β πlake πΏrinity β ββββ At least it's eating a deer and not a person... Blake thought to herself as they came upon the dragon. Whether or not it would bother them wasn't a question, these things were still dangerous. She had to get in that mind set or else she'd just end up getting depressed. That was when Rowan moved, and as the fight broke out, Blake realized where the all-white dragon-slayer came from. If one saw it at the right angle, the Knight's hair appeared to be all white rather than partially, and it was hard not to look heroic in a coat that ornate. The sword he was wielding... Blake had only seen it once before when Rowan had fought the dragons the first time they'd been out...
The dragon was down in only a few moments. "Yeah, that's fine." While he carved away at what was left of the beast, Blake leaned up against a tree and did her best not to fall asleep. She was still exhausted. Along with Cheyenne's routine, she'd been doing some of her own work, trying to prove that she was worth keeping around at the time, trying to show her mother that she had some sort of ambition to improve. That with hardly sleeping... She couldn't wait until it was night.
Blake had figured that the bear thing'd been dropped when Rowan brought it back up again. Of course names were important! What would he have called himself while playing amnesiac? The thought made her wonder for a moment or two before the man spoke again, clearly not amused with small talk. She sighed as he started, but they were both cut off by four dire wolves. A magic circle glowed on the ground, Blake about to summon some wolves of her own, but Rowan seemed already on it. In fact, he was already on all of them. It was a little disheartening, but if he had it covered... Blake was about to respond in accord with Rowan's statement before he turned on her, saying that she should pay better attention on the road or else something horrible might happen. She understood that it was in good will, but the intensity wasn't quite necessary...
"Alright, alright! Look, I'm sorry, okay? I'll keep an eye out, but it isn't like I'm totally helpless... I'll...try... not to distract you or anything, but would you at least...consider that I'm capable of holding my own?" Blake had in fact trained for years with Alistair at their home. No, she wasn't great, in fact, something usually always seemed to go wrong when it came to close quarters, but she didn't want to leave all the physical work for Rowan. That wasn't what she'd come out here for.

~Rowan~ "There used to be a point to everything, but since that day I can't seem to find myself caring about anything anymore. It's not because I don't want to, but because it's best if I don't." βββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ
Blake seemed to be rather discontent with their current situation... being rather upset when he told her just to sit back and pay attention. For some odd reason, her demeanor and manner had changed since the last time they had come to the forest. Was she trying to prove her self to him or something? Maybe she felt that she wanted to prove her worth in their partnership and supplying mana to him was not enough for that. "Look. I get that you probably want to show that you're capable of holding your own... but you're supposed to rely on me for things like this so that you don't get harmed. That's why Mages are the way they are. They're backup or the people that take care of other Mages in fights. Maybe you can fight these creatures with what you've learned over the last couple weeks... but that doesn't mean I'm not going to try my hardest to take care of it myself. You're my Mage, and it's my job." He stated to the woman, discontent with how she was composing herself in this situation. Why was she suddenly so eager to fight creatures anyway? Last time she wanted nothing to do with it.
Sighing, Rowan carved up the creatures and took their pelts. They would make them a decent amount of money that would help support this little trip. "C'mon, let's get going. I don't want to stick around in case that wasn't the whole pack." Rowan stated to Blake, putting the pelts in one of the bags that were strapped to the bear. Patting its side, he merely began walking through the forest again. They needed to make sure they used up every hour in the day searching for the dragonkin homeland. "I don't know about you, but I'm not really good at making conversation, regardless of where we're at. So it's very difficult for me to suggest a constructive topic for us to discuss while we're walking around." Rowan informed her, admitting to being unable to think of anything to say at the current moment. Did that mean the two of them should just walk in silence the entire time and not speak to one another? Either way, Rowan would keep walking while searching the trees for any spider-like creatures that were going to try and ambush them. After his experiences in the forest, he was used to such things.
After a while, he came upon a campsite that had been torn to shreds, probably by the wolves they had just slain earlier. Seeing that it was as good a place as any to set up camp, Rowan merely started a fire with Gram and got some food out to roast over the fire. While he was not the best at cooking, he could at least get something done while waiting for the next hour to pass by. What he did not notice, however, was that there was a intricate bow near where the two of them were at. Having been too focused on survival, he had not tried to search the destroyed camp for anything, much less a weapon. It did, however, glint when the firelight reflected off of it, which would probably catch the attention of people who were not distracted by something like cooking. Rowan, however, remained oblivious to its existence as he finished cooking the last few pieces of meat over the fire. Taking one of the pieces, he tossed it up in the air above the bear and watched the creature jump and catch it, consuming the food eagerly.

