Harabu listened, he hadn't gone in the water so he had guessed that it would be soon that she found him. He waited though, his ears alert and listening, after all, she could be playing with him!

Everything had gone quiet. Not a single sound in the silence until...
"Gotcha!" Amani laughed as she tackled Harabu from behind.

Harabu rolled over and laughed as she got him again, he then fell on his side and instinctivly licked her muzzle where he had hurt her, he didn't even realise what he had done, he just laid on his side, his head resting on the ground and a smile across his maw.

Amani jerk back in surprise at his action, but smiled and laughed despite her surprise.
"You have a nice laugh, Harabu. You should use it more often," she said, sitting back with a smile.

He looked a little confused at this point but smiled, she liked his laugh? A female liked him? He shook his head but didn't say anything, he was just really really confused!

"What are you shaking your head for? You do! Really," Amani told him. Males could be so weird sometimes. "And you have a nice smile too. It's just hidden by that mean frown all the time," she said and tapped his nose with her paw.

He looked slightly confused for a little while, "How?" He then started to explain how he had been beaten up as a cub by his mother and how he had killed his sister accedently. He had never spoken about this to anyone but he felt like it was a good thing to get off his chest.

Amani stared at him with wide eyes as he told her about his family and why he was sent away.
"Harabu..." she said when he had finished, her ears down sadly. "I... I knew you had problems, but, I had no idea how bad... I'm sorry that happen to you."

Harabu just started licking his paw, he didn't want to go on about it all. He wasn't great with pity. He thought that licking his paw was the best thing he could possibly do.

Amani stepped foreward and licked his cheek. She wanted him to know that she cared, but she wasn't quite sure how, apart from that affectionate gesture.

He let his head lay into her slightly not realising what he was doing. The small timid cute cub like nature was slowly coming back to him. He had been vicious but didn't know why.

She nuzzled his cheek slightly and smiled.
"I think I like this side of you best," Amani said softly. She thought about telling him that she had thought about him sometimes, before he took her here. They were really only curious thoughts, wondering what had happened to him since when they first met, but they were still thoughts about him.

Harabu welcomed the nuzzle, it was nice to feel wanted and the playing had let his guard down, there wasn't much point in putting it back up now! He nuzzled her again liking the warmth of her body close to his, he hadn't had anything like this before.

"I thought about you. That's why I was surprised to see you the morning you brought me here. I wondered what had happened to you," Amani told him, nuzzling him back. She was glad he had opened up to her and wasn't treating her with indifference anymore.

Harabu was a little confused but smiled. He raised his head to look at the sky, it was getting dark. "Maybe we should get some sleep, tomorrow you can explore, I have some things to do." He let out a yawn and laid down to sleep if she wasn't going to say anything else.
