My name is Bart or The_Bartner, 21 at the moment. I'm from Belgium, native language Dutch, so I don't know all the terminology. I'm at University of Antwerp, 3rd year, math and I used to have a 1st price in the Flemish Mathematical Olympiade when I was 17. My major interests are Stochastic processes, Statistics and Financial math. I hope to learn more about those this year. I'm not that good in analysis, for example topological spaces and Hilbert spaces.

I'm Metsa. My knowledge of physics and mathematics is rather limited compared to most of you around here, and English being my second language doesn't help wink Therefore, you won't see me posting a lot, but it's nice just being here.

Hi I'm the mother and reaper of The Math Guild. crying crying crying
It was born. It died. I was sad. I'm glad to join you!
So I love Math (Physics to but I'm more a math chick)
I'm a 19 year old girl with Paranoid Schizophrenia.
I work at a mutual fund investment advisory company.
I love Game Theory! heart heart heart

Well as you can see My user is Shadow_Cosmos (I was unnaware at account creation that I could use spaces...)
I'm only 16 at this moment and by my own observation I am lazy. I am told by too many teachers (I wonder how many told my parents to make them make me work) that I was much smarter that I acted or my grades reflected.
I have always loved the sciences but being a junoir in High School doesn't help much. Earth science was very interesting, especially parts that had to do with the universe and places that aren't neccesarily earth related. I'm not interested in Biology (much I wish to study the pressure points but that's more anatomy) heh, can't stand dissections. I'm currently taking Chemsitry and am whirring through it because I sat in on my schools AP Chem classes last year. Next year I plan on taking my two favorite courses. Ap Chemistry and Physics. Unfortunalty our school doesn't offer Ap Physics so I'll have to wait till college to get more knowledge. I'm don't know the Formulie for Physics (but a few for chemistry) so I'll get lost in that, but with a diagram I can get the gist of what they are talking about. I hope to learn a lot here.
ehh, I guess I can say it... My names's Jeff and I live in Minnesota.

I'm Mizu. I'm in my senior yr of high school. I went to physics to audit the class instead of going to lunch last year. Right now I'm taking Ap Calc and I'm in math club learning (or at least trying to) about chaos

I now sort of regret giving myself the name sibeliusgroupie...it strikes me as rather obnoxious...but what can I say, it all stems from my appreciation of that awesome Finnish composer Sibelius. Still, what's done is done. *sigh of exasperation*
Hmmm...well, I'm a junior in highschool. I've always been interested in the theoretical side of physics, but since for most of my high school days I have been property of my biology teacher, my physics knowledge is very lacking. However, I am trying to educate myself by reading as much about the subject as I can. Currently I am fascinated by the idea of extra spatial dimensions that we do not know of. Being the irritating kid that asks questions in class every five minutes or so, I've also been able to squeeze out the last vestiges of physics knowledge my chemistry and biology teachers have retained since their college days...I'm hoping to take physics sometime soon...
Oh, and as a side note, I live in Hawaii. However, where I live there's more mountains and mist than palm trees and sand... No, I cannot surf (although that is not to say that I haven't tried: my friend's response to my wiping out yet again? "Unbelievable!")

Hello, I'm Sean, but you can call me Frank, for visual ease.
I'm 17, last year of highschool.
I love Math. It's my passion. I plan on getting a B. Sc. in Mathematics.
I am also the president of Math Club, founded by me, of my school.
I don't know if I'll be able to have anything to say in some discussions here, they look pretty high up. But I'll do my best.

hi, i'm BloodlvsTxBvtterflies. i'm 16, fascinated with mathematics and physics, and currently working towards getting into a good college (i'd looove to go to stanford) and finishing "The Road to Reality" by Roger Penrose (a particularly difficult book).

But I'll do my best. we don't mean to alienate you through elitism, the majority of people here are between the ages of 15 and 18. We have a pretty young crowd, there's no reason why the topics should be 'too advanced' for you since you are our majority and it's up to you to make the topics. If you wish to discuss anything do not be afraid of it being too 'simple' chances are you're going to find people to talk to you about it. It might be the most involved people that are intimidating you. Just become very involved yourself. oh and, welcome to the guild! pleased to have you here.

Hi, I'm Tetsu. I'm from New York City and I go to one of the top 5 middle schools in New York City. I am currently 13 in 8th grade. My academic standards are above the average but my school is dishing out all this confusing stuff in math and science. So I decided to join this guild to get back on track and to get ahead but I don't understand almost anything that the people in this guild are saying. sweatdrop Nice to be here, though. smile

Oi. My screen name is obviously Cougar Draven, but you guys can call me John. I'm 19, and I'll be 20 next month. Somehow, over the course of five years of being the laziest human on the planet, I graduated high school last summer, and now I'm torn between college and the Army. Honestly, I'm aware that the Army isn't the best place for a thinker, but it might be the best place for me.
My interests are currently smashing the Beale ciphers, getting a job, and solving an intricate problem involving several large numbers and the work of a high school kid in 1998.
That, and understanding every joke in xkcd.

Hi guys!
I'm Ian, and I'm from Perth, Australia. I am in my last semester at Curtin University doing a BSc in Mathematics and Finance. lol.. Yes, finance and yes, it is apparently still a Science degree. Go figure.
I sucked at maths and physics in highschool but for some reason, started doing well in Uni. (From a C grade in Calculus and a B grade in Applicable Maths -> Distinction to High Distinction in Uni) Mrhhh... So those of whom are still in highschool, don't be discouraged that you're not doing well in a certain subject. It doesn't mean you're going to suck at it for the rest of your life.
My main math interest lies in Statistics, but I don't tend to discriminate between areas of maths. Physics is also lots of .. phun but I'm afraid I don't quite understand it very well, thanks to the teachers I had in high school. In Physics, I enjoy reading about Nuclear Fusion, and developments of it. ^_^
*pokes Cougar Draven below him* The Army uses mathematicians ^_^ See code-breaking and game theory.
