One after the other, Liam Blackwood, Imara White, Ashley Williams and Grant Caudwell are led back behind a set of double doors to a second waiting room beyond by a cheerful and bright eyed nurse with blonde hair. They are told to wait here; a doctor will see them shortly. If someone accompanied you, they are permitted to accompany you, however the nurse suggests that the main waiting room is much more comfortable.

It was that bad and they both knew it, or at least he did, but Dessie was going to be Dessie. Who else would she be after all? She was likeable, she really was, but she really should look after herself a bit more and maybe let other people. "Xander will look you over later." And she could be sure of that. There was no way she'd get past him, or one of his sisters, without them noticing and word getting to Xander about the shape she was in. At least he wouldn't have to worry, since he was being seen by someone now. He wouldn't worry any one of the three red headed Jacobs.
"I am surprised by how many are here." Though some did seem sick and not injured - like the two sharing a single blanket. Huddling into his hoodie more, grimacing as he moved, he sighed. He really needed to see the doctor, or nurse, or whatever and get handled. He might be an eternal, the wings he boasted when powered up proof of it, but that didn't mean he didn't take a beating in fights. It was rare he powered up, he was a lazy senshi, so it was no wonder he got hurt when he did power up and get into a scuffle.
"Notice anyone familiar?" He asked, dropping his voice so he wasn't heard.

Otto Moor, Desdemona Anais, Caerwyn Hesperos, Salem Thanatos, Cabhan Douglas and Erich Yaeger are all led, one after another, into a different waiting room, this one behind the front counter.
"We're just trying to make sure everyone gets seen at a reasonable time," says the nurse, a broad shouldered man with a thatch of sandy hair. "So we're moving you around to make sure that everyone is in the right spot; just to streamline the process, you know?"
He pats the shoulder of Caerwyn and disappears behind another door.

The lights go out.
Regardless of where you are in The Center, you are now suddenly in pitch blackness. Phone flashlights seem to work to an extent, but you can't seem to get any signal to call anyone; everything is oddly and suffocatingly dark.
"Just a power outage," says a voice, cheerful in the blackness. "Don't worry - we'll get it fixed in a trice!"
There's a shuffling sound. A murmur of voices.
Silence.

You are in total darkness.
Cell phones do not have signal. You may use your phone flashlight, but there are no lights anywhere otherwise, not even emergency lights. There is absolute pitch blackness, the sort of blackness that feels claustrophobic and almost tangible to the touch, a real and present thing.
Your character is free to try and figure out what is happening. If they try the doors, they will find them locked.
The nurses have all mysteriously gone as well...YOU ARE STILL FREE TO JOIN IN AT ANY TIME!
If you feel overwhelmed or uncertain as to what to do, OR if you would like ??? to happen to your character, please DM me or frayedflower on Discord! I'm happy to help walk you through things or talk to figure stuff out.

Liam BlackwoodGetting up from his seat he handed the blanket back to the female, thanking her softly for her kindness. "I hope you are seen soon." Since he doubted he'd see her again, he figured by the time one of them got out of here the other would be gone. When he got to the nurse, just as he passed into the back area, he asked about a blanket or two for himself. - he was cold. he had been kept warm by the offered blanket, and the warm body next to his. Now that he was away from both he was cold again, and he didn't like it.
When he got to the backroom, just as he was settling into a bed, the lights cut out and it went pitch black. "What...?" More to himself than anyone, or anything, else he went to reach for his phone so he could turn the flashlight on. "Anyone else here?" He knew people had been going back with him...but where were they.kuropeco Since you running things. ^___^

Ian BachLooking towards Dessie, the lights had gone out so he couldn't see her exactly, the dark haired male went for his cell phone. "I have almost full battery life...but no connection..." He whispered, for her only to hear. "I don't like this..." He added. He had lived here his whole life and he knew better than to trust something like this. There was no storm outside so it didn't make sense for the lights to just go out, and to lose his signal....that was even more telling.
"Dessie, stay at my side." Since she was already hurt, though who was more hurt was up for debate really.
"I have a flashlight app....." But should he use it? Would it provoke something? He didn't know and he didn't like the idea of taking a risk like that. "Should I use it?" Ian asked softly, so no one else could hear him. He was hoping she could give him an opinion he could go with. Cause he didn't like not using it but he wasn't big on the idea of using it either. He was waffling on using the flashlight on his phone. Damn it.