*coughs* Forgot to roll. Oh no! Bad luck! While you were relaxing at camp, something has attracted the attention of a nearby beast! It's a Low-Level Encounter!
As you're sitting enjoying camp, you hear an odd sound. Is that...hissing? When you look into the sky, you'll see four flying snakes, seemingly swimming through the air before dive-bombing your Party.

β πlake πΏrinity β ββββ "Right..." It was mildly frustrating, but she guessed it made sense. If she was throwing herself into battle, it would be likely for things to be more of a pain for him, especially with Blake's knack for getting into more trouble than initially intended. Despite what she had done, it didn't matter. There was still the obvious issue. I swear I'm cursed when it comes to combat. The gods of battle hate me or something. What did it matter, though? She just had to keep trying, right? Perhaps this place isn't the best for mild training, though. "Alright! Yes, let's get moving!" she agreed, picking herself back up.
After a couple minutes, Rowan admitted that he wasn't the best at conversation, and Blake had to fight a sarcastic I hadn't noticed. Up to a point, it seemed as though he was...attempting to not be verbally cruel, so she wouldn't push his buttons, either. At least...not purposefully. She didn't mind starting conversation, but what wouldn't he find trivial? Wait...did that mean he and her father made little to no conversation on their own trip? "Well, lemme know if you come up with something. It's not like we need to talk the whole time or anything, but it'd definitely help make the time go by. At least...it would for me," she added.
When they came upon the destructed campsite, Blake couldn't help but wonder what could have happened here. Had it been the wolves, or something else? How old was the camp and damage? While Rowan was working on the fire, Blake figured she'd make this trip a little more comfortable. She flipped open one of the pouches on her belt before moving her hands out in front of her. They started off looking like liquid, some dark green mess bubbling up from the ground, but the substance quickly took a shape as Blake made some plastic chairs for the both of them. The half-elf was just about to sit in hers when something caught her eye, a glint of metal underneath the ripped fabric of a tent. She narrowed her eyes before walking over to it and brushing away the scraps. Before her was an intricate bow made of a metal she'd only seen once. It was giving off its own aura of mana, as well.
"I-is this adamantine?!" she murmured to herself rather excitedly. It was a rare metal, one supposedly unbreakable by any and all means. Not that she planned on testing that fact, but all the same, it was sturdier than steel and most other materials. Blake grinned and turned to show Rowan, excited about this new thing she'd get to play with, more so about what it was made of than the actual bow. Despite being decent enough at archery, better than hand-to-hand or close quarter combat, she hadn't taken to practice it to regularly. She supposed she had a reason to now. This wasn't really a thing to waste. Blake was about to speak when an unpleasant hissing sound came from above. When she looked up, there was a snake...just... in the air. Not just one, but four, and they were moving in to dive on the camp.
Using her new material, she quickly made a small round shield just before one collided with the metal with a thunk. Why did this literally have to be the next thing that attacked us after I tried to say I'm not useless!? The one that had hit the shield fell to the ground, causing Blake to whimper a little and backing away from the thing. Overkill or not, she made a big cube of adamantine and dropped it on the thing, crushing it and keeping it out of sight. The thought of it made her cringe. "Hey, so flying snakes aren't really in my repertoire," she cried before dodging one with a shriek. It landed on a tree before it became pierced with an arrow matching the bow it came from. It barely hit the poor creature in the face, showing just how rusty Blake was, having aimed for its midsection. She was surprised she'd even hit the thing in the first place. Blake made an unattractive groan when it was revealed the hit didn't kill it, the thing thrashing violently.

