Star gives it a shot and sees she wins a token! She does a little dance and then thanks the two kin at the head of the booth, grinning all the while. "My friends will appreciate it soon, at least hopefully," she chirps.
Free things were always a good way to start the day, thought Kept. Maybe today he'd even somehow, uh, work up the courage to...say something? To that purple buck over there? He looked nice, right?
Maybe he'd tell Kept a bit about...how he'd gotten all these things.
He picked a shell very close to Negative, and started a little when a stone with two marks on it revealed itself. Well...well, he'd been hoping for something cool, maybe, but...he could take these stones, too.
"Hi," he said to Negative. "Can I ask..."
He trailed off. It took a full minute before he continued, and it seemed like this wasn't the question he'd been about to ask earlier. But he was talking, right? "Who - where'd you get all these?" He tapped his hoof against the two-token stone.
FLIPPIN HEY! He brushed his hoof against the crudely made shel and found below it a stick with pleasant smelling needles and a shiny rock. Words took his prize and nodded his thanks to the booth keeper.
Oh no Kiss you better stop it is starting to become an addiction!
Kiss had hoarded quite a lot of tokens already but woke up earlier than yesterday to visit this booth again. She was there with very few kin that stood and watched the new placement of shells. They too seemed to have the same mindset as her as they scanned the playing field and calculated which ones would have a chance to reveal the ultimate wins from just looking.
Pacing back and forth as she watched some having tuned over already by the early birds, the doe wanted to try for the middle ones again. Treading carefully, this time, she quickly turned a clay shell over with a swift kick of her hoof and jumped sideways into the clearing away from the rest to avoid turning more shells over than necessary. She would hate to be disqualified and having to give up today's prize.
Taking a good look to see what she had uncovered, she counted four tokens that were hidden underneath the shell of her choosing. "Wonderful. I want to play again, is it tomorrow yet?"
Turning herself away, she resisted the urge to flip a few more shells over just to see what other sweet prizes and joke prizes may be hidden underneath. But she forced herself to behave. No one likes a partypooper.
Returning the next day, Evolve had a little smile on her face. She'd taken it pretty seriously to start with but was starting to enjoy herself a lot. Sooner or later she'd catch the trip of the game and land the big one but until she got it, she was intent on having fun.
As if to reward her good mood, there was a fresh fish beneath the shell. Keen for a snap, she picked it up by the tail and took off towards Best's egg cracking booth for a quick cook up.
Wild Green Stones did not need to speak. That, however, never stopped him. "Heeeey," he slurred at the bright orange acha calling customers over. "I'll take...that one!"
He pointed at one shell, and then, quick as he could, slammed his hoof down on a different one. Just to be contrary. It flipped into the air a little, revealing a little stash of bright blue berries and a stone with a single mark on it. Huh. He mashed his face into the berries and was sure to lick his lips before departing. With the stone, of course.
Bloodsucker wanted to win this game. She wanted to win it very badly. It was a bit of a mix of pride and not wanting to get a terrible prize, so before picking a shell she watched the game board carefully, then sidled up to the purple buck running it. She snuck up oh-so-quietly, doing her best to make it look like she'd just appeared next to him. "So..." she said, before quickly tapping a shell. "Come here often?"

FLIPPIN HEY! "I'm back," Distant Tidings announced quite unnecessary, giving the blazing Acha who had mocked him so a hard sort of look that was also quite obviously admiring, "obviously a glutton for punishment, as they say."
He peered ever so closely at shell after shell, but it was just as she'd told him the previous try: they were all close enough to the same, and, indeed, covered everything so completely, nobody – including him – could tell what they were getting until it was, as it were, much too late. He'd watched as other Kin had tried their luck – and there seemed a good number of lucky winners lately, truth be told – but could not discern a rhyme nor reason to the placement of prizes and pranks.
"Ah well, I did ask for it," he reached out to an unassuming looking shell and flipped –
Well.
It was.
A token.
That was it. Simply a single token. A smooth, brown pebble, now glistening in the sun. Rather suspiciously, he poked at it with a carefully raised hoof – but a token it remained.
"Well, that's almost anti-climactic, wouldn't you say?" he laughed, winking at the doe, "I'd almost been looking forward to the horrors that awaited me – but I'll not say no to a little prize. Thank you kindly, madam – this time!"
And off he went, balancing his two tokens on his nose.

FLIPPIN HEY!
Emerald steps up to the booth, looking around nervously. "You haven't seen a pink buck with cream swirls, have you?" she asks, absently flipping over a shell.
Glancing down at her win Emerald smiles, under the shell was a token and a pretty sparkly stone, the colors of sunset swirled through it. Surely Seashell won't be mad if he catches her now, not only has she won a token but she's got another treasure for him, one unlike any he's already got. She should know, havin kept his hoard in order since she was a foal. "Thank you!" she says to the two kin, scooping up her prizes.

