Wander decided to try out another day on her own. No hard feelings, really. And hopefully no one took it the wrong way. She wasn't going to make it a regular thing, and she wasn't sure if she even could, but. Sometimes it really was nice to not have to keep track of everybody and worry that they were all content. Though, even now she was hoping everyone was okay. But they probaby were! Poe was with them. Poe could take care of them. And she...hm. She wasn't sure what she could do. Not enough, probably. That's how she usually felt. People weren't like magic tricks; they didn't come with instructions or procedures. Yes, there was etiquette stuff, but a lot of stuff could be unexpected, and that was stressful! And she felt like she made others more stressed than anything else sometimes.

She just sighed and worked for a bit, helping piling up cargo. As it finished up, she had to pause. Wander looked around to see if anyone was there. Coast clear, she altered the labels. She could do that much, though she didn't feel good stealing like this.

Talk about a disappearing act, Abby commented with a chittering laugh.

"Y-yeah, I guess..." Wander still felt too mopey to smile at the joke, though.

She went back over to where other trolls were gathered and working to see what else she could do. Among them, she saw a familiar face.

Tsarzi! So this is where she disappeared to sometimes. Hopefully...she wasn't getting sick of Wander's group. Or Wander herself. Oh. Oh jeez. That might be the worst thought ever. Without being an actual culling thought or anything. Wander never really thought someone could get tired of her. Maybe that was the case? Though Tsarzi was independent in general... But Wander didn't know for sure.

Wander swallowed. Almost paralyzed at the thought. Feeling almost truly alone, between separating from her group and the idea that someone she liked hanging out with might kinda not like that at all. But she couldn't just stand there, either. Or run away, as much as she kind of wanted to. Instead, she slowly made her way over, though it was hard to swallow her nerves after thinking something so bad. She tried to stay out of the way but also be presentable enough in case any help was in fact needed. "U-uh. H-hi. I-Is there anything I-I can do...?"

3: A local reporter, or perhaps just a curious bystander with a microphone asks what it's like to work on the ground crew. They only have time for a couple generic questions about your experience before being escorted away by security.

"Api-bomb! Api-bomb, do you have a moment! Please, we just have a few questions!"

The reporter's frantic attempt to get their attention startled them for a moment, earning a wide-eyed stare for a few seconds until they spotted the camera. Oh dear. They hoped that wasn't going to get published anywhere. Reporters were not supposed to be allowed in the operations area, were they? Api flashed a smile anyway, and bowed their head a little as they stepped closer to the reporter. "Oh I'm surprised you recognized me! I'm all kinds of dirty, ahaha. I think I can answer a couple of things, but I really should get back to work!" They rubbed their hands on the front of their work uniform which was, in fact, quite messy. Despite their attempts to wash it, the dirt just never seemed to want to come out completely.

"Anything is good. How are you liking it here? Is the progress that's being made meeting schedule?" The reporter didn't seem too phased by their reaction and instead brought out a notepad and began scribbling as they fired off questions.

Right... This was different from the time they'd spoken to Avvisi, or Razzle Dazzle during the competition. "It's very nice here, a real example of everyone coming together for the betterment of Alternia, all hues involved in their own ways to get us toward our goal." Api nodded, noting that the Reporter didn't seem to be writing everything down exactly as they'd said it... That was concerning. "Things are... on schedule, yes... Oh, I don't- um, i don't think you're supposed to be here." They noticed that a rather angry military official seemed to be stomping their way.

"I- I have to go, uh, good luck!" Not wanting to get caught in that mess, they turned heel and trotted away as fast as they could. Nope- nope nope. They didn't want to deal with any yelling if they could help it. They just hoped they didn't get into too much trouble for talking to the reporter... It wasn't like they'd said anything bad!

They glanced over their shoulder to see what was going on with the official. Oooh they looked really pissed off. Yelling, gesturing, the whole nine yards. The notebook the reporter had been writing on was snatched right out of their hands, and their camera was also confiscated. Api knew they were not really supposed to be around, but they could not help but think that was a little harsh. Would they be allowed to retrieve their belongings once everything was completed...?

Wait. Would anyone be allowed back into the area after it was all done? They had closed down the Chittentown Space Tower after its completion before- but Api had assumed that was because of all of the bad things that happened. Maybe... they were all just working on a project they would not be able to go visit ever again without joining the military once it was completed.

