Civilian Kalani | 8+5 | Roll 2

After she'd been waving around a tree branch for awhile, and hitting the fog minions, the real deal appeared, and it looked none too happy. Arguably, Kalani couldn't really blame it, to a certain extent, though it didn't mean she sympathized with it or anything. Rather, she'd prefer it if she could get to go home right about now, and the monster was standing in the way between her and that.

The temperature was dropping, almost freezing, and Kalani rather wished she had been wearing a jacket. When the monster howled, the shockwave knocked the teen off her feet, and onto the dirty ground, where undoubtedly her clothes were even more filthy now. Annoyed, Kalani got back to her feet after a moment to regain her bearings, and looked for the nearest projectile she could throw at the monster.

Eternal Remarque - Roll 2

Remarque hated the cold. He would have taken an army of fog creatures over just the chill in the air. He had been successful enough with fending them off--a few hits and they were down. He hadn't even tried to use his magic on them. It wasn't worth it, not when they hardly even felt like a threat.

An unending one, but still.

He hadn't really seen the monster up close, not yet, so it was a bit jarring--but then, he'd seen uglier youma.

He was already worked up, ready for a fight--and the thing looked like it wanted blood. For the most part, he didn't care.

...But there were Dark Mirror Senshi here who he knew were at risk, and he was going to do everything in his power to make sure their group didn't take any causalities they could have otherwise avoided.

He didn't feel bad about attacking--not when they'd been held here, against their will, for too long.

Mauvian Soleiyu - Roll 2

The chill didn't bother Soleiyu; he had long, thick fur that kept him at a comfortable temperature. On hot nights, he managed, but in the cold, he thrived. In the matter of a moment--between when the fog creatures disappeared and the monster arrived, Soleiyu suddenly felt much more comfortable--until he lost the fog cover, and until he realized just how big the creature was.

He didn't want to attack--didn't want to get anywhere near it. If he used his laser, he was going to be out--and he didn't have anyone to look after him. He'd be dead weight if he were unconscious, but--

The shrillness of the cry struck him from his thoughts and he recoiled, in pain and fighting against the sensation of dizziness and headache.

...Oh, he wanted to be home and away from all of this trouble.

Diesel was much better at taking on these creatures than Narcissus thought he would be. The group as a whole seemed to be successfully dwindling their numbers, and Narci was too ready to see them all seep down into the fog and stay there.

He wasn't quite as prepared for the true monster to take the place of the fog apparitions, but when it appeared...

'You're not dead!' Narcissus' gaze snapped quickly between the monster and Diesel as the younger senshi let out what sounded like a delighted cry. It was frightening to take his eyes off the monster who was snarling and flexing and clearly preparing for some kind of assault, but when his vibrant magenta eyes scanned past Diesel and landed on a particular agent, he couldn't help but feel an entirely unasked for swell of relief and happiness.

"Rakovanite!" He moved closer, but despite feeling a too-personal attachment to someone he knew did not feel the same about him, Narcissus held himself back. Rakovanite and Diesel were family. He didn't need to shove himself between their reunion just because of a couple nights of...

Well, he didn't need to shove himself between them, anyway. The time for reunions would be after they escaped from this beast.

Any attempts at an attack only seemed to incense the monster. It had taken less than a moment for it to collect itself and it seemed to bear little damage from any attempts to harm it. Its eyes flashed a fierce yellow color for a split second before fading into darkness once more.

Its talons outstretched and it swiped at the group in wild, erratic swings. The monster's hands were large and its first swipe cleaved a tree with such force that it sent splinters flying through the crowd. The gash was easily an inch deep into the bark of the tree.

The beast didn’t have to make contact with its claws, though; it was so strong that the ferocity of its swipes send a shockwave through the air. The monster moved quickly, guarding the exit more than anything else. It seemed like it had entered a frantic state, desperate and enraged and fully prepared to fight them all at once.

The constant movement was enough to keep the fog at bay, though it seemed to gather around the group, circling the area in a thick, white wall.

Or not.

The man wasn't presented with an opportunity to play with his makeshift weapon in those moments as their beast, the 'friendly' one as the naïve man had pled, had rather lost its temper. Suffice to say that as its claws swung about haphazardly and shorn trees cast their splinters and debris into the air, it stood to reason that on this occasion Athalia was going to have to acquiesce to the Eternal's request and do his duty.

It was with a sigh that he cast the silver shard and rope towards the eternal, ensuring the rope was the bit to hit her. If he'd spent the time to create it then it might as well be used. He wouldn't expect miracles in terms of deadly precision but Metis contained enough strength in her to at least brute force it to a degree and in the grand scheme of things that was all that he could have asked for.

"Herculean Phalanx!"

Stance hardening, the senshi braced himself and in reply the shimmering insect wings wove round him and those within his immediate radius. Forming a dome, it provided a place of succour while conveniently reflecting and causing many of those splinters to ricochet back towards the beast. While not necessarily an intended reaction to his magic, he would certainly be grateful for small favours. The accuracy of the splinters left much to be desired, but at least he could cause some damage and for now that would be enough to satisfy his need for a measure of retribution.

"Now if you would be so kind as to return fire while I hold this thing up that would be lovely," he added as he cast a pointed glance towards Metis, Shaowei and Namielle... Although based on Namielle's rather shakey legs, it may have been better for her to take a moment to gather her strength again.

[From this point out people are more than welcome to cut back and forth through his domes and shields to take cover when they need a moment to catch their breath as he'll be recasting each of his shields in bursts until he tires out. *Nodnod*]

Shaowei - Dark Mirror Senshi of Entreaty - 3

When it came to cutting your losses and running Shaowei liked to assume that she was reasonably adept at recognising this. Whether it was her working life or otherwise, there were just some instances where sticking it out and taking a beating wasn't worth it. Suffice to say that this was one of those moments and it was with a distressed yelp that she turned on her heel and promptly dove into the dome of insectoid light.

Pelted with twigs, stones and other shrapnel swept up in the gales of the furious beast, it seemed unlikely that Shaowei would be able to do anything at this exact moment. With her magic so reliant on others to look at her, it didn't seem like this particular instance would be an appropriate use of her powers.

She became rather grateful for the large dome above her head, and for the senshi within it. Whatever the other wandering senshi had done to him seemed to have worked to a degree and he was standing on his own, but she hadn't accounted for the fact that in the end he'd be back in front of her... again.

"Thank you," she murmured gently, though she wasn't convinced he heard her.
