If it wasn't one thing, it was another. Mataki had thought he'd seen the last of their kind for the time being, only to stumble upon one of the Fallen Angel demons that were so prevalent in the Betrayer's army...Eligor. Unlike many of the other demons, he was one who was once much more powerful, a being that could seek forgiveness but refrained, and was crowned a Duke of Hell for his transgressions which his master was so amused by. Rather than allow such a creature to roam the city streets, it was better for Mataki to eliminate it, weakening their enemies when the opportunity presented itself. And those this creature had once been a being of life, it's detestable and corrupted form now was worse than any pure demon...the earth required it's purifying.Quote: 79 tokens +20 Macca Matador: Gain 5 Macca per turn. Demons in a horde were a threatening venture for many, but in the city of Okina the remaining survivors were use to a threat like that at this point. Even so, Mataki planned to dispose of the monsters in a timely fashion, and while the variety of demons said a bit about the creatures amassing before the former king of hell, it didn't mean much if they were unable to contribute to their master's final death throws for power. And they couldn't contribute, of course, if they were dead...which really said all that needed to be said about their already too-long lifespans. Coooool horde-ers! Here we go! Awave of ice froze the demons in place, and Queen Mab quickly moved between the frozen statues, dealing one clean blow to the neck of each that none of the monsters could avoid. Frozen heads fell from the icy statues, once living beings bent on hurting humanity, and as they did Mataki took count of just how many demons had gathered together into this street, attempting to calculate whether these swarms were getting bigger, smaller, or perhaps more powerful...any statistic that might grant them some gleaning into the true nature and power of the army they came from, and whether their presence would continue to grow in the days to come. First it was Eligor, now it was Berith. The Fallen were coming out of the woodworks in Okina, perhaps because it was the closest city to Inaba and a good place for them to establish a headquarters until the final day. But their mistaken thinking was already showing as they fell squarely into the sights of Mataki, and a blast from Albion was all it took to send Berith flying as another of the former angels met the fate that they had been destined for ever since they betrayed the greatest figure of the Millenial Kingdom. They had been offered mercy at every turn, and rejected in lieu of their own strength, claiming purchase of immortality, of sovereignty and all other things they did not truly possess...for their power diminished when they turned their back to the light, and now, they were received by darkness for the final time. The girl had raced through the network to beat Nekura back, coming face-to-face with a bunch of what would be burglars...
Though, the moment her blade started to be drawn from her side, they all immediately knelt down, bowing before her.
"No trouble.." she commanded, moving behind the counter as they all surrendered their phones to the demons that took their orders. Equal parts payment...and deterrence from punching their faces in.
She idly picked up a touch of energy from one of them as she went to the kitchen, starting to prepare their order. Even in a place of peace, she could always show a touch of force..

The easiest way to raise his demons at this point, Mataki had figured out, was to gain Macca and purchase them from the Cathedral, or fuse them in order to combine their abilities into a more powerful form. Training was no longer as advantageous as it use to be, so Macca was more important than ever, and building up a healthy supply was how he would overcome the trials that awaited him...and at least, they would help him to buy the allegiance of some of the more wishy-washy demons for the time being. He would have been back sooner, but The Trumpeter was more than a little cross at his surviving of the strike that was meant to kill him again...
And as such, he got a double-tap of Dooting that was now consistently ringing in his head. The poor boy laid collapsed in the bench, his whole body aching all over.

Ambush! It seemed that Ose was leading some of the so called Fallen in an attempted counterattack, and the raid was now focused throughout the streets of Okina, punishing the survivors due to Mataki's own assault earlier. In a way, they were ambushing him, attacking the things he cared about by putting the hurt on the survivors, and while he was fighting off any demons he came across he knew that they were too spread out this time. He could only kill Ose to stem the tide, but unfortunately that was only minimizing losses...they had him, this time. But he would make them suffer for this battle, by winning the war. Ellie had barely noticed the two as they appeared..in varying affairs. She was too busy thinking ahead...Trying to figure out where they could expand Troittown to.
After all, there were still loads of abandoned buildings. Perhaps they could open a chain...
Store some demons every so place...and just have them serve the customers! Or, just move to an insanely large building for the store.

As the blood of Ose pooled onto the streets, the counterattack met it's final end. He knew without hearing his phone that this was definitely one of their objectives, and that removing this particularly clever demon would benefit he and Loki in a few days, so he didn't check for the reward that must have been incoming. Instead, he looked towards the door torn off it's hinges nearby, a hidden shelter that humans had been using to survive the waves of demons ever since this disaster began. It was the last place that Ose had searched, and while he hadn't found Mataki, he had found others instead...and inside now, there was no noise. The thought pained Mataki, and he bit his lip bitterly to hide the anger welling up inside of him. People like that didn't deserve this, nor did they do anything to warrant such a bitter end. If he could stop the influx of Hell, put an end to their leader and bring about the Millenial Kingdom, then maybe it would all be worth it. Maybe then...maybe then...! Youmu KonpakuYoumu eventually went to serving the customers that she had on her list, coming out when she heard Nekrua's groaning voice.
She peered out to see him collapsed in a booth, moving over with a worried expression.
"Myon-Senpai.." she called softly to him, a hand holding against his head. He didn't have a fever..and, though he seemed hurt..he was a live.
She breathed a small sigh of relief, before sliding the boy up.and letting him rest his head in her lap.
"Come on...You shouldn't push things so hard..." she called, gently patting his face as her Jack frost applied light healing magic..and some much needed cold compresses. "You'll wind up doing more harm than good...Senpai.."
Right outside the window though, Micheal was slaying heretical demons that tried to interrupt in the tender moment of his summoner, and her friend. They were many, but he was stronger...
And, in a flash...They were gone. And he could resume watching the two humans share in their own warm affection. Oh, the joys of being a summoned demon... A weak demon fell under the massive fist of Albion, and the gelatinous demon turned and gave a goofy thumbs up to Mataki to signal the end of the battle. A creature like this wasn't going to give them much Macca, but then again getting Albion a bit more experience was the most important thing. The giant was amazing, and it was powerful enough to punish many mid-range foes now, but there were still the stronger enemies waiting for Mataki that Albion wouldn't be able to stand up to, and so he felt that this training was limiting. He would earn Albion experience for the time being, then pass it on. And with the innocence of this flubbery mess, and the brute strength too, combined with the cunning mind of others...things could prove quite devastating, when he found his ultimate weapon. Decarabia was the next of the Fallen in Okina on Mataki's hit list, and while the starfish should have proven hard to find, it was in fact quite at home floating lazily above the city and acting as if it didn't have a care in the world. It was too prideful for it's own good, and while it's powerful megido based spells were more than terrifying to most people, Mataki had prepared himself beforehand. It was still a surprisingly intense assault, but Decarbia wasn't able to repel all of the attacks, not even with his reflective skills and admirable defenses. Instead, he was now a distant memory, reduced to magatsuhi by Albion so that the city would be safer, and stupid burger joints that weren't nearly as funny as they were the first time could stay open without the threat of attack...yup. The number of demons was even lower in Okina now, in the wake of the loss of their latest captain. But even with Decarabia's death and the series of Fallens that were now added to the list of "deceased", there were still a few brave demon souls willing to come forth into the streets...and some were even weaker than that, desperate for food and hungry at this point because they couldn't find the errant human or the weakling demon for them to feast on. Survival was the name of the game for them, but by crossing Mataki it had become one thing to cross off the list, as any survivors in this neighborhood were soon to see hell again...because for humanity, it was a battle of survival too, and Mataki had no intention of losing.