Now there was a thought they had not considered. It seemed that the military got up to all sorts of things... and they could maybe make a name of themself there- or at least, not be so easily forgotten if they worked hard enough.... But at the same time, that probably meant they would have to fight things and Apibom was not exactly keen on fighting. Violence was normal and all but they rather liked not having to get involved in confrontation. Most lowbloods were expected to be passive, after all. At least with highbloods.

Apparently the military officials were to get permanent handprints added into cement blocks. This did not matter much to Floren, until he ended up saddled with the job of having to pour said cement block for the officials to stick their hands into. That was not something he wanted to do. But, he was not one to talk back or openly shirk his duties. And this was not a duty he could just try to pass on to someone else. No, they knew exactly who they had assigned to the task and if someone else showed up to do it, they would know he had disobeyed them. And he could not have that, could he?

He was at least thankful that he did not have to mix the cement himself, at least not by hand. The machine was doing all the work for him, all he needed to do was carefully pour it into the mold and then smooth it out. Should be simple, right? Not really- the machine was unwieldy and the cement moved painfully slow. He knew it was going to be slow, just... not this slow. He stifled a yawn, watching the gray stuff ooze lazily into place, wishing he could be doing just about anything else. Really. Anything else would be more fun than this.

Once it was full enough, he shut off the machine and then picked up one of the flat edged tools he needed to smooth the lumpy cement out. Carefully he set to work making sure that it coated the mold evenly, not one bit out of place. It took him a few minutes to get it right - thankfully this stuff would take a few hours to dry - but once he was finally done he took a step back and admired his work. Clearly, it was something to be admired. At least it was, until someone working near by flagged down the officials that were to place their hands in it.

It was like flies on a corpse, or something. Floren found himself knocked aside as a few of the trolls pushed their way in, each one obnoxiously slapping their hands down into the slab. All that hard work... gone. Or at least, messed up beyond repair. He stared at it for a while, trying not to feel too... what was the word... Annoyed? Yes, annoyed. He knew that this was going to happen from the start, yet seeing it in action was quite aggravating. And the way they made a show of it only made it worse, somehow. Maybe... he could sneak a print of his own, if they were going to be showy about it.

Floren waited until the crowd had dispersed, half hoping that a few of them would get stuck trying to peel hardened concrete from their hands. He had seen a foolish volunteer fall into a vat on concrete earlier. Some poor troll had gotten saddled with chiseling them out. It took most of the night. Once he was sure the coast was clear, he approached the still hardening concrete to inspect it. It figured, they'd taken up all of the space leaving not a single bit of it for anyone else to stick their hands in. Some had even gone so far as to draw their symbols. Was that allowed..? Oh well, it wasn't his problem anymore.

5. Boxing and unboxing! So many parts to ship! You are on “put these carefully in a box” crew. The joy!

Tsarzi was rolling her shoulders and stretching out a bit to make sure nothing cramped up. After helping unload supplies and materials, she’d continued to assist in assembly and broke off to finalize one of the transmitter installations when another volunteer recognized her and cal calling for help. When she got back, they were already taking care of the finishing touches.

The ground crew she’d worked with were in high spirits and after putting up with some heart back slaps and chatter, they stopped trying to eke a reaction out of her. Not that she much recognized it, but the other trolls were playfully ribbing at her and found her stoicism rather amusing. As it was though, work was done here and it was time to head out to the next site or take breaks or attend to other matters as needed.

As Tsarzi was taking one last look over the area and preparing to make her break from the group, she heard an increasingly familiar voice pipe up.

"No," Tsarzi offered simply, still finishing stretching her arms. "I'm heading to Delta 4A there's work to do there if you want."

Wander is the one that offered to work with Tsarzi initially and the was looking for somewhere to help so the proposal seemed right to her.

The other trolls Tsarzi had been working with, a slightly older bunch, chuckled good naturedly and one cut in.

"What she means to say is we just wrapped up here, there's really nothing left to do," he jovially explained and reached to pat Tsarzi on the head only to get swatted for his trouble. Tsarzi didn't see why he was clarifying this information, but fine, his air to spend. She didn't even bother to glance at him as he chuckled and waved them off. "Delta 4A and 4C need to get started though, they could use you there."

Tsarzi blew a long sigh out her nose. These trolls were very friendly and while it wasn't bad per say, she certainly saw that they worked well despite wasting breath on laughter and jokes. They weren't bad company, but Tsarzi was beginning to crave some time alone or at least with quieter company, making Wander a welcome change of pace. Tsarzi gave a short jerk of her chin towards the transports while looking at Wander, beginning to move already. They could talk and walk if that was what was wanted.