~Rowan~ "There used to be a point to everything, but since that day I can't seem to find myself caring about anything anymore. Rowan was starting to get a bit exasperate with Blake, the young woman acting helpless immediately after she made a big scene about not being helpless at all, and he should not be treating her as such. The young man resisted the urge to sigh as he turned to see the girl whining and freaking out over a couple of flying snakes. Just the sight of it was enough to make Rowan reconsider whether or not she was even capable of continuing this trip with him. The creatures were not even that difficult, being very weak monsters that did not require any effort at all to take out, especially with a Mage providing him mana. Still, she seemed to be struggling with it. Wait, he merely questioned where the young woman had suddenly obtained a bow while he watched her attempt to fight the creatures. In all honesty, just watching her fighting them was tiring him out, nothing she was doing being very effective. Even when she attacked one with a bow, all she did was pin it to a tree while the creature was still alive, writhing about in pain as it seemed to slowly fade.
This time he did sigh, feeling as though there was nothing he could really trust his Mage with at this point. Depressed by the show that was being shown, he merely lifted his arm and set the rest of the snakes ablaze with Gram's fire. All of them began to burn to ash and fall to the ground, unable to escape the arm's blazing wrath. "As much as I want to mock you and make a huge point of this, I'm not. I'd rather we just finish up what we were doing and head out without wasting too much time. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some food to eat." Rowan stated to her, walking over to the fire and picking up some of the meat that he had been cooking. Without a single word, he simply began to feast on the meat. Snakes..... She does realize that this is a forest and snakes are literally everywhere, right? No matter where she goes here, there's going to be a snake or two lurking about. Even those mountains had snakes, giant ones at that. Rowan thought to himself, wondering if she was really going to be able to make it to the land they were trying to discover.

After they finished eating, Rowan merely stood up and put out the fire without really saying anything. In all honesty, he was not being silent because he was discontent or anything like that. The reality was that this was the sort of situation he preferred. A quiet evening in the forest, dealing with whatever disasters may come their way. "Alright, now that the snake's are gone, let's see if we can't find that woman's homeland." Rowan stated, picking up a few things and beginning to head into the forest. "Don't.... worry so much about the snakes. I ran away from stuff all the time when I was traveling with Alistair. Sometimes there's battles that you just can't fight. Everyone has those." Rowan informed the young woman, trying to console her in her fear of the snakes. Whether or not she worked past that fear would be the true question. "Regardless, you need to get rid of that spineless attitude you have towards those things. Otherwise you're just going to cause people trouble when it truly matters." Rowan informed the girl, giving her a little dose of reality with his speech.
While they were walking, however, he noticed a shadow on the ground. Something was circling them and passing by overhead. While he contemplated what it could be, the creature swooped down to try and pick one of them up to carry them off to its young. What it was met with, however, was a demonic arm grabbing the bottom and top part of its beak and yanking it out of the air. While it could not squawk, it thrashed about from the sheer force holding its beak closed as it stared at Rowan with fear in its eyes. "I've been waiting for you. Where there's snakes, there's always a hawk nearby hunting them. Too bad for you that you tried to pick up the wrong people." He stated to the bird, crushing the beak with his hand and sending the thing convulsing in pain. "Guess the wolves are going to have a pretty good dinner tonight." Rowan stated, holding his hand forward and setting the beast on fire. It made some sort of strange sound, due to having its beak crushed, while it burned and burned until it was burnt into the ground. "Let's get going before something bigger shows up that was hunting it." Rowan stated.

Oh no! An Low-Level Encounter!
As you walk along the path, a shadow passes over your party once...and then again, almost as if you're being circled. In no time, you're being dove in on by a person-sized bird: a hawk the color of blood.

It did not take Rowan too long to find yet another useless item on their travels. The money was an insignificant amount, and now they were finding items that were worth about as much as the gold they had been finding. Picking up the flint and steel, Rowan merely stared at the item that he already possessed, feeling as if someone was laughing at him from some other dimension or plane. "Well, this still pretty much falls in line with the Trinity family's luck. At least I haven't been wandering around for six hours getting lost and not finding a single thing like I did when I was with your dad." He commented, tossing the set of items into one of the bags that were strapped onto the bear. "On the bright side, with such little stuff, it'll be quite a while before we have to head back into a town to sell anything. That means we can search longer." He informed Blake, stretching his arms a little bit before he turned and began to walk through the trees again. The young man wanted nothing except to find this new place. If he could do that, then he could set about avenging himself.
"Listen.... I know I'm a bit harsh sometimes... but that's just to help you out." He stated to her, acting like that was some sort of explanation as to why he seemed so grumpy all of the time. "Even if I'm rough around the edges, it's because I need to be. If I wasn't, then we'd never get anything done and probably end up wasting away." He stated, thinking about what it would be like if he was not there to complain, mock, and try to help Blake learn from the mistakes that she made. He made quite a bit on his own... yet there was no one there to outright call him out on them. That was why he knew what sort of problems could develop when one did not get spoken to harshly when they needed to be. "Anyway, just keep an eye on the trees. Spiders like to crawl around in them, and they're probably one of the most dangerous things in this forest. Their poison's pretty bad too, so don't let one bite you." Rowan informed the young elf woman, hoping that he could at least explain a bit of the more dangerous wildlife to her. After all, he did not believe that she had spent much time out here in the forest, considering she ran a funeral service rather than adventured.