FLIPPIN HEY!
A loud voice drew Flight's attention to his next destination. An acha with strangely backwards horns and a stubby tail was pulling kin off the path left and right, dragging them over to a cluster of shells laid out on the ground. He followed behind several other kin that had been drawn in by her promise of prizes. The buck himself wasn't particularly interested in winning anything, but the anticipation of what was under each shell was exhilarating. He watched with breath held as each kin picked out their shell and flipped it over. What would it be? An animal of some sort? A dead animal of some sort? Some foul smelling weed that would make you itch for several hours? Actually, most of the kin seemed to be winning those colorful rocks everyone kept giving to him. He wondered what they were for. While pondering the possible uses of the painted rocks, the acha doe suddenly called him out to play her game. "Oh..."
"Well, alright." He really hadn't planned on playing, but it seemed rude to turn down the offer. Or was it more of a challenge. Regardless, Flight wasn't too concerned with the outcome. It was everything that led up to it that was most exciting for him. He didn't even spend much time deciding on a shell, it took him more time to flip it over than to pick it out. He stared at the thing as if it might grow teeth and clamp down on his leg. His hoof creeped inch by inch closer to it, the tip just slipping underneath the edge of the shell. And then, with an unexpected force, he flipped the shell up into the air and sent it half way across the market. The reveal of three tokens underneath was a little underwhelming after such a build up. "Ah. More of these...What are they, exactly?"

FLIPPIN HEY!
This booth had been hard to miss, what with the vibrant Acha dancing out front and offering up prizes. Thunderstep had never been one for games of chance, but it seemed int he spirit of the event to at least try something new.
Thunderstep flips the second shell over; only to regret it....A horribly fat warty toad squirms out from under the shell, somehow they'd managed to hide this thing under that! "This is what I get for trying new things." Thunderstep snorts, stomping at the toad. He'd had already had enough bad encounters with frog-like things to last a life time. Just thinking about that kissing booth made him nauseous!

FLIPPIN HEY!
It'd gotten colder as of late, and the kin had been gathering. Free and her 'herd' had wandered into one particularly colorful gathering and quite quickly dispersed into the crowd. She'd been drawn to one booth in particular. There was a rather loud acha with her horns on backwards shouting to call over folks, and, though she was a tiiiiny bit intimidating, Free found herself turning her hooves towards the voice and moving closer.
The game seemed simple enough. Pick a shell, flip it, get a prize. Everyone won- but some prizes didn't really appear worth it, particularly a collection of bird shell bits. Granted, they were a pretty shade of blue, but still...
After watching a couple other contestants approach and 'win' various items- a couple plants here, a fish a little too ripe, a sapling cutting there- she timidly put a hoof out and tapped a shell- five down, first one. She stepped back as it was flipped over, and then smiled a little as a small bit of berries and one token was revealed. She stepped forward, dipping her head down, and took the berries and the token, straightening and peering around before tucking the token into her stole and eating the berries. Free did pause as the restocker stepped forward, and she offered the darkly-colored buck a tiny smile, and a couple of the berries. "This was quite fun, thank you. I think I'll be back tomorrow. My name is Flowing Freely... A pleasure to meet you," she murmured, quietly turning around to leave. He seemed almost demure, and shy, like her, but his markings made him look like he was smiling. Peculiar.
As she meandered back into the press of other Kin, Free committed to memory the location, and thought she'd make it a point to come back and visit a while after she played the game. While thinking, somebody sidled up to her, leaned over, and said, quite loudly, "BOO!" She startled a bit, and flomped onto her side, squishing the few berries she'd had left. She snapped her head around, and simply stared hard at Haunting Smirk, a wide grin making his face marks seem wider still as he tossed back his head and laughed at her. "Oh, man, Free, baby, you should've seen your face! You alright? Come on, let's get you back on your hooves," he snickered, and then leaned over to help nose her back up. She grumbled a little, and then tipped her head to bonk him affectionately.
"You ought not scare people so, Haunt... There's a game over there if you're looking for something to do," she chided, and then tilted her face towards the place she'd just come from.
"Thanks, doll. You, uh, got a little... thing... on your fur there. Blood? Nah, berry juice, right? Geez, you startle so darn easy..." Haunt muttered, leaning lover and licking the stole just to make sure. Free grumbled a little, and then nudged him away. "Alright, alright, fiiiine. I'll go play. Have some fun, loosen up... talk to people! You might like 'em!" Free rolled her eyes as he sauntered off, and then melted back into the crowd once more.
Blinded By Silence
FLIPPIN HEY! Land Shark was ecstatic about this whole gig. Games and prizes and tons of kin, this was her kind of fun! Especially the tricks, oh my! She nearly fell over when some poor unfortunate kin flipped over their shell only to find a badly rotten carcass. Oh what fun! And so the curious little fish-kin squirmed her way over to a shell of her own. She knelt, with her tail in the air, wiggling as she pawed at the shell. Her gills flapped, making an odd slapping sound. And then. She flipped it, jumping out of the way in case it were a trap! ...Nope, no trap. Not even a trick! She took the two tokens she'd found and wandered off feeling a little disappointed.