"I'll probably start with some boxing, I need to take some lighter work for now."

"Ah..." So the crew was all done here for real. Wander wasn't fast enough. That kind of sucked. But. But! But- she wasn't being told to bugger off. You lose. No one likes you. Go home.

Okay. Cool... Tsarzi just told her what was up, and where to go next. Nothing to worry about! Phew. Some other troll from the group, very different from Tsarzi herself, piped up and commented basically the same thing that Tsarizi was trying to put across. But in a way she guessed was easier to understand. Did they think that she wouldn't get it? Hm.

The thing was that she knew Tsarzi a little, so she still got it. Not that the other trolls seemed to be aware of that. She couldn't blame them any. Just trying to help... "Ahhhh... Th-thank you..." Never hurt to be polite! Pay it forward and all that.

Other sites to go to. And Tsarzi was going with her? She guessed? The blueblood wasn't walking off, anyway. Wander found herself breathing a little better, though she still needed to stim some. "O-okay! I-I like boxing." Not that it mattered if she liked the work or not. She knew that much. Did help when she had some idea what she was doing, and didn't feel imcompetent doing it. "S-sometimes when I b-box stuff i-it r-reminds me of 12th Perigree's... Th-that will be soon, huh?"

As she continued to box, the orangeblood would occasionally move them to another block afterwards for temporary storage. In that space, she caught sight of some unlabelled boxes. No one would see if she just...

After she finished another round of marking, she said, "I'm g-gonna drop these o-off and g-go to th-the bathroom quick... Be r-right back."

Of course, while she was gone, she actually reclaimed those other boxes for the Initiative and moved them to be picked up. All while no one saw. Nice!

She came back as quick as she could, though. "O-okay! H-here I am... S-so... H-how much m-m-more b-boxing d-do we want to to?"

6. Panili frets after an unfortunate chemical spill, and you take it upon yourself to volunteer for clean up crew.

Tsarzi was not inclined to idle, which was why she had decided on boxing. It was simple, methodical work. Not the same as taking a real break, but Tsarzi was feeling a little restless. A break now would just put her in a mood, which would be likely to interfere with her ability to work and cause more issues. No, a break right now was not to her liking.

Lupos would pose the possibility that maybe that restlessness is all in her head and just her creating a problem because she didn’t want to take a break. He would. But that wouldn’t get him very far and fighting with this kid was too exhausting to be worth it right now. If she hurt herself that was on her, she knew better.

He was lying in wait to remind her to get a drink of water or something at least.

Perhaps the work could quickly become numbing for some, but Tsarzi took well to it. She examined the boxes, the contents, the rooms, the equipment she saw pass by, cataloging trolls and tidbits of information just in case. There was chatter. But most trolls working boxing were speaking in softer tones or keeping to themselves and she found wander to be an unobtrusive presence in this case.

“Just a few weeks, yes,” Tsarzi replied simply, confirming the thought. Boxing did little but remind Tsarzi of boxing. She herself hadn’t received or given 12th Perigree's gifts before. She often opted out of what troll traditions she could afford to and the whole thing was a commercial holiday she saw little point in partaking in. The custom of giving gifts to a friend was all well and good, but you could do that literally anytime ever. Having a time dedicated to it though, the pomp and circumstance of the whole thing, drummed up by the media, it was just a way to drain wallets of beetles.

Tsarzi paused for a moment.

Furs would make wonderful gifts.

Suddenly the mental gears shifted tracks and 12th Perigree's went from being a pointless affair to a ripe business opportunity Tsarzi would most certainly be looking into later.

Tsarzi gave a small nod as Wander took off and Lupos swooped in to hassle her into getting a drink and maybe thinking of something else to do. Like a break. Tsarzi eyed him blandly across the rim of her cup and Lupos knew the mutinous thoughts in her head even without any other visible sign than the boxing of her shoulders. He tried.

Tsarzi was not boxing when Wander returned, but looking across the way at a rather large chemical spill spreading and noted the familiar horns hovering around nearby.

“Enough boxing for now. They could use some help over there, that needs cleaned up as soon as possible,” Tsarzi said. There wouldn’t be much of anything that could get done in that area without that getting fixed.

