Burning Aces S'mol of Bronze Valseth HP:8/39 Status Effect:None XP: Target Accuracy: 3 Flame Length:2 General Stamina:2 General Agility: 4 Between Accuracy: 3 Pain Resilience: 2 Instinct: 2 Luck: 3
Once more Valseth and S'mol jumped between to avoid one attack from the deadly devouring of thread straight into another. This time around Valseth's wing, searing several small holes in the bronze's wing membrane as well as eating through at the base.
They shook the thread off but now every beat of his wing sent pain jumping down his nerves.
That's it. I'm calling it. We are going back to the the bowl and getting you looked at.
I can still fight.
I know. But...I can't risk loosing you buddy.
That was enough to convince him as they made their jump back towards safety.
Quote: Blasted all! As you jump Between to avoid a clump of Thread, the winds change, and when you appear from the icey depths, it's right into a major sheet of Thread! Heavy Damage: -8 HP! They also now suffer a Painful status for the next 3 turns. This will negate any XP gained, and cause double damage if the prompt includes damage (or has you roll for damage).
Roll 1: 15 (-5 HP and Fatigue) Roll 2: 13 followed by 1 Roll 3: 18 Luck gained negated by status effect Roll 4: 6 Roll 5: 1
Quote: Dragon and rider notes: Valseth has Thread score across his back. Flank and side. And his tail which thread had eaten through badly on one fork, Also thread scored on his right wing making it painful to fly. S'mol has thread score across his right shoulder going partly down his back.

BURNING ACES WING N'ori of Bronze Meigth HP: 37/42 Status Effect: Fatigue Effect For the next 3 rolled turns your dragon will suffer from Fatigue Effect. Any XP earned during those turns is negated. On the plus side, any negative status effect (i.e. additional Fatigue Effect, Guilt, Bitten Tongue, etc.) is also negated, since your dragon is too tired to care. The only exception is if you get a status that cures Fatigue or your Wingleader/Wingsecond rolls a status cancelling roll.) The wind up high was always a little rough, and jumping up right into it could come with bad side effects....like being immediately blown from formation. N'ori thumped Meigth roughly, pressing him back into place after they'd already ventured a little too hard, but..... Meigth was a little off. Great.

Quote: A clump of Thread falls right before you! Unfortunately, the wind pushes you and the Thread away from one another. With determination, you fight the wind, trying valiantly to get to the great enemy! You hop Between, hoping to get closer, and flame the Threads that threaten to fall through! Roll a D4 to see if you successfully Between!
Quote: Light Scoring! You get too close to Thread and some of it winds up tangling up with you. Ouch! Quick, Between again! Minor Damage -3 HP
The clump that Meigth was trying to flame was being pushed away, and N'ori took a moment to place the other dragons around them before he pushed his dragon to jump closer to it.
The wind had to have changed, pushing Thread where it hadn't been earlier and the two ended up too close. And while Meigth could handle pain well enough, he still hissed as the tangle wrapped around him.

Quote: This is such a mess! Thread is everywhere. The High Altitude Wing is always in the thick of it, and today is no exception. If you are a bronze, brown, or blue 30' or larger you find yourself getting hit by the wildly blown Thread! Moderate Damage: -6 HP!
There was thread being blown EVERYWHERE and some of it was right into both rider and dragon. The pair blinked away to a safer position, but N'ori couldn't help but already picture Nassiva's livid expression.

Hadn't they just done this? Meigth was having a rough time of it, and N'ori couldn't help but feel a touch guilty about it.
