Ed gave off yet another smirk. "I'll give you ten minutes tops...I'm pretty sure your energy will wear down by then and I'll be able to get Al and get the hell outta here." His confidence in his plan was boundless. He wasted no energy just sitting there while Anna had to mantain a barrier stong enough to keep him from escaping. He started to count down the secopnds as he awaited his freedom.

"I hope you're aware of a basic rule: I an extract the energy from whatever's around me, or o whatever my mind's conected to. Lia's meditating and lending me a helping hand while I extractthe energy of the earth itself. I could last years like this... Until I die, actually. So give up, Ed. I don't want to have to use something else... And I don'T want you to die. Turn around and give it up.. Tomorrow, I'll let you go, but... Not today, not now... You know... I keep bringing up Heiderich; I just keep thinking that if you die, he was killed for nothing..."
Anna sighed and kept her right arm up towards Ed. She couldn't let him go. The ambush that was planned wouldn't wait as long as two entire days; They'd be gone by tomorrow. For now, every second she held Ed back was a second less in her life-span, really.
'Anna, you should give up. He won't change his mind.' 'Well then, I'll have to change it for him.' 'Anna, you know it's for--' 'Forbidden? What we're doing right now is forbidden, damn it, but we'Re still doing it!' 'Anna...'
'Al... Come out, anna called with her mind. You have to hold Ed back; if you two leave now, you'll get killed! Alchemy or not. Please... Just keep him from leaving. YouR'e the only one that can, now. I won'T last much longer holding him back like this; I'll fall asleep. Or in a coma, depends. In any case, jsut hurry up...'

Al heard a voice in his head and it sounded familiar. "It sounded like Anna..." He walked outside and looked around and not seeing anybody, he assumed Ed went to Trisha's grave again and Anna went to see him. He shrugged and walked back inside.
Ed on the otherhand, refused to budge like the stubborn mule he was. "You see, there's some grass in here and I can turn that into bread, and as long as it rains, I have water so really, I'm better off than you are." He smiled an evil smile.

"I don't care. I'll die someday anyways, so I'm better off fying for a reason than old age. Really, you could stay there forever..."
'ALPHONSE! On the road you innocent twit! ON THE ROAD! And you BETTER hurry up or else I'm gonna kill you!!!'
Not only was Anna losing patience, but she was slowly falling asleep. This was one of the side-effets of extracting energy from an other body or form; You'd have to take in an extra amount of regeneration. In this case, this regeneration was sleep.

Ed leaned forward a bit. "Ooo, someone's getting tired." He smirked as he started to make faces. "Five minutes now..."
Al heard the voince once again and did what it said, head out to the road. As he walked down it he found his brother and Anna in yet another alchemical argument.

"SHUT UP! Geez, is it THAT hard to get through your thick LITTLE head that you'Re going to get killed if you go pass the fence?! I want to keep you alive but you want to die! What?! Is it suicide?! YOU CREEP! You want to leave your life, love and family behind! Even I'M no THAT innocent!"
Just in time; Anna had heard Al walking on the muddy road. Thank god for those noisy boots...
"Al... He can't leave, and neither can you; You'll both die in an ambush that not even the homunculi could handle.. Please, keep your brother here..."

"Then die; But I won'T let you be killed by those... If anything, you'll die under my hands and suffer the pain I must everyday..."
In a last effort of desperation, Anna managed to build a 'bridge' between all three minds, transfering some of the pain she was enduring. It felt so good to share this burden... Wether they wanted to or not. They'd have to suffer before doing anything, to at LEAST know what just a fleck of dust of the pain they were throwing themselves in was like.
'You innocent Kids!' Lia screamed out. 'Lia, stay out of this.' 'ANNA! You plan on killing these two?!' 'Yes. I do.' 'Then I won'T be the one helping you to do this.' 'Fine; As long as I'm connected to these two brothers, I can do whatever I want...' 'Anna, don'T do it, it'll on--' 'THEY WANT TO DIE THEN FINE!!'
It was... Almost like a dragon had roared. Actually, it WAS a dragon that roared. You see... There's this 'tradition' in the Belrith family... The daughters have a guardian. Let it be known that they're only alchemical beasts whose souls have been trapped in the necklaces representing the military. Anna has one, and there was an other; Lia has it. Lia's, though, is a great white wolf... In any case...
'Edward, Alphonse, I'm sorry... But it's my duty to prevent any harm from enemy hands to befall you. But Roy never mentioned anything coming from me; SO I choose to engrave death in your minds and kill myself in the process. Wether you like it or not. And now... AS my last dyin wish... You can't leave here until tomorrow morning. Goodbye... Good luck, if you have enough to stay alive...'
The nothing. No sound, no pain, no voices; just the sound of the leaves ruslting in the wind. The pain engraved in the body of Ed and Al, Anna hoped, was enough to hold them back at least a while. But then... Anna, both out of desperation and fatigue, had collapsed into a coma on the ground. Her face was pale... She said she was going to die, and she wasn't kidding. The energy it had took to accomplish the link and the barrier around the fields of the house... It was still draining her.
This... Would be the end of a world... Or would it? Pf, you'll know soon enough. ^^

MEANWHILE...
"Damn it!! Anna..."
Lia was sitting in a tent in the desert; she was coming back home for anna, and had just left Xing a few days ago. But now... Was it worth the trip to go back to Amestris only to come back to an empty life? Anna... was the only other Belrith left. Thoguh Lia was eldest, Anna supported her and was there. Always. What about now?
"Haru, we have to hurry up; I don'T have much time le--" "Aye, m'lady, I understand the situation. We must make haste with finding the borders. But with this storm... It will not be easy." "STORM?! Oh man, this is th last thing I needed... Anna.. Please hang on..."