"U-uh, okay." To the system, Wander was a criminal, doing criminal activity (not that she really could help it, all things considered) but that didn't mean she had to be a bad person all around. Right? She wanted to do good things, even though maybe not everyone would agree that her efforts were good. So. She went to go help, and even though the older trolls wanted the children to steer clear of it (maybe they thought kids were utter wigglers and wanted to touch literally everything) Wander at least got to hold the hose. She didn't know these trolls, but maybe Tsarzi did. Even if Tsarzi didn't, it meant she was being a good samaritan! Now...if she recalled correctly, higher castes were supposed to be overseers of the lower castes, like mentors and nannies or something like that. But in actuality, she was aware of how normal it was for them to be exploitative and selfish. Tsarzi kept seeming to be different. Better in some ways than how Wander expected (though she knew it would mean all highbloods were better than this) and also just...different.

Maybe the most unique child Wander had ever met in her life. Maybe the most unique child she'd ever meet. So serious...

But, eventually the spill was taken care of. And there were still more boxes...

"I'm g-glad that w-worked out okay. I-I-I th-think I'm g-gonna w-work on these b-boxes a little more th-then take a-another q-quick break!"

Wander worked as methodically as she could, unfolding cardboard into boxes, packing materials neatly, then fighting with the tape to secure them. Who knew that tape dispensers could be so hard? Especially the ones that cut off the tape on their own?

"Ahhh..." Eventually she grew a little tired of it. But she had taken care of the boxes. More 'presents'. Wander moved them out, one by one, and as they were waiting for deployment...she marked them like her previous boxes. No one would tell them different from any other boxes ready to go, and they would end up where the rebellion would need them. Score!

Now if only more chances to help would crop up so she could feel...a little less terrible about doing these things under a friend's sniffnode.

Maybe she could get a drink for Tsarzi at least? Hm. And soon she should check on her other friends. Wander considered getting a bunch of drinks and passing them around while checking up on everyone.

Quote:
8. You help finish up paperwork, managing to look too busy to bother as a crowd of touring military trolls wanders by.

Tsarzi approached the spill with the surety of a troll that came to work and the idea of telling her no would be the most absurd statement you’ve have ever made in your life. Already they had a a few trolls stepping up to offer assistance and were trying to contain the edges of the spreading concoction. Tsarzi readily inserted herself into the trolls that were spreading sand at the edges. There wer e afew older trolls that made motions to stop her but Tsarzi was quick to tell them to quit wasting time and do their job. Responses were varied but she didn’t bother to stop and listen and none of them chased her as she continued the perimeter with the sand. Once the spread was stopped, the troll that was in charge of transporting the vats had returned with the proper neutralizing agent that now needed spread.

Tsarzi met more solid resistance this time and deemed the task better suited to the clumsy fools who thought she couldn’t do it. If they wanted to fumble about and hurt themselves when they trip into the mess, because she knew her coordination was better than some of the teens they were gathering up to do that part, then so be it. She took more of the sand and shored up the edges where the sand was soaked through and more chemical was leaking out.

Eventually the clean up was through and the mess swept away with water.

Tsarzi blinked at the statement and gave a simple nod to Wander. Tsarzi felt like she could go for some heavier work again but Lupos was quick to disagree, posing that perhaps cleaning off since Tsarzi had been so close to the spill would behoove her. The scent that clung to her clothes and skin from proximity alone was burning his nostrils and made the inside of his mouth tingly if he breath in the air too close to her. Rather than fight him on that point, she had to agree, cleaning off would be a smart plan. She hadn’t got any of the gunk on her but the smell would stick around and possible airborne exposure to harmful chemicals wasn’t worth it. Her own nostrils had a light burn in them, despite trying not to breath in the air from too close.

By the time that was said and done, Tsarzi found the site had progressed quite solidly with the amount of workers and they were approaching the end. Most of the heavy lifting and harder work was already squared away and machines and equipment were being shipped out to the next site as they were no longer needed here.

Tsarzi took a quick walk around the site, checking in on the transmitters and tuning any setting not quite to the numbers from the specs.

Through with that, there wasn’t far too much more to do but shoo away the media, not something Tsarzi was interested in right now, and paperwork. Paperwork then, where she would staunchly ignor the media and military trolls stomping around like the eyesores they were. They could do something useful but instead they were taking tours.

Eyzaak had been behind the game in terms of helping collect stuff, but it was never too late to get started he figured. The blueblood wanted to make his leader proud. He wanted to make a difference in their home, it had been discussed at great lengths during that meeting had it not? Really, anything to make the lives for the other rebels was important to the boy. So, if collecting stuff really was that important to Byakko then Eyzaak would make sure to do everything he could. Even if that meant getting his hands dirty, Eyzaak loved manual labor.

