Mik didn't turn around to face Melody but instead made a dismissive gesture as if dismissing a servant.
"Your problem." he said, in a quiet, cold sort of way that was reminiscent of his father. "Is that you don't know when to go away."

"Why are you so cruel to me?" she asked out of sheer frustration.

Whining didn't even get rewarded with a comment, instead he'd spotted Malkam again and was giving him a very concerned look.

Melody just stared at the back of his head in building frustration, "Mikael, seriously, what is wrong??"
The more he ignored her, the more agitated she got. Eventually something snapping and she reached down, scooped up a ball of snow and flung it towards the back of his head. She didn't even bother to wait for his reaction and walked off ahead to go see everyone else. Apparently Melvin was here, much more mature conversation.

Micah opened his mouth to protest the teddy bear comparison again, then closed it, mollified, as Gretchen decided that he didn't look too cuddly. "I'm not," he muttered. Then someone grabbed his arm, and he yanked it out of the guy's grasp, affronted. He scowled at the guy, who was, apparently, the weirdo's brother. "I wasn't hitting on him, he was hitting on me," he objected, "and look, man, I'm not gay, don't even start."

"Well!!! Me neither! But," Malkam gestured fruitlessly.
He wasn't sure what he wanted exactly out of this encounter. Mik's honor had been...bismirched, kinda, but it wasn't like he wanted this guy dating him!
"Look," he said, voice low, "you just go over him and tell him...tell him you're already dating, like, someone else, but otherwise he's really...cute, or whatever, okay??!"

Gretchen pressed her lips together, keeping the bubbling laughter trapped behind clenched teeth, but only barely. If she kept this up, though, she was going to strain something. Devi have an exasperated, irate hiss that the trainee paid no mind to.

Mik felt the icy snow slide down his collar and turned on his heel, his weapon drawn, the runes blazing brightly and just looked down the scope at the back of Melody's head before exhaling and desummoning it.
<> his weapon said.

Micah just stared flatly at Mik's brother. "No. I am not -- Look, if you're his brother, you should tell him not to just, like. Go up to people and ask them if they want to have sex. It's weird."

Melody just strutted right up to Melvin, paying Mik, nor his weapon, any mind. "Melvin!" she shouted as loudly at the man as she had Mikael just moments ago.

About to leave, he jumped when he heard his name shouted and turned about. "Uh....hello Melody." He glanced to see if Shu was still building a snowman despite telling him that they were being summoned to the Lighthouse.
She still seemed to be doing just that, and hoped she wouldn't get punished for prioritizing frozen tiered snow-people over an actual mission.

Melody smiled brightly at Melvin, a bit too brightly. "Everything is terrible without you," she admitted outright.

Melvin stared at her for a moment and, not sure if it was the correct course of action, slowly opened his arms.
Why was her face wet?

Melody swooped in to hug Melvin tightly. She was still really upset about Mikael who was just the worst to her every time and she didn't get why. But the fact that everything was falling apart too. She was just so tired of it. All of it. Moving out of her own accord was even a mistake. No one appreciated it or cared.

Not sure what was happening, he closed the hug and gave her a reassuring little squeeze. "What happened?"