FLIPPIN HEY!
Sings caught sight of the dancing laughing acha, the serious buck, a game of chance! Grinning as he watched some walk away with great prizes..and others, not so much. Sings loved games of chance though.
Sauntering up to the booth and grinning brightly at the Acha running it "Truly the real prize here is you my dear, anything else I could win would be lesser by far." Sings flirted shamelessly, stepping up to try his luck.
Sings made his choice, flipped his shell, "ACH! " and was rewarded with stink flowers for his poor choice. The buck quickly backing away from the pungent putrid smelling things. "If you think this will deter me!" Sings sneezed, trying to get the smell out of his nose. "Y-you-hack-you're wrong!" Sings smiled through watering eyes, and vowed to come back tomorrow.
Returning to the game, one would have maybe caught sight of the shy little buck coming around to flip another shell. If they watched even closer, they would have seen him get disappointed when he won nothing, again.
Enjoying a day wandering the Winter Market, Dew Drop Sun's attention is caught by the energetic acha calling for participants to flip shells for promise of a surprise. Even more amusing is the dichotomy between this acha and her partner, the quiet one tending to a pile to the side of the shells. The blonde doe decides to approach the booth, "I'll give it a go." She looks the row of shells up and down before choosing one slightly off-center to the left...
She finds two tokens, and smiles, "Aah, there we are. Thank you!"
FLIPPIN HEY! This was her third day coming back, and it was, quite rapidly, becoming her favorite place to stop by. She smiled warmly, and then stepped right up, to tap a shell, almost... confident, today. Certainly less shy than usual. Two more tokens to add to her stole, a flash of a grin, and then she was off.

Can You gave him a wicked grin. "Oh yeah. Did you see that guy who got covered in desiccated bugs? The best.
"You're doin' pretty well for yourself here, though," she said, torn between amusement and dissatisfaction. "Hit a trick next time instead of a treat, huh? Or do something entertaining."
Lural
Tangled Web smiled at her, and actually laughed a little at that. He idly flipped over another shell and revealed another token. "Hm." he looked at it a moment, then looked back to the doe. "I bet some reactions to your... surprises are fantastic."
"Heyyyy," Negative said petulantly as the blue acha launched one of his shells, "be careful w' those! Took me ages ter make all these things. Only gots so many replacements...
"Euh?" His question afterwards took the kimeti by surprise. "Th' tokens? They'se for buyin goodies here at th' market. Food an' baubles an' presents, like. Diff'rent things costs diff'rent numbers, so's you add up how many you need an' trade 'em. Still not sure I unnerstands it m'self," he added with a laugh. "How can some rocks be worth more'n other rocks, just 'cause they gots more dots on?"

And then, with an unexpected force, he flipped the shell up into the air and sent it half way across the market. The reveal of three tokens underneath was a little underwhelming after such a build up. "Ah. More of these...What are they, exactly?"
Can You blew a big, fat raspberry at the white-and-yellow kimeti buck, phbtbtbtbtbbtt. "Like nobody's used that line before! Go pick up some better pick up lines before you try again."

The jewel-toned doe was in for a surprise when Negative opened his mouth to answer her - apparently the lines of his mouth weren't just markings. The jagged edges of his mouth opened all the way to the base of the curl.
"M'name's Negative," he said somewhat automatically, "pleasure's all mine. G;ad y' had fun."

Negative was absently watching the kin playing his game when some of them asked him something - oh, looked like this repeat visitor had finally worked up the nerve to talk to someone. He could relate, honestly - there was so much going on, it was hard to grapple with talking to anyone. Negative waited patiently for the buck to find his tongue, missing the fact that he changed his question completely.
"Th' lil rocks with th' dots? All us game runners gots 'em," he explained. "Whichever kin, or group'a kin, is in charge'a this thing, they passed 'em out ter us. I think they's jus' normal rocks, under a coat'a paint," he added uncertainly. "Sure ain't never seen a rock with spots like these a'fore."

Scaramouche Fandango
"So..." she said, before quickly tapping a shell. "Come here often?"

He was not fine today. Under the shell was a mess of unclean fish guts. Ah. "D-do you need help cleaning this up?" he asked, squinting through some of the pokier bones.
Some time when the crowd was thin, Can You surprised Negative with a headbutt. He fell over - either she had put more into it than she'd thought, or he'd flinched away so hard he lost balance - and she stood over him as she reprimanded him.
"Hey, man, there's supposed to be tricks under the no-prize shells! Quit bein' so dang nice, you nerd."
Negative, once he'd gotten over the shock, pouted and gently kicked her off of him.
"Pfuhhhh, you quit bein' so mean," he rebutted, and mock-snapped at her. She didn't flinch - she knew he wouldn't actually bite her.
"Never," Can You replied, sticking out her tongue. "Run the game like we agreed, okay? I'll hunt you up something nice to eat when I'm on my break later."
"Bahhhh, fine," the kimeti conceded, shaking his head and back to free it of dirt and snow. "Make it somethin' sweet."
"You and your sweet tooth," she laughed, and gave him something between a nuzzle and another headbutt. (Very carefully, to make sure she didn't accidentally hurt him, of course - her horns made some things pretty difficult.)
