Oooo, look! Another booth giving away free books. It seemed they were definitely trying to encourage all of their students to read more. Of course, there was no guarantee that students would actually take the books. She seemed to notice then that someone was actually throwing the books at people! That was bad for the books you know!
She browsed what they had to offer and with a bit of a blush on her face she scooped up Taken by the Chimera and then made her way back into the crowd. She might not share this one with Enoukn...
Upon arriving at the festival grounds, Odessa was taken away by the myriad of colors and blinking lights. She had never seen anything so grand! She and her mother would decorate for the holidays, but it was always something small since they didn't have all that much money and since the town was small there really wasn't all that much there either. This was something else entirely and she couldn't help but feel an excitement welling up inside. "Look at all of this Kara! Isn't it amazing?!"
Kiessi grabbed their mother's hand as they continued around the fairgrounds. They were so happy that Tambre had decided to join them that they had nearly stepped passed a booth full of cute cat plushies! Though of course, they did end up stopping and pointed at it. Tambre smiled and picked up one, handing it to Kiessi.
Kara half laughed at seeing her friend's expression. Though this was also her first year at the Academy, Kara wasn't so new to all the different celebrations. The town she grew up in had their own huge celebrations and this, more or less, paled in comparison. That wasn't to say it wasn't a good show, but she kind of missed everything that happened where she was from. Still, she could imagine this was a big deal to Odessa. "It is." She agreed heartily, trying more to humor her friend than be honest.
Anara's ears twitched slightly as she heard a noise from behind her. Turning, she blinked when she saw the small orb of light flittering around. Was that... a wisp..? Anara was suddenly mesmerized by watching the thing, she knew she had to take it home!
Rorie had found his own way to a plushie stand. He smiled when the person there handed him a vesper cat plush. He squeezed it happily. He had always wanted a vesper cat, and since he didn't have one this was the next best thing!
"He's certainly intelligent enough..." Nihls wouldn't be surprised if even he was able to train the creature, it was tempting to ascribe it a surprising intellect, since it had climbed, out of the two of them, the one with a lesser sensory ability.
He slowly lifted his hand to release the creature, which made scolding noises but did not flee, either too bold to do so or having decided he was insufficient threat to flee from. Or maybe it was just that this was where the candy was.
Veil brushed back her hair taking a look over the festive scene. There were so many nightmares enjoying this celebration. In fact there was enough noise that Veil had actually put down her project she was working on. The half written poem lay on her desk while she ventured out. It seemed like there was a good number of things going on fleshlings flaunting about in plush scarves that made them look like they had fur of their own. Other tossing cotton and shivering trying to hold onto the frigid balls long then their friends. Eveilyn stayed to the side of all that mayhem thinking she was safe until someone in a rush to get somewhere nearly ran her down. Applogizing the nightmare handed her a plant and wished her a happy festival. They hurried off before Veil could even return the sentiment. Looking down at it Veil’s hair fell into her face for the hundredth time that day as she wondered if there was enough light coming into her room for the plant to survive. She supposed she should take some of her sketches off the window that she had tapped up.

The white-haired fallen at first felt disappointed that the two weren't on a date, but then he felt relieved because he wasn't interrupting them and he wouldn't be seen as intruding. And at the other fallen's blush, it was all Charmstar could do not to squeal in delight at how pink those cheeks had gotten. But that didn't last long because Khai had broken away from them to play at some other booth.
"Iunno, maybe we should ask? DJ Heawtstwings says it's always bettew to ask than to guess." Although what exactly you should ask was never fully touched on in any of those radio shows, leaving Charmstar more mystified in the end but Hailey didn't need to know that bit.
He held out his hand to her, "C'mon! He hasn't gone too faw. We can still catch up, pwobably."

It was perhaps a very good thing that the chimera's feet were firmly planted on the ground when she chanced upon a daydream. She stared, openly, her expression confusion more than anything. She'd already clipped on the jingling earrings so her approach couldn't be thought of as silence, but with the miriad of noises going on around them, she might have blended right in.
The other thing she noticed was the violin case, and intrigued, Amihan strolled up to the fay,"Hey you~ why so blue?" A beat. "Get it? 'Cuz," she gestured to the daydream's entirety, "You're, y'know? Got a mirror on you~?"
Gaius was quite intrigued by the appearance of the little flitterrat, staring rather intently at it. Where had it come from...? Looking around, it was hard to really get a good gauge for a possible source, what with all the towering adults surrounding them. With a small nod of agreement, the geist was prepared to follow after his little friend, but gave pause, eyeing the little sprouts still there.... Staring at them, and the one already tucked with him, he picked up one more and trotted after Eilwen.
He stared at the interaction between girl and familiar, small pupils shrinking even more with awe at the little interaction between the two, "He really seems to like that stuff.." he murmured, tiny wings twitching gently with excitement. Gosh the little rodent was so cute! Following onto the next booth with her, he decided to sit out games wise, and instead watched, curious by the objective that was clear to understand. Perking up a little at the pop of the last balloon, he grinned lightly from the prize that came with it. "Wow, that's awesome." he looked the plush up and down, before also noting how much she had in her hands. Thinking, he got a little idea, "Why don't we go put some of this stuff away at our dorm, and then come back for more games and stuff?" he suggested, also shifting his stocking, and plants around to offer carrying some of her things for her.