Erich JägerWell it seemed as though some agreed with him, though that didn't help with his shoulder that was still causing him pain. He wanted to yell out "NO!" to the guy that had asked about anyone seeing a triage nurse, but it would have been more from the pain than any anger, but he knew it wouldn't be taken correctly, and instead pinched himself a bit to take his mind off of the fact that he still hadn't been seen yet.
When the nurse had come though he had yelled out, "Finally!" As a few of them were led to... another waiting room! Erich groaned in agony. "Seriously?! I should just leave! At least a chiropractor might be able to see me earlier!" The whole situation was starting to get ridiculous.
He sat down again, trying to figure out if there was another place he could go to that was near here, when suddenly the lights went out and everything was silent. There was some shuffling, and he slightly wondered if that meant that the staff had abandoned all of them and he groaned again. "No... That's it, I'm never going to go to one of these Urgent Cares again. Straight to the ER it is for me."
He tried to see if he could get a signal on his phone, but no luck. He wondered if the signal was being blocked somehow in the building. He wouldn't be surprised. "Well, should we be expecting a jump scare from an inactive mechanical animal mech that was created for a certain pizza place?" Maybe if they were going to die here, he could throw himself at whatever it was first so it would kill him faster. At least his shoulder wouldn't be hurting anymore.

Shikora MjoliShe could wait her turn, and it seemed she would be waiting a long time. Shikora actually considered getting up and leaving. Overall, in comparison to some of the people in there, she just had what probably amounted to some cuts and bruises. Perhaps even some internal bruising. It would heal if she took care of it. Shikora had a pretty good idea of how to take care of it, too. After all, she was certified in first aid. She had taken plenty of biology classes, especially human-related classes. Shikora could handle this. She had just wanted a second set of eyes, but she could always get a second set of eyes the next day. Shikora fished out her phone to get a check on the time. 11:59? How long had she been-- The lights suddenly cut, and Shikora groaned quietly. A power outage? ... In a hospital? Didn't most of these places usually have backup power? So many hospitals depended on machines to keep their more critical patients alive. Was all the power diverted to that? Even if so, why was it so dark? Shikora didn't like this, she didn't like this at all. But they said they'd get it fixed in a 'trice,' so maybe she just needed to give it a few minutes, and then the power would just ... kick back on. Hopefully. It was a little odd she couldn't get a message to send to her sibling, though--

Xi-Wang
It wasn't like he was scared of the dark, far from it, but the lights suddenly going off? That was another story, at least in this city and here in such a place. He could remember the last incident in a hospital when the lights had gone out - he didn't want a repeat. "Please...not a do over..." He whispered to himself, already starting to curl in on himself in his chair. Dark eyes looked around hopelessly, as if they might see something...anything. It was useless though, and he knew it, dark eyes didn't have as good a night vision as lighter eyes...and if no one else was saying they were seeing anything than the odds of him spotting something were slim. He had remembered, a while back, reading something on blue eyes, some study published. He'd been looking up something on monolids, a girl in school had been shocked to notice his eyelids had no crease like hers. She'd apparently never noticed it before on an asian person. So when he'd been reading up on, just wanting to do so out of curiosity, the other article had come up.
Already he was going for his cell phone, hand shaking a bit, he took note of the diminishing battery life on his phone. it wasn't dead but...it wasn't the best.
Sighing he went to turn on the flashlight app, hoping to see nothing but people and maybe even a nurse. It would be nice to see someone in charge, but he doubted it somehow.
"Should have told Nischal....or Jason." Though they'd have fussed and fretted, and likely take him to the hospital. He now would worry them more if he didn't get home by morning...or if he was even more hurt when he got home. He didn't want to worry them....he owed them a lot.

