I don't know if you got that question wrong (sorry, I don't know too much about HHGG outside things in the books) but the answer to the question you asked was a Chesterfield... I think.

The ultimate weapon is a very small red bomb, it is basically a junction in hyperspace that when activated will join the heart of every major sun to every other major sun in the Universe, designed by Hactar for the silastic armor fiends of Striterax.
