Before very long at all had passed, her demons switched from fighting humans to beating down a horde of demons that had been intending to attack the now-weak humans. She wasn't on any of their sides - she just wanted all of them to stop fighting. (Was using force to encourage peace wrong? Maybe. But it was all she had.)

...Coming up on another apartment complex in Oshu, Nito had survived long enough that another breather for his devils was starting to become a necessity. Considering entering, it was as he came towards the gate out front that the Jinn appeared before him and riddled him with...uh...these riddles! Confident as he was feeling, though, Nito was more than willing to answer whatever questions he had waiting to come his way!
"Riddle? Well, it just so happens that you're speaking to the Yellow Dragon 1980s Movie Trivia Champion...QUIET back there, Preta!" he shouted back at his interrupting companion's loud coughing, before addressing the Jinn again, "Come on, then! Out with it!"
The Jinn seemed pleased with his enthusiasm and immediately made with the question.
"Question 1! ...Along with brilliant comedic actor/writer Simon Pegg, what 1980s cinema icon is one of the only two actors to hold a place in science fiction movie history by appearing in the Sci Fi Holy Trinity: Star Trek, Star Wars, and Doctor Who? ...Speak, human!"

Immediately, Nito found himself stumped. He should know this one! It was right on the tip of his tongue! Ooh, he was going to kick himself over this one!
...Or so he thought, until glancing over his shoulder he saw it...
...His Preta...Johnny Preta...smirking. Again. He KNEW!

Johnny Preta, swagger returning, began to giggle and glow with an eerie light...as too did his summoner!
"No, no! No possession! I can get this one...! It's...it's...Kevi-?!"
...Suddenly both of them flashed a brilliant white, and Nito's eyes seemed hollow, his smirk wide and almost...Preta-like.
...And so he answered. Correctly, of course.

He practically sighed, but it came out far more defeated and sad than it should have. Nito sat in a despairing ball in the corner of the Apartment Complex's lobby and muttered to himself weakly, as his devils were somewhere else on the level or just outside the door lingering in case of trouble, remembering the 'riddle' that had almost prevented them from entering into this sanctuary and screwed them over big time. How could he have forgotten the answer!? How? He knew it! Hell, his Preta actually kind of looked like Deep Roy if you squinted and tilted your head and were about 3 beers into a sixer! How, how, how?!
"Bloody Deep Roy! Deep Roy! ...Deep Bloody Roy... I swear I knew it!"
His head was in his hands as he tried to figure out how things had gone so wrong out there, and he couldn't even bring himself to look at the Preta, that bloody Deep-Roy-Looking Preta! Smug b*****d was probably over there chuckling and smirking and if Nito wasn't careful he'd DECK HIM IN HIS BLOODY MOUTH!no...nonono...no, he couldn't do that, wouldn't do that. That was not him.
...A hand settled on his shoulder, and Nito, for the briefest of moments, almost...almost...felt a bit of comfort.
...
Until he saw that the hand belonged to none other than Johnny Preta, sympathetically patting his shoulder.
...And somehow that pity stung even more than a thousand bloody missed answers.

Yesterday had been..... aaaaaaauuuuggghhhh. Well, at least the Lord of the Flies was down, even if it was that jacka** Kai who'd managed to do it. His slumber had been fitful. Most of the night he had spent in a deep despair, remembering missed opportunity and missed questions, and always...always the smirk of that...that...son of a Preta!
He shifted often after he finally got to sleep, only recently sleeping into a legitimately restful slumber, but even now...something was bothering him. Not just a thought, really, but something else...something lingering, just outside of his consciousness...
...It was an irritation? A feeling of...unease? His nose twitched, and he shifted again, flexing his hand and feeling...cool?
In his slumber, it just felt...odd...like his hand was gripping a great big marshmallow that was melting in his grip, and his nose was buried gently into the soft fur of a lovely kitten!
...But it wasn't...that? No, that wasn't right at all...something was definitely not right!
He shifted...he felt it again, an...itch? His sleep began to fail him, and he felt it a third time...the last time.
...He raised his hand and brushed the offending itch away from his nose...
*Squelch!*
And it was then he felt it, the...cream? Medicinal, like...shaving cream? And the cool, the stickiness...
His eyes opened to a sea of fluffy white.
...
And nearby, Johnny Preta and his girl-things were giggling uncontrollably.
The old shaving cream in the hand, feather tickling the nose trick...
...
Screams. Miles around. ...You know the drill by now.