Katie CatigernKatie didn't get what all the kerfluffle was about. She was fine.
All she'd wanted to do was take a nap before her next shift at work. It was a simple plan, really, except that she had trouble holding down a sleep schedule or staying in bed long enough to rest, not when she thought about the ugly things at her wonder. But melatonin kept her drowsy for a full night's sleep, and she only had time for a little bit of beauty rest before she went back to the pizza grind. So Katie did what she always did--she innovated, broke the mold.
It also meant drinking a cocktail of five hour energy and half a bottle of Benadryl in the hopes that the combined additive effect would produce a one hour nap.
What Katie discovered, in the spirit of inquiry, was that the two substances were never meant to meet, and in the aftereffects she was both irrevocably awake and violently ill. She'd been about to just call off and drive herself home when she was basically attacked by a preteen with balls on his feet. She'd even tried to tell him that there were balls on his feet, but what came out of her mouth was more of a...stylized zombie groan. If she had enough brain cells working in unison, she might have known what it was to regret. As it stood, she blundered into the waiting room with a Benadryl buzz after the boy who did not look like a frog (where did this kid come from) and waved vaguely at whoever was around.
"Whassup Destiny Citayyyyyyy," Katie slurred to no one in particular, giggling and leaning against Toby in the doorway with her hands thrown up. "Iss Saturday night, whos ready to turn up like a turnt-up turnip--"
And then the lights shut out, leaving Katie utterly alone in the darkness with her twelve year old boyscout escort. "Fuuuck--I mean, s**t, young ears--I mean--f--dang," she settled on, reaching out to feel for the door behind her, only to fumble at the locked handle. In the absence of light she was legitimately trying to be a responsible adult, but her thoughts were so...blurry, and the ground felt squishy and soft. Instead, she started to grab for her phone, using a flashlight app to squint into the vague darkness around her. "You still there, lildude?"

"No, " Desdemona answered quickly, and it wasn't a gut reaction this time; it was just the truth, pure and simple. "No, no, you didn't make it worse, you... you tried to help. You didn't set me free, but you did loosen the chains." And that said, she fell silent for a long moment, adding in a voice that was somehow even softer than before, "I think... I want to save the rest of that conversation home, if it's all the same to you." She felt strangely exposed in this florescent, sterile place all of a sudden. The timing was impeccable; moments later, they were called away to another room with a few others, and that seemed like progress. "Finally, " she remarked under her breath (quietly bemused that another of their little group echoed her sentiments in a much louder way), although she did make it a point to flash the doctor - nurse? - whatever he was a charming little smile and a word of thanks as they passed. A little sweetness might mean the difference between being the first and last person seen by the doctor, and Desdemona wanted Otto taken care of so they could head home already. She linked fingers with Otto as they headed into the other room, squeezing his fingers to try and remind him of the virtue of patience. Then, all at once, the lights went out - and immediately, Desdemona forgot all about the virtue she was trying to enforce and let out a ragged sigh of resignation. "That's it, " she announced, immediately getting back to her feet and fumbling for her phone, quickly flipping the flashlight on. "Enough is enough. Neosporin it is. Otto, let's go."

On a good day, Hitch would've snapped back at the ******** who was giving him a hard time - this was anything but a good day, and honestly, he only half-heard the words of protest. What he heard more was Rhys speaking up in his place without so much as a stutter, and although the tension and frantic edge didn't really leave him, something in his gaze did shift, his good eye widening in surprise. Because on bad days, here was Rhys - here he was, whether or not Hitch deserved for him to be there. He bit the inside of his cheek and sucked in a long, shuddering breath between his teeth - and clutching his husband's hand so tight, he kind of leaned over, propping the uninjured side of his head against Rhys' shoulder. He mumbled something (it was either a 'thanks' or another apology; he wouldn't remember which later) and tried to - not exactly relax, but keep from stressing his husband out any more than he probably already was because of him. "I don't wanna do it anymore, " he grumbled softly, just loud enough for his husband's ears. "Eurydike. I'm done. I'm ********' done." The minutes would pass, and slowly, he fell into a sort of half-doze, his eye shut and some of the tension seeping out of his body. Then, all at once, the lights went out - and Hitch immediately snapped into awareness again, a low growl of alarm slipping out of him as his pulse hammered in his own ears. "You gotta be shittin' me."