Ed looked at the motionless lump on the ground and sighed. "I'd say something but I don't think I should..." He shook his head. Al rushed over to her side and looked at her carefully. "I don't think she's breathing Ed..." "Then give her mouth to mouth!" "But...I've never kissed a girl before..." "And i have!?!" There was a quarrel between the two brothers out of sheer stupidity since they didn;t have any idea what they should do.

Oh, anna was breathing all right. Just... Not enoguh. She was suffocating inside her mind. She knew it all to well; she was semi-conscious. Let's say she heard everything but couldn't do anything else. She had to suffer the terrible pwerlessness that she had to go through years ago... Horrible. Breathe in, out, in... Nothing. Crap. She knew it. She had stopped breathing. NOT GOOD!!
'OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!! I CAN'T die!! LIA! I can't leave her alone!! What the hell am I going to do!! Wait! Lia can do human alchemy.. She just has to use her wolf! YEAH! If she feels that my soul's still at the doors, she can save me!! But then.. It'll wind up like Ed and Al... TO HELL WITH THAT!!' 'Anna, calm down.' 'LIA?!' 'I don't think I'm anyone else. Look, just try to stay alive while I'm coming. We're going as fast as we can through this sandstorm. Hold on... Not for me, but for--' 'Lia...' 'Anna, I can'T talk anymore. I'm going to faint if I keep this up...' 'LIA! IF anything happends...'
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Lia and Haru urged the horses faster through the storm. It was horrendous; San flinging at your from everywhere! Not even their scraves and specialised clothes could keep the sand from snapping at their skin. Afterwards, they'd be bloody and numb... But no time to think about that.
"Haru!! How much longer do you think we can go like this?!" "Until we reach that ancient town, m'lady!!"
Ahead, as a matter of a fact, lay the ruins of an old town.. Must be something like where Maria Ross stayed a while... Oh well. It wasn't very big, or very warm, for that, but it was protection. They'd only stop there to sleep; Haru and Lia would have to be back on the road as soon as they could.

"Ed, carry her." Al said....actually, ordered. "You do it! I don't even like her!" Ed growled angrilly. "JUST DO IT ED!!!!" "YOU!!!!" Ed was becoming agitated. "Fine..." He picked her up and slowly waddled to the house.

'...I'll tell them as soon as I arrive at the house. Don't be surprised if you find yourself waking up, though.' 'You'Re too kind for your own good, Lia' 'I know.' 'What modesty you have!' 'I know. ^^'
That was what was said briefly before Anna started to loose grasp on realit. Everything started to fade away, voices started to become murmurs... No. This couldn't end so simply. Anna had to do something. But what?
Grasp.
THAT'S RIGHT! If there was one thing she had remembered from the alchemical texts she read, it was that any grasp on reality could keep a mind and soul to a body. But the rope; what would it be? A choice betwee friendship, family or love. Pf, what a choice... Love. That's the one... All she could do now is wait... Speaking of wait, wait a second... Anna was aware, as you know, of what was happening... But was she... Did Al just pick her up? YES! They wouldn't die. ^^ Good. At least she would have succeeded in bring death to life, in some manner...

The moment Al set her down, Ed grabbed his wrist and headed for the door. "Brother, what are you doing" "Leaving, what does it look like to you?" Ed turned slightly while holding Al's wrist tihtly. "Anna said..." "Who cares whaty that psychopath says! She fall under the defintion of crazy in my book..." "Brother..."

"ENOUGH! I'll use Alchemy. I'll be tired as hell afterwards, but at least I'll be there in time." "Good luck, m'lady..."
Lia jumped off her horse furiously and clasped her hands together, an alchemy circle like Anna's glowing around her.
"Ashiteru Desu!"
In a burst of light, only glowing dust remained. Lia... Was using the fur of her Guardian to cross the doors. She had to; and it would be accepted. She was getting to Anna, wether she'd be tired or not.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
"STOP! Any one of you two move a inch and you'll be spending the rest of your life wishing you hadn't done this to my sister."
Lia had reached the house... Though she had to loose a few fingers. Apparently, the fur wasn't enough. Too bad; Anna was priority, now. Though bloody trickled to the ground and pain nudged at Lia, she was as still as stone.
"Even if you wanted to, you couldn't get out of this place; She placed a curse upon these lands so that you can't get out before tomorrow morning. So, you better sit down and explain what happened."

Ed, who had stopped in the middle of a step, fell flat on his face. "Ed...you're such a klutz..." Al groaned. "Who's the new crazy person?" Ed got up and brushed himself off. "Ed, I know the same amount you do..."