β πlake πΏrinity β ββββ I really am cursed when it comes to this sort of thing, aren't I? Blake asked herself when Rowan just walked up and set the things on fire like they were nothing. "Yeah...I don't wanna talk about it, either," she muttered before returning back to the fire and finally sitting down. She spent a good portion of dinner making a new pouch for a dowel of adamantine. These weren't things that could just disappear in a little while, so she used a significant amount of mana when making them to increase their duration to permanency. He's never going to agree to my idea if I can't show him I can do something when it comes to fighting, but if things keep going the way they are, how does he expect his training plan to work? There hasn't really been anything out here to cause him so much trouble... It was about time they get going again, and the Knight's stirring told her that as well. Still not too sure about the bow, she slung it over her shoulders for the time being.
When they started off again, Rowan seemed to be trying to make her feel better about how those crawling creatures made her act, admitting to retreating some times when he and her father had been out the last couple weeks. The idea made her raise her eyebrows...as well as the attempt to make her feel a little better about the situation. It seemed well-placed, but as per usual, also seemed to be a Rowan-esque demeaning flavor to it. Luckily, this was something Blake was used to. "Yeah. Right. I'll be a little more...open..." It was just small snakes that bothered her, but she agreed that it'd be best to keep her head in the game. She considered how they should go about finding a way to get him to push himself as to where it did enough damage to make a difference. For now, she only had one healing spell a day. We should probably make the most of it.
It was hard not to look up when the shadow passed overhead, revealing a large bird up in the sky that was quick to move in on the pair. Rowan's method of handling the thing seemed a little extreme, literally grabbing it out of the air before burning it alive. Wouldn't it have been easier to cut it down? Then again, Blake realized that she was probably not in any right to form opinions on how to go about dealing with anything in a violent sense. Nonetheless, the Knight took care of the thing quickly and quietly enough. "Aye, aye!" she said, trying to ignore the smell of charred bird best she could. There'd been worse. They were out there to deal with worse. Anything they did, as long as it could be justified, Blake could handle it.
Trinity luck? The slight bitterness behind the term meant it wasn't a good thing. "Had it gone that bad last time?" she asked when Rowan mentioned getting lost with finding barely a thing after six hours of travelling. "Mmm, yeah. It'd probably best we avoid town with actual soldiers after us. Do you think it's gotten to Eldrin yet? If we do end up getting too full-up, we'd probably have better luck there than home." Hopefully... There weren't any promises for anything like that. Cheyenne had already blown this out of the water... Blake wasn't even sure if the woman would ever forgive her at this point. Well, staying there wasn't going to do any good. She was somewhat lost in thought when Rowan spoke again. He kept saying surprising things on this trip, and it was just day one. The girl chuckled.
"I get it," she told him with a bit of a smile, not that he could see it while she was walking behind him. "Tough love and all that. It's fine, I usually don't take it too much to heart... Ah! Don't think that means I'm not paying attention! Eheh. I get it...so thanks." It wasn't as if she wasn't used to his demeanor. This was way better than his outright making fun of her. At the man's advice, her eyes drifted up toward the branches, now wary of the capability to serve as hiding spots for any who wished ill will on travelers below.

