June 2019 Academy: Social Studies Junior 1. Student randomizes between 1 and 23. The number rolled is the race they get. 2. Student describes the rolled race's courtship behaviors 3. Word count minimum is 150 words. You may not directly copy/paste from the race page. 4. ??? Profit!
Username: SSBrosB Student Name: Talia
Number Rolled: 18 - Nixie
Courtship Time!: Nixie courting! That was a bit interesting, at least in Talia’s opinion. She hadn’t really ever met a Nixie before and talked to them, but each race was so different in terms of courting rituals! Well, except for the ones that copied off of other races, but adapting wasn’t such a bad thing! And of course, there were always exceptions in those races! After all, she wasn’t too much into the geist “pranking” aspect of courting that was expected of her!
And so she wrote “Nixie, unlike a lot of other races, do not give any presents unless the other that they have been trying to court has shown interesting towards them. Usually, the interest will be followed after the initiator uses their gills to flirt with the one that they are interested in. Of course, the offered party may turn down the flirter-er. Unlike many other races, there are rarely ever any arranged marriages, which make them quite unique and would seem to give them a bit of an advantage compared to some others. It implies that they have enough Nixie’s that arranged marriages are not required for race continuation.”
It was a small summary, but it did make her want to go back to the library and read up on more courtship rituals…

June 2019 Academy: Social Studies Freshling 1. Student randomizes between 1 and 23. The number rolled is the race they get. 2. Student thinks of a defining trait from the race they've been assigned. 3. Word count minimum is 150 words! 4. ??? Profit!
Username: SSBrosB Student Name: Marion
Number Rolled: 20 - Naga
Defining Trait: Ooh, she got the snake race! They were so cool! Sometimes she even wanted to be one! Wouldn’t it be interesting to slither around all the time and then sneak up on others and scare them? She only wished she was part Naga! Ah well, being a sluagh was cool too! But could she write about the no-legs snake tail? That would seem too obvious wouldn’t it? Instead she decided to go with the other, also very cool, part of Nagas. Their fangs.
“Nagas have the coolest teeth! They have fangs and they can bite others and inject venom! Not like a sluagh, which is what also makes them really cool! They have a built-in defense system! I mean, it stinks to get bitten by one, I read that they can make you really sick for a while! But if you’re in danger, I think they’re awesome!” And with that assignment done, she would have to go and find a Naga herself, if only to take a look at those amazing fangs!

Username: SSBrosB Student Name: Jean Luc
Number Rolled: 12 - Fallen
Defining Trait: Jean Luc looked at his assignment and the race that he had gotten. Fallen were an interesting race to have to write about, and while the thought of writing about their wings, perhaps they had something more interesting that he could write about? And after looking them up and reading about them a bit more, he figured that he had found at least one interesting trait about them that he could write about!
“Fallen can be very, very smart if they put their minds too it. I’m actually somewhat jealous that they have such a strong mental constitution. In comparison to myself, a sluagh who has such large arms and hands and great agility, I can’t help but admit that I’m a bit jealous that most Fallen appear to have an innate ability to learn and keep that information. I hope to one day meet one and perhaps speak to them and see what they think!” It was a small paragraph, but Jean hoped that there was enough information in there to complete the assignment.
