Rep arrived as promised, Sammy stepped back the moment Rep went for the horsemen. She didn’t do anything simply standing back as Rep went about restraining the prisoner. When he was done he turned holding the cuffs at her, she couldn’t argue against him on that one. There was a long pause and Sammy moved to hold her hands out but remained at a distance.
Her flames continued to flicker studying Rep, “If I let you put those on, you promise to hear me out and if you send me to Halloween you do it with a portal. Not dissipation.”

"Look b***h." Rep said, practically bristling, his normally hair trigger rage even moreso than ever. "You don't get to negotiate here. There is no "I'll put them on IF" there is only a putting them on or dying. You don't get to ******** negotiate." And gesturing for her to get her hands behind her back, he irritably tapped his foot.
"And there won't be any ******** portals either, regardless of what you choose."

Lawrence found the camp after quite a bit of meandering around. He had stopped charging directly and now was slowly circling the dot, making his way through the jungle with as little sound as he could possibly manage. It took some time, but he'd ceased caring about time.
Finally he found what had to be a pair of perimeter guards, one a famine horseman no question, dressed in long robes strung with bones and the colour of leather and dust. The other was less familiar, possibly conquest though he couldn't be sure. He didn't think he could take both of them, possibly not even one of them, so the solution was to try and get past. If they had been War he'd have reckoned his chances less, but everyone here was out of their element and maybe, just maybe he could get past them.
Slowly, very very slowly, he moved, freezing dead in his tracks like a cat when they so much as looked in his direction. He didn't panic, there was nothing left to panic about.
When he got past them, he knew he wasn't home free, he still would have a lot worse to deal with, and he didn't know how he was going to do it at all.
Quote: Lawr needs to roll more than a 5 to get past the guards to the camp.

”Delightful,” she muttered as she turned around, “I can be killed by you or by horsemen.” She didn’t fight against the cuffs as they were placed. She still had possibly one card she could play if things got worse, and hopefully the two Moons would help her if Rep went off the deep end.
Once cuffed she jerked her head back the direction they had come from, “There’s two devices out there that the horsemen use for communication. The trees marked and I buried them at the base. Your two hunters here suggested leaving those there instead of bringing them. I don’t know if the Horsemen can track the devices.”

The cuffs clicked closed around Sammy's wrists, and their draining effect was immediate, limiting her fear to a pliable level.
"Communicators?" he did look interested in that. "I'll send someone else from Death out to get them, good thinking not bringing them back. Don't want to give our s**t away further, especially no if they've already sniffed us out."
He led them back to the camp and placed the horsewoman under guard, along with - to a lesser degree - Sammy. "I've got s**t I've got to get back to. Well done you guys." And both Joy and Jason got an approving nod.
Quote: Sammy and the horsewoman are in camp and free to interact with. Jason and Joy are free to do more missions if they like.

Update
Summary of recent events (for anyone joining)
Rodney was captured while on a patrol and is captive at the horseman camp. Rep reminded people to follow a "buddy system" while on patrol. Sammy turned on the horsemen and helped Joy and Jason capture a horsewoman. The horsewoman and Sammy are now held at the hunter camp. There is an unclaimed idol at the temple, roll a 7 on a 1d10 to claim it (and its bonus points) All hunters are assumed to have been issued with a communication headset and horsemen with a communication pendant. Lawrence, Melvin and Melody went out trying to retrieve Rodney though Lawrence was separated from them. In a streak of ridiculous dice luck, he got him back.
The next stage will likely go up next Sunday, so at the moment feel free to continue to fortify etc. If you want the chance of a random event to happen to your characters then do please let me know, I'm trying not to butt in too much to peoples rp at this early juncture smile

There was a long ladder up in the trees, not very well hidden and he had to assume it was because War horsemen weren't used to needing ladders at all rather than any concious or deliberate laziness on their part. Regardless, he was happy to see it, not savouring the idea of having to scale some of the trees in this forest, where a fall would mean certain death, shield or not.
He climbed, and he climbed and he climbed, his muscles sore and tired even before he began and found himself in the trees. All around were people, moving around, arranging weapons and other tasks. He was out of sight, but he didn't know for how long.
His priority became disguise and quickly and it was through sheer luck and nothing else that he found an old blanket draped over one of the fences, likely hung out to dry. It smelled like horses, but he wrapped it around himself regardless. This was all in the nick of time too, as not long afterwards a war hunter made their way past him, stopping only to give him a sidelong glance before assuming indifferently that with the smell and the slender build, he was just a famine horseman.
Moving from room to room he followed the dot on the watch until he came to a room with a pile of Rodney's belongings, the hair tie amongst them. He gathered them up hurriedly and kept moving. Mercifully the horseman camp for the time being seemed preoccupied with something the head honcho was yelling about at a bunch of underlings. He had to move quickly.

In one of the nearby huts, Lawrence found Rodney and knew there was no time. He was under guard and this time there was no sneaking past them, the minute he'd stepped into the room he found himself asked what he wanted and who he was, and when they asked him if he had his talisman he had no idea what they meant.
Cornered like a rat, he did what any self effacing rat deprived of the option of flight would do, he attacked, tossing off the blanket and summoning this claws.
His first strike wasn't at the horsemen however but at the shackles attachment to the wall, cleaving through the wood with the practice of a man who trained against wooden dummies all the time. He wrenched the metal free as Rodney's things fell to the floor and turned to face the startled guards.

Rodney had been shivering in misery and trying to curl up the best he could, but at the sudden commotion from the guards he looked to see...
"...Lawrence?" he asked plaintively as a familiar pair of claws arced through the chains, and a pile of clothes (along with Seven) dropped in his lap. "...how..." he asked, fumbling with his shirt.
NOT THE SHIRT, ME, USE ME!
"But," Rodney said, but his eyes widened and he had the grappling hook out and in front of the guards, which had launched themselves at the two of them. He shook, huddling close to the leather-wrapped figure.
"You came," he whispered.

Lawr didn't expect to get this far, nor did he expect to come out of it alive. He was running on a complete lack of decision making and just wanted to get Rodney out of there before the alarm was raised. It was just a matter of time before the others came running, it was just a matter of time before the discussion was over.
<> Butch snarled.
"You are alive." he said to Rodney, as if this was sufficient greeting, and then lunged at the Death hunter with all his might, claws bared while the famine one attacked him with his weapon.

"I wasn't far from camp," Rodney said, "I thought I'd never see you...or anyone, again," he said, trying to keep the emotion out of his voice and not succeeding.
He braced himself again for the clash of weaponry, not straying from Lawrence's side.

Lawrence didn't rate their odds, but he wasn't about to surrender to a group who were almost certainly going to kill him if they got hold of him.
"Well." he panted as he dug the talons deep into the arm of the death horseman. "Now you do."
And they'd probably both die together.

Lawrence nodded silently to Rodney's comment before he brutally twisted the chain from around Butch around the neck of one of the horsemen that snatched for him.
Of course it didn't hold long before the wind was knocked out of his lungs by a swift elbow and he reeled off to one side.
"Get help!" the Death horseman snapped at the famine one.
