listen in a way. So whatever the problem was he would have to act quickly so as to keep the b*****d from cutting off trade.

When Chantico told him though what was going on there was a faint recolection as he remebered reading reports of such things; but never getting all the detail he liked.

"This is troubling; but if all you need is to find Aes for now then I will have Percy help you."

Snapping his fingers quickly Percy came to his side. It had been a while since Quin had been so forth right in any command. The man waited tell his directions were given.

"Find Aes, the Healer, for her and take her to him. Then I want you to get message to Reaper somehow. We need to put a show on in a while so you don't have long."

Taking his leave of her for the time being he said he would explain things later.

When he came aboard the ship he managed to mask his agitation of the situation and was willing to make the better of it.

"How many horses were you wanting Fay? And the display will go on as smoothly as others allow it to, though I am open to ideas on how you would like to see this demonstration conducted. You could just look at them, watch a few fights using them. Perhaps even try your own hand?"

Fay watched the girl leave, as well as the Clootie being led away by her men. When Quin rejoined them she didn't look pleased, but his quick comment about the horses made her focus.

"Three is the traditional number for gifts, but it does depend on what a budding nation like yourselves can afford. The matter of testing does require some thought. In my current state I would rather not, but arrangements can be made on our side to ensure that the youkai are not cheated."

What was going on? She was itching to know.
