"Thanks, Master!" He could feel his master's gentle hand on his back, as he looked over the prizes he was gonna choose. He was too old to play with toys, thus he decided to pick something for Rex instead. There were many kinds of stuffed animals to choose between, none that Rex would like. One stuffed toy stood out of all the ones to choose between, though: A blue fish. Perfect!
"That blue fish, please," Kai asked the guy behind the stall, who nodded and reach for the selected toy. While the man behind the stall was grabbing the toy Kai had picked, 4 golden earrings grabbed his attention. Instinctively, Kai grabbed them as his second prize, made 4 holes in his ears with clawshaped lightning on his fingers and put them on. Once the fish was in his grasp, he turned towards Misaka and Master Clement.
"I'm picking this fish for Rex and these earrings for myself," he stated, with a smirk.
A bit startled, The announcer blared out across the festival for the night sky display to start at any moment. Kai was a bit disappointed that it would start earlier than expected, seeing as his competition with his rival had not concluded yet. Kai turned towards Misaka and said,
"I guess our competition will have to conclude at a later date, buddy!" Just as he had finished his sentence, Rex came flying over.
"Kai! There you are! You left me all alone by the food stalls. Not that I'm complaining, though," Rex cried out with a drool dripping down the side of his bottom lip, rubbing his round belly at the same time.
"Rex! Sorry for leaving you behind, I was playing games with Misaka and won this fish plush for you!" Kai chuckled, holding out the fish in front of Rex, who got ecstatic at the sight of the stuffed animal.
"Thank you so much!" Rex cried out, cuddling with the fish so tight it would seem like it would pop at any moment. Kai laughed at the sight of Rex and his new toy.
"Anyways, we're headed for the night sky display now. Let's go, partner," Kai grinned and signaled for Rex to follow. Rex woke up from his blissful state and flew after Kai & Co., with the fish clasped between his paws, as they walked towards the crowd of spectators, anxiously waiting for the show to start.
"Let's show them all the most spectacular night sky display the world has ever seen!" Rex cried out with a wide grin, to which Kai simply shouted,
"Hell yeah!" Kai lifted his arms triumphantly at the same time as he responded to Rex's statement. Finally, they all approached the destination.
