Dratani
Well there was only a few places she had yet to search a second time. Not wanting to walk the length of the Weyr again, the Firestone Store was a bit closer

Dratani - It would be hard to miss a dragon in the Firestone Store under usual circumstances. Maybe it was because Ostarath was young that she thought it was a good place, even so the green still stood out rather considerably. When Dratani entered she hummed pleasantly. The basket was between her foreclaws and firelizards hopped and peeped about. Ostarath gave the basket a gentle nudge, indicating for Dratani to choose an egg.

Cyrille

Cyrille didn't leave right away. She played a bit in the hall before moving to the Hatching Sands and sat down, fingers strumming over the strings before she sanf along softly.

"Dragon o dragon
Hide deep and green
Hiding in the weyr in places unseen
With calv'cade of lizards and joy in your heart
Leading play and excitment in times most dark."

The brunette swayed faintly as she played, humming softly. Really, the Hatching Sands had wonderful accoustics.

A'no and Brown Hivapath
Well no one saw them coming or going because they weren't even given the option. The brown pulled up short as the green with her basket of eggs was pushed right into their path. Nice to see you Ostarath. A'nomine you should pick.

The boy nodded and smiled and he peered over the remaining eggs. "Have many had much luck finding you?" A'no asked the green as he finally picked #7 egg. Meanwhile, Hivapath would be trying to get his claws around an egg of his own. He'd found her too right? He should get to pick an egg. #26 looked just right to him.

M'tha and Green Glafateth
With her thirst quenched, Glafateth sat up with water dripping from her chin and her tail tip twitching. She must be here somewhere! "Why don't we try the Dining Hall? If you get too tired we can take a break. Ostarath isn't taking a break. M'tha sighed. "True. But there are a lot of places for her to hide. All we can do is try."

Candidate Verria
Nothing here except a couple dragons having lunch. Perhaps she'd stop by the dining hall later for some food. For now the candidate skipped down to the Hatching Grounds. Hopefully she'd be here someday soon to impress a dragon of her own.

V'lla and Brown Ardnamuth
Ardnamuth plopped up the long way to the star stones, but for nothing. There was no delightful choice of eggs for them here. He rolled his eyes at his rider. Where to now? I bet wherever you pick it's going to require me to walk down all these steps again. "Well of course! Everything else is down below." V'lla laughed. "Hmmmm let's try the weyrling barracks!"

Dratani let out the biggest sigh of relief to see a rather large green weyrling crpuched in the firestone store. By the fact she had a basket placed before her, and the fact that there had not been a dragon in here the last time she looked, this must be Ostarath. "By the golden egg of Faranth, I'm so glad to see you! I did not want to walk across the weyrbowl a third time!"

The harper had no dragon or firelizard to translate if the green said anything, but she knew the dragon could understand her. Crouching down she looked over the eggs, trying to hum something of a tune but wasn't that happy with how it was flowing. Her hand hovered over the colourful eggs, thought about it, then scopped up #20

"Young and old, large and small
Everyone can play
Before long found, and egg reward
And soon she is away"

Cyrille - The Hatching Grounds may well have good acoustics, but it didn't have an Ostarath.

Ostarath watched contentedly as A'no picked an egg. About a dozen so far. Spying Hivapath out of the corner of her eye the green stepped one leg in front of her basket, blocking the bigger and older brown from his attempts. One. She said firmly in a voice that didn't leave room for argument. Later maybe she would let people take a second egg, but for now there were still many looking for her. A'no and Hivapath had their new friend, there were still many who hadn't gotten one. Her eyes whirling a pleasant green the young dragon picked up her basket in her mouth once more and went loping off, leaving the pair behind.

M'tha and Glafateth - The Dining Hall was a good place to take a break. Not a great place to find Ostarath at the moment though.

Verria - The Hatching Grounds were a candidate's usual place to find a dragon, but there wasn't an Ostarath there at the moment.

V'lla and Brown Ardnamuth - Ostarath seemed to be purposely avoiding the Weyrling Barracks, lest her rider catch her there.

K'lir
So much for the Feeding Pens. Ostarath had been nowhere to be found around the herdbeasts. K'lir had spent a fair while leaning against the fence and wondering where she was. At least nobody was asking him where she was here. The Feeding Pens were out of the way enough that people didn't think to look for Ostarath's rider here. He was also a lot easier to miss than a green dragon, even a small one.