Figuring out where to start was the only hard part, in truth. Noticing how some trolls simply kept themselves busy, the boy tilted his head. Maybe that was all there really was too it? Sure, it seemed likely enough he supposed.

Surveying the site, the blueblood got to work as he moved around the campsite busying himself with working. It was pretty easy to fall into a rhythm and get into a routine. Humming pleasantly, he nudged his lusus into helping to give them both the appearance of being hard at work. Eyzaak lost track of time as he worked, occasionally catching sight of a few familiar trolls although he mostly kept to himself that first night.

Sundry gave him a pouting almost child-like look as he was prodded into working. Although the lusus did not complain about it for long, when he saw Eyzaak's earnest expression it was hard to deny. Usually, their buddy didn't ask a lot of him, so this was not an easy request to deny, even if it meant pushing boxes around and helping pack things up. Besides, it meant Eyzaak would owe him later, even if it was something as childish as playing together.

At some point, the blueblood saw an opportunity arise. When he was left alone with several boxes, he began replacing labels. Thanks to the little bit of reading practice with Wander, he had a better handle on basic words. Smirking, the child admired his handy work as the important boxes were switched out with the plastic wiring. The idea was simple, they all had a system for snagging the goods. Based on everything he had noted tonight, these boxes would be sorted accordingly. Which was exactly what he wanted to see happen.

When it came down to it, the job was simple. Package boxes, and find a few select steals to make off with. He carefully marked the excess supplies with discreet tape in order to identify them, This, of course, meant they were inconspicuously labeled and would make them easy to identify for pick up arrangements later. Eyzaak didn't linger for long, not wanting to call attention to those boxes he had set aside. Working for the rest of the night, he eventually ran out of steam as he exhaled noisily. "We did good Sundry dontchya think?" He grinned, reaching out for his companion and scooping him up into his arms to hug tightly.

Voscil had some work to do, especially if she wanted to make the most use out of her time on ground control. Reemus surely was doing all he could, as was Etsali and Ephias along with all her fellow Initiative members. Voscil had to do the same. Without Mamaju to keep her company, it made her feel a little strange to be down here mostly acting on her own accord. The yellowblood teen had to admit, it wasn't so bad. She used to keep herself entertained all the time back when she lived in the city. It was a good use to put her psionics to use as she moved from one spot to the next in little burst of lightning energy. She didn't mind if anyone saw her psionics, this disguise equally showed off its powers. Sorine Walker was her newest default go to disguise as it more closely resembled her blood color. The only part that sucked was the contacts that Sparky had made.

She would just have to re-friend a few trolls..or find a discreet way of breaking the ice whom she was. Vos craved social interaction. Hell, she even missed Chiara at this point. The other troll might have had her wrapped around her finger, but at least she helped her get out and about into the city. Which meant she could spoil Reemus by bringing him into town, or gifts back for the other rebels. Sometimes that meant supplies, other times that meant little goodies for the kids.

Before too long, Voscil did as she had been instructed. There was a pre-arranged meetup point. A piece of paper was slipped into her hand as one of the other Initiative members passed along her information. She wouldn't be able to work in another sector as she had made herself part of the crew in this area, but she knew just who to pass this along too. Grinning, she promised she would get this over to who could complete the delivery pronto. It felt a little weird to be sneaking about so openly. If this is what she needed to do however to get the message across who was she to complain?

Besides, it was for a good cause.

Parting company, Voscil went back to work after she moved the message over to who it would be best suited to take care of. For what it was worth, she found it pretty easy to get work done. She wasn't a big fan of hands-on work like this, but if it perhaps made their living situation that much better how could she turn down an opportunity like this one? Honestly, it made her work harder. She didn't want to always struggle. If they could make headway in even the smallest way possible that alone drove her to work harder. By the time the end of the work night came to be, Voscil had worked up a sweat. With any luck, she would be able to grab a bite to eat with the other workers. Her growling stomach reminded her she had expended a lot of energy to work as hard as she had.

More... more concrete work. Apibom was very, very hesitant to go through with this task but it was not exactly easy to get out of any duties that were passed on to the volunteers so... they just had to make do. Thankfully, this time it seemed that they did not have a team of other trolls to work with and were instead just making slabs for officials to stick their hands into. That seemed easy enough- and pretty relaxing, honestly. It was just what they needed- they had decided after the last incident with concrete that they were definitely not interested in pursuing any kind of construction job in their life at all ever. Ever.

Api set to work carefully filled the mold they needed with the concrete, then smoothed out the top. It honestly looked pretty soft like that, and the urge to stick their own hand in was incredibly hard to resist. But, they managed to set that aside long enough to signal to the officials that it was time.