Moving through the forest with a rather discontent expression on his face, Rowan was not too pleased about anything that had gone on so far. "I'm not sure how I'd do in Eldrin. They're kind of weird over there... and I'm sure I'd get a lot of unnecessary attention with this arm of mine. If you thought that the few dark fae that lived in Carmillion were bad, imagine what a city full of dark beings like them would be like. This arm is a magnet for those kinds of weirdos." Rowan commented, obviously not too content with going to Eldrin. It was still a better choice than some foreign kingdom that they had never heard of though. After all, it was more likely that news had traveled to the snow kingdom before Eldrin considering the recent communication channel that had just opened up between Carmillion and Yuki no Okoku. The two would probably do anything to strengthen the bond between their kingdoms, and that included sharing any sort of information that they had available to them. After all, who can you trust but the neighbors willing to share all of their problems with you?
The thought of it was depressing, yet that was exactly how the world worked in the modern age. At least Blake seemed to not be taking any of the harsh things he was saying to heart, although that might actually be a problem. She was also quick to tell him that she was, indeed, paying attention to the area around him. The reaction just made him scoff a little bit, not in disgust but in the audacity of the statement. She seemed so quick to respond so as to not incur his wrath or something like that. He was going to comment about her sudden statement when a mausoleum came into sight... which was an odd sight in the middle of a forest. Curious, he began to check the structure out and quickly found a cellar door. "Looks like something might be hidden down here. Be careful." Rowan told Blake and hoped down into the underground area. Immediately he regretted doing so. It was full of one of his least favorite things in this world, the undead. It was not just any undead, however. If they had been the mindless zombies, he would have no problem with them. No, these were the intelligent ghost undead that were simply a nuisance.
Sighing, he began to walk through the area while they screamed and tried to spook them as best they could, Rowan feeling a bit disgruntled at this turn of events. One of them actually tried to possess Rowan.... before it was stopped by his hand, startling the ghost and causing it to run for its undead non-life. "These are literally pointless. It's like whatever's in here is asking us to take it for free." Rowan stated to Blake, upset at how easy this was for the two of them. First it was a dragon that showed up, and now it was a dungeon full of nothing but ghosts, the creatures the two of them dealt with on a constant basis. "I'm not sure what's worse... these things or the dragons that keep trying to fight me whenever I go out." He commented, finally reaching the end of the dungeon after a very long, boring walk. What he found there was a simple vial of some sort of potion that he did not recognize. "I feel like this was a little bit pointless." Rowan commented, walking over to the potion and staring down at it. He then turned his attention to Blake. "Well, I don't know what it is. Why don't you give it a shot identifying it." Rowan suggested to Blake, a rather bored expression on his face as he stared towards the exit.

All I am is a weapon, and that was all I was trained to be, since the beginning." Z.O.M.B.I.E.

Woah! A Medium-Level Dungeon! If you choose to go through it, you will lose the roll for your next hour; however, it will yield Very High-Level Treasure!
You come upon what looks to be a mausoleum or at least, it used to be one. It's destroyed, but though further inspection, you see a cellar door leading to an underground area. It's full of ghosts! Ghosts can only be effected by magic items, normal attacks don't work on them. At the end of this dungeon is a Potion of True Mana, fully restoring any used mana by a mage! You also have the option to sell it for 500 Gold!
Good Luck!

β πlake πΏrinity β ββββ His point made sense enough. The dark fae were already troublesome enough. Blake tried to be nice, but one woman had once tried convincing Rowan to negate his contract right in front of her! Ugh, would that be the case in Eldrin too, then? There was that new Kingdom, but the thought of living in a place covered in snow was a foreign thought for the woman. The smashed mausoleum they came upon at that point made Blake pretty sad. That was someone's resting place all destroyed like that... She felt them beneath her almost as soon as she stepped into what was left of the building. Rowan was already looking at a hatch of a cellar door, telling her to be careful down there. How many souls were actually trapped down there? "Right but there's a whole bunch of-" the man had already hopped down into the space. Please be something easy, she hoped after following him. Come to find out, it was too easy, but the pressure of all these undead souls was a strange feeling, like a day with too high humidity.
They were all slinking around the place with their own agendas, some reaching out, some moaning. Any of the ones who'd gotten too close to Blake, she'd help, murmuring some phrase in an odd language. They'd see another pair of arms from her reaching out for them, a similar material to their own bodies before they disappeared completely. "It's okay. It's alright. You'll be fine," she'd coo almost inaudibly to them. The pressure would get light with each one. The rest didn't seem too interested. "There are worse undead than ghosts," Blake replied with a slight shrug. "Although, I am a little confused when it comes to the dragons... The ones from before had seemed to be able to sense Gram. If they're aware of its properties, then why even bother fighting?"
The two came upon a potion that Rowan didn't seem too interested in, asking if Blake had any clue. "I've seen the color before... I think it's mana restoration. With the amount of magic its giving off, it could be pretty strong. Honestly, I've never used one before and it's not something mom ever kept around, so I could be wrong, but that's my guess," she stated before picking the vial up and putting it in her pocket. "If anything, it's probably worth a decent amount of cash." Once they'd gotten out of the dungeon, the pressure began to dissipate, Rowan being the only thing she could sense at that point. The sudden change gave her a headache, and Blake placed a few fingers to her forehead. It's gunna be a bit before I get used to this one.