Pushing himself up from the fence K'lir supposed he should go and try to hunt her down once again. The Hatching Grounds seemed as good a place as any. The eggs would need heat, and if Ostarath was switching out the sand in her basket with warm sand then it made sense for her to revisit the cavern from time to time.

Mecesa
The children had enjoyed themselves at the lake. Skipping stones and playing in the shallows. It had kept them entertained for quite a while. It was still warm enough that most of them dried just from running around. Mecesa had made sure they rolled up their sleeves and trousers so their clothes didn't get too wet. Honestly playing in the water could keep them entertained for candlemarks on end normally, but eventually they remembered why they had ventured to the Lake in the first place.

Mecesa stood by as the group gathered together and tried to decide where the green dragon would go next. What did they know about dragons that could help? They were big. They could fly. They could breathe fire (Mecesa didn't point out to them that she was fairly certain that Ostarath couldn't fly or breathe fire). They began to excitedly chatter as one of the older ones said they knew where the Firestone Store was and that they should check there.

Mecesa drew the line at actually letting them inside the store. That was no place for children to be running around. Instead she held open the door so they could all lean their heads in to see if Ostarath had hidden in there.

S'lvar and Recareth
You should get a snack before heading back to work, Recareth said as he angled them downward. The flight had been pleasant and his rider seemed to be feeling much more relaxed now, as was he. Still he was aware that his rider needed food to keep up his work. Maybe he was already hungry, as the young man didn't disagree with the dragon at all.

Recareth touched down gently outside the entrance to the Dining Hall. He was too large to go in there anymore, but he would wait outside until his rider returned. Then they could walk back to the Weyrling Barracks together. S'lvar slid to the ground and gave his dragon an affectionate pat on the snout before heading inside.

K'lir - Ostarath had visited the Hatching Grounds several times, but she wasn't there when her rider came looking for her.

Mecesa - Ostarath looked up when the door opened, surprised when first one child head poked in, followed by several others. They weren't coming inside. Vaguely remembering something about this not being a good place to play the green got up and padded towards the door. The group of children were too young to impress to a firelizard, but she placed the basket down in front of them anyway. They would likely be excited to look at the clutch even if they couldn't bond to the eggs.

S'lvar and Recareth - The Dining Hall was busy as usual. There were plenty of snacks for S'lvar to grab, but no sign of Ostarath.

Mecesa

She hadn't looked inside herself, and when the group dissolved into excited shrieking and bouncing Mecesa thought maybe she should have. Looking in the Firestone Store herself she saw the green dragon looking back at them. Honestly, the creche worker hadn't expected to find the green, let alone to find her in the Firestone Store.

The children all backed up as the green came out of the Firestone Store so they could see her better. There was a great deal of cheering and bouncing in front of Ostarath. When the basket was placed on the ground however they all went quiet, shushing and whispering to each other as they crowded around to look at the eggs. Mecesa craned her head over and smiled at her charges. They were pointing and whispering about which egg was the biggest, the coolest, the smallest, the prettiest. Whichever feature they liked the most. All under the watchful eyes of their carer, a green dragon, and several firelizards.

"Come on then, you lot," Mecesa said brightly after they had been crowded around the basket for some time. "Ostarath has to go hide again so people don't find her." They knew they were too young for firelizards, all Weyr children learned that pretty early. Even then there was a great round of disappointed sounds and children asking if they could pleeeease have one. Ostarath had so many, just one. Mecesa had to go over it again that firelizards just couldn't bond to people as young as them, but when they were older they could have firelizards.

"Why don't you take one, Mecesa?" That question was met by another excited round of bouncing. That was perfect. If Mecesa bonded to one then it could live in the creche and they could help look after it and play with it. Mecesa was defenceless to the pack of pleading looks that turned on her. She glanced up at Ostarath and, sensing no resistance, stepped forward to crouch next to the basket. The children gathered around, eagerly pointing and telling Mecesa which egg was best. The woman looked over the clutch. Really it did just come down to looks, since she didn't really know if size or shape meant anything. Bigger might mean the bigger colours, but she had no frame of reference, nor did she particularly care. So long as it was the type to tolerate the children fussing that was all she hoped for.

Cautiously Mecesa reached out and took #11 from the basket. It seemed pretty big, a pale purpleish colour. The children all oo'd and ah'd at the egg she chose. "Thank you, Ostarath," Mecesa said, the sentiment echoed by the group of children. She led the group back to the creche, where they excitably set about setting up a warm place near the hearth for the egg. Then making a bed, and everything else they could think of for the new firelizard.