Perhaps they should have moved out of the way first. Api found themself unceremoniously shoved to the side and nearly trampled by a few of them. Nursing a sore foot, they hobbled off a few feet to the side and then sat down on the ground. They were already tired and now they hurt. More than just the general hard labor aches. They allowed themself to sit still for a few minutes, at least until the bulk of the aching stopped, then pushed themself up to go find something else to do.

8: You've been tasked with the most important responsibility of them all: lunch detail. The number of trolls clamouring for your attention is immense and rowdy, but ultimately grateful. You've never handled so many sandwiches in your life. You still smell like ham the following night.

Cement block handled, Api made their way back to the task headquarters of the site to go sign themself up for something new. Hopefully it wouldn't be anything too physically demanding- they were starting to get very worn out already. Perhaps they should take a rest night or something. As soon as they stepped into the office of the troll assigning duties, they were ordered to head to the cafeteria to help with handing out lunches. Oh boy.

They'd never seen so many sandwiches in their life. Or so many trolls desperately wanting their attention. It was actually kind of rewarding, reminding them of the time they'd made some lemonade to pass out to workers. The task was in fact physically demanding, but Api found that the gratefulness from the other workers made it worth while and not really noticeable. By the time lunch duty was over, they were certain they'd be smelling like sandwiches for the next week.

The helped the others on lunch duty take down the set up and wash dishes, finally feeling the energy start to drain from their body. It seemed like their arms and legs were made of lead. They really, really needed a nap or something. After putting away the last plate and bundle of cutlery, they wobbled out of the kitchen to go find their dorm. A nap wouldn't hurt, right? They'd get along just fine even if one volunteer went missing.

2: Needless to say, the excitement around the site has generated a lot of buzz. You and a number of other trolls are tasked with keeping on-lookers away from the perimeter and out from underneath the treads of oncoming equipment.

This was the final site they needed to work on. Floren was absolutely blown away by the amount of progress they had been making over the past few weeks. Truly, this would go down in history as a prime example of all trollkind coming together to better Alternia and it working out fantastically. To be involved in it was definitely an honor.

At least, that was what he was going to keep telling himself every time he got tasked with less than interesting jobs. This time it was to keep reporters blocked. Again. He enlisted Skoli's help once more, summoning the massive lusus to surface and lay himself out in front of the crowd. From there, he positioned himself near Skoli's rear to block view for reporters that were foolish enough to try and move to the back to get past him. Reporters near his head would be met with a rather horrifying screech and several rows of razor sharp teeth threatening to remove any limbs that dared to go past the fence.

Eventually, the crowd of reporters gave up and turned to leave. In due time, Floren was sure they'd get their chance to look at the results of their work. Probably. Likely only military sanctioned reporters, but reporters nonetheless. Duty done, he patted at Skoli to let the worm know he could go back under the ground again. With surprising ease, the massive creature dove back under the surface, easily covering up his tunnel after doing so. For safe measure, Floren decided to carefully tap down the dirt to re-firm it. Couldn't risk having soft spots in a construction zone.

5: You witness a lowblood being dragged out of their hive, kicking and screaming, by a squad of drones. Your crew then moves in to rig explosives inside their unfortunately placed home.

Ask and ye shall receive. Floren could not help but regret his earlier desire for a more interesting task. While he did not really think lowbloods were all that special, seeing one dragged from their hive and then being told to go in and rig it to explode was rather uncomfortable. That lowblood would likely end up on the street, more likely to contract disease or get themself killed. What a waste... Yet at the same time, surely the lowblood had known the construction was going on. Surely something could have been done to prevent this outcome.

When it was time to move in, Floren trotted along with his group and entered the hive. It seemed the lowblood hadn't even gotten their things moved. What a shame... He rigged up the room he was in charge of with the explosives, then quickly fled the hive to go join the others of his group at the safe meeting zone. The hive exploded in a display of sound and fire moments later. Hopefully that troll's lusus wasn't still inside... their chances of survival would drop to near none, Floren was sure of it.

At least, if they didn't join in any of the gangs around Chittentown, anyway. Floren had heard there were groups of lowblood kids that stuck together in tight knit communities. That in and of itself was some form of protection, even without a lusus.

Since the hive was demolished, it was time for the clean up crew to move in and get rid of the debris. Floren turned to head back to the task headquarters-- maybe he could go do something with the forklifts for the rest of the night. That seemed more interesting.
