We get called everything... Band fags, band geeks, you name it. There's also the "get a life"-ers, the "freak"-ers, and the point-and-laughers. We're a dying race at our school. Like the elves... Lol.

Felixue Some kids destroyed the tower my band director stands on during the summer before band camp. We don't really get made fun of so much as disrespected. Our practice field is a parking lot. Lots of times, during the fall, there are JV Football games during our practices, so people park on our field. Sometimes we have to cancel practice because people won't move, or because there are too many cars. The band at my school is very disrespected sweatdrop That's so sad...really, I feel for you. Our band isn't really liked or hated, everyone at out school is kinda neutral about us. But at some of the away games we travel to, the other side can be VERY rude. One person even threw an empty water bottle inside one of the tubas. scream At parades though, the little kids love us. And since some extremely popular people are in the band, most people yell and shout "Woohoo! Go band!" to us. Most of the time, at football games and concerts, people are usually nice. Although there are a few people who give us looks like "You're such a dork. Get a life." and we just raise our instruments in the air like we're gonna hit them then snicker and walk off after seeing the scared look on their face.

only the people who are too lazy to wake up at 7 for practice and our enemy yell at/make fun of us.

They've made comments about the band, but nothing too offensive. We get a few people who stick their heads in the door and scream "Band Geeks!", and a few slightly more idiotic individuals screaming "You're gay!", but then they realize that they're not getting any attention, so they usually go away after that.
If not, we fire insults right back.

Elenriel Nimloth We never had drive-by discouragement.... In fact, one of the "things" to do is to honk and cheer when you pass by the field while the marching band is practicing. Especially if you're an alumni. xd They come to expect it. This happens at my school as well. My cousin honks everytime we are practicing.

Ours is on a road, but it's not a very busy road or anything, and that kind of stuff doesnt happen much at all.

That happens to us at band camp, everyone in the town loves us and says that that week is the best week of each year, our 1 chair trump. allways plays taps at 11 for bed and ppl 10 miles away hear it, that show u how much of a small quite town it is.

There was one instance I specifically remember where two stupid f*****t muscleheaded freshman called my best man friend a band loser. D:
But yeah, stupid f***ers drive by and honk their horns. Sometimes I manage to flip them off. ^__^
Just because they don't do anything constructive doesn't mean that people who do are freaks. domokun *stabs them with a monkey wrench*

I'd prefer if you didn't use that as an insult, especially since you have no idea whether the muscle-headed freshmen were gay or not. Anyway, we don't have any problems with getting yelled at at my school. My school is made up of about 150 people and about 40 of them are in band. We don't really have a "band nerds" clique at our school... People from pretty much every group and clique are represented in the band.

we get yelled at and honked at, though normally when were honked at it's someone we know so it's all good. people normaly call us fags and stuff if they yell anything really, though we just laugh at them and wonder why they are calling us bassoons and bundles of sticks xd we are pretty good humered about most of it.

I remember when we were circling the track before a football game a bunch of rednecks were outside the fence sitting on their tailgates and drinking beer, and one yelled, "FAGGOTS!" at us and Derick, who is a fellow trumpet who was marching beside me, told them to shut the fsck up. I could've glomped him. xd

ours is next to the school parking lot but most people already left so we dont get honks or whatever...BUT theres freshman football that walks past the practice lot and yell stuff...for half of the show i was next to the parking lot and i know a lot of them which sometimes led to "BAND SUCKS!!! hey, sasha!" sweatdrop and then stares...