Cyrille

When she finished practicing, Cyrille wandered to stand at the Weyrling Barracks. She didn't go inside, but she did look curiously.

Cyrille - The Weyrling Barracks were usually a good place to find young dragons, and indeed there were several inside, but Ostarath was not among them.

Cyrille

Cyrille sighed, moving on to go back to the star stones, instrument in hand. She was quiet by noiw -- thouhghtful. Maybe soon she'd look for Robin?

Cyrille - The Star Stones had likely seen more visitors today than it had in the past turn combined. Ostarath wasn't currently visiting though.

Ostarath had been lounging in the Hatching Caverns, waiting to see if anyone would find her. The firelizards were scooping out cold sand and packing in fresh, warm, sand. They dutifully inspected the eggs for any signs of damage or distress. A blue gave a surprised peep, jumping back as egg #17 jerked towards him. They all froze, Ostarath's, comparatively large, head lowering to look at the basket. Out of the corner of her eye she saw egg #6 give a lurch, followed by #26. Around her the little firelizards began to hum eagerly.

Friends, Ostarath called out to the Weyr. The time for searching is over. The eggs still with me are hatching. There are twenty-five firelizards here in need of homes. We are in the Hatching Caverns. Anyone is welcome to join us. We have food for the little ones. With a little effort the green dragon shrugged off the sack she had been carrying, pulling it open with her teeth. The bag was full of scraps of meat that she and her firelizards had gathered. Even if nobody came to claim the young ones, there was enough meat here for her following of firelizards to ensure they were all fed. Plenty of firelizards lived wild within the Weyr, more wouldn't hurt.

As she called out to the Weyr Ostarath's eyes remained on the basket in front of her. Cracks began to cross along #26's rich yellow shell. Would they be the first? As though in protest #38 twitched, stirring #40 into motion. On the other side of the basket #18 jumped suddenly, colliding with #22 which gave a shudder as a thick crack split their bright shell. Ostarath felt it wouldn't be long until young firelizards began to fill the cavern. Already the adult firelizards had settled in with scraps of meat in their mouths, ready to fill the maws of the newly hatched. Ostarath hoped others would come. #12 spun in place as she watched. The clutch seemed so lively. It would be a shame for others to miss it.

Rules
- The remaining firelizards have different features they'll look for to bond. Some will look at the food offered, the emotion presented, some will be random.
- Characters must be over 10 turns to bond.
- Firelizards can bond to any character regardless of the number of firelizards they have.
- You may enter characters who have already got a firelizard from this event.
- There is no limit to the number of firelizards you can get from this clutch, we'll keep impressing until they're all gone.

Saris
Saris hadn't originally planned on seeking out Ostarath to chase firelizards eggs. She didn't want to stand out by impressing the 'wrong' colour, she didn't want to be bullied again like back at Telgar Hold. If she kept her head down and mouth shut maybe no one would suspect she was anything more then a quiet candidate and pay her no mind.

That was until one of the other candidates, louder and more confident, grabbed her hand and pull her along. Now she couldn't refuse and fight free without looking even stranger. Together they ran until they found the Green on the Hatching grounds, but something seemed off. A fair of adults were swooping and humming, they were hatching? Jerked forwards onto the Sands, Saris found herself pushed forwards and a handful of scraps slapped wetly in her hands. If she just sat still and didn't move, no one could say she was trying to impress more then she deserved or that wanted her.

Dratani
It had taken her the better part of the day playing hide and seek but she had been rewarded! The Harper had a pretty pinkish orange egg and had the beginnings of a song about the adventure, now how was she to care for it? Heat and sand to nest it in, that seemed easy enough. Begging for a pot or bowl from the kitchens no one would miss, she trotted off to the Hatching grounds for some sand.

Already she feared the egg was already growing too cool, hatching and caring for dragons and their kin was not part of her training after all. Seemed Ostarath had the same idea, warming her basket of eggs. If only finding her the first time had been so easy! The firelizards that followed her around starting making a commotion and humming, where had she heard something like that happening again?

The egg in her hands shifted, cracks starting to form along the shell, it was hatching! Quickly the harper darted across the sands to Ostarath, it seemed she had been carrying around food for them in case this happened. Looked like a lot of eggs were still unaccounted for, poor things.
