"I-I'm alright," Amity said shakily. Everything had gone from cacophonous to dead quiet in only a few seconds and her mind still hadn't quite caught up. Ronan reached down to help pull everyone up and out from under the table.
He heard his name spoken by Cruz, understanding all to well the unspoken context that went between them. If this was going to escalate any further, he wanted to go home. Now.
"I think we're alright Cruz," he said... and promptly grunted in pain when he stood up. The back of his shirt had been practically shredded, numerous scratches and cuts scattered across his back. It wasn't necessarily a severe injury, but it was enough to smart like hell. This is what he got for being a human shield, it seemed. Looking around he noticed a familiar face, Nell, having opened a first aid kit.
"I'm gonna get this looked at," Ronan said, grimacing. "Be back in a little bit."
Coming over to Nell and Claire Ronan stood there awkwardly for a moment, rubbing the back of his neck. "Would it... be okay if I got in line?"
Watching Ronan go to get helped Amity floated there for a few moments, her own thoughts on the events so far going in a very different direction that of her guardian's. She wanted to know what had caused this... and she was going to do everything she could to help.

Vesna nodded to Iorek and said, "I'm Vesna!" She turned back to look outwards again, seemingly undisturbed by the dying birds. She couldn't see through them clearly, but eventually they petered out, and she squinted up at the sky.
"Do you think it's safe...?" she asked, but only ventured out when Eden did, carefully following the leader.
Lorenzo looked up from his spell as Ian spoke and scooped up the undead bird, crawling out from under the table to look for Vesna. He dusted himself off with the hand that wasn't holding the bird, and when he saw her heading towards him and Ian, he let out a sigh of relief.
"Are you hurt?" he asked.
"No," Vesna said carelessly. After the initial fright, the whole thing had been pretty exciting. She looked at the bird in his hand, and recolied for a moment, but soon saw it was undead.
"What's that?" she asked.
"I was going to send you a message with it," Lorenzo explained.
"Oh my god, Dad," Vesna said, rolling her eyes and pulling out her phone. "Just text me???"
Lorenzo blinked, reaching for his own phone. "Oh. Right."
Vesna looked like she was about to float over to Ian and Eden, but Lorenzo grabbed her hand and gestured to Claire and Nell.
"I need to patch up these cuts," he explained, pointing to where the birds had pecked and clawed at him.
"Cool, meet up with me after!" Vesna said.
"I think," Lorenzo insisted, "That we should stick together. At least for the time being. Anyway, Claire over there has been wanting to meet you, so best foot forward."
"I don't have feet," Vesna retorted, but grudgingly floated along with him anyway.
"Got any disinfectant?" Lorenzo asked as he approached Nell and Claire. And then, more reluctantly, lest the offer be taken the wrong way, he added, "Anything I can help with?"