Small hands gripped to the plush a bit more as the other boy knelt before him, a little nervous by what might happen. But the gentle approach made Silas peek back out from the protection of his plush again to blink curiously. An introduction. And with the compliment to his new fluffy friend, his dark cheeks brightened with warmth. It took a few seconds more, but he finally lifted his head enough for his lips to be revealed, hesitantly parting to speak, "I..I'm... S-Silas..." he meekly replied, one hand gingerly stroking the faux fur of his stuffed animal, "th...thank.. you..~" there was a very slight hint of a smile that tugged at the corners of his little mouth at the appreciation for the toy.
But seeing the distress in the other, he stared at the geist, nervously peeking down at his own goodies surrounding him, and then back up again, "I...I can... help... f-..finding.. him...?" he offered.

Sprout fluttered into the room, grateful for the tall ceilings that allowed them to soar over the shorter heads to a clear spot on the edge of the festivities. This was so exciting and they watched others exchange gifts and prizes between each other. Sprout wished they had someone to share this with - this was perfect, it was like the ultimate event to take a bunch of buddies to. "What can I do?" they asked themselves, drumming their cheek. Was there an arts and crafts table? The Fallen was okay with store-bought gifts but they preferred the homemade. Maybe they could use some of the boas being given out for more elaborate projects? Sprout's eyes widened. And there was jingle bells! That was like, a whole new level of crafting. They could do so much with jingle bells.
Anon blinked at the strange chimera. Trying to figure out if they were making a joke or insulting her. After all clearly they were of the nightmare race, not the daydream race. Anon decided to test the waters. "I could ask you if you are tickled pink" she said cocking her eyebrow at the other female.
"Well, hello there, cuties," Alioth said with a smile as he wiggled his fingers at Gany and Chries. "How are you enjoying the party? I think it's pretty wonderful, especially since I get time to spend with Foras. Such a great idea to go on a double date." Alioth hooked his arm around Foras's waist and cuddled up to the hybrid. He wasn't blind to all the looks being sent between the hybrid and the giest but, honestly, they amused him more than made him jealous. They were just so cute with their silent conversation, even if half the conversation seemed to be a death glare.
Alioth was pulled from his musings when Foras pulled away and shoved a fox plush in his arms. Smiling fondly, the starry Fallen obediently held the plushie as his boyfriend ran off to go show off his manly ways with a hammer. "Oh, it's adorable, Snuggles, thank you!" He traded back the fennekit plush and took the giant Kidden. "I love it." It really was adorable, and so soft and fluffy all Alioth wanted to do was cuddle up with it.
"Well, lets see if I can win you something too, babe." Alioth winked and picked up the hammer as well. It wasn't very heavy, honestly, but as he refused to put his special plushie down, he wasn't able to ring the bell. Still, the little light got far enough up that the fallen got a consolation prize. "I wasn't able to win you a plush, Snuggles, but I think these earrings would look good on you anyway." He said, holding out a pair of red bells.

Julie wandered through the event, tail wagging in excitement. Wow, look at all the stuff! Games, new people...candy! The Grimm was in seventh heaven! As she ran through the event, trying to see everything at once, she suddenly skidded to a stop; a booth had stockings and little kitty plushies...and they had her coloring. Clapping her hands, she went up to get one of each.
Mani was in awe. So much was going on, it was almost sensory overload. Still, through all the joyful shouting of the crowd, he heard the familiar sound of his brother's voice behind him and turned to look. "What happened, Munnin? And what's with the weird bird?" Mani asked, eyeing the bird critter suspiciously. It looked like another familiar their mother might threaten to bake into pie.
Mani looked down and smiled at his constant pumpka companion, Ran. Threatened, but never succeeded. Somehow the pumpka stayed one step ahead of her and had lived to see Mani grow into a freshling.
A senior suddenly came out of the crowd and put a pair of antlers on his head. "Awww, how cute you look, sweetie." She said before heading off to find more freshlings to apply antlers too. Cute? Really? Mani shook his head at the sillyness, causing the bells to jingle...but didn't remove the headband.
There were so many sights to see, so many nightmares to mingle with, so many cutelings to fawn over, Verve truly loved celebrations. All that was missing was someone to appreciate the festivities which. The realization dampened her spirits some, which she remedied by going to look over more accessories.
And maybe try to figure out a way to wear more than one kind of accessory at a time. She wound her silver tinsel boa around her shoulders like a shawl and strode up beside a blonde fallen. Without the least bit of embarrassment, she said "I totally recommend you get at least five of those," and gestured to the jingling earrings. "At least I most definitely plan to."

The chimera tossed her braid over her shoulder with an airy giggle, "Really? I always thought I had more of a rose-tinted view of the world." She touched at the jingling trinket she'd worn, "But I like being tickled so that's not such a bad thing, I suppose~ So~ blue are you?" Clearly, Ami wasn't going to let up on the puns just yet and the goofy smile on her face suggested no malicious intentions behind the word play.
Though some might argue that puns in and of themselves were a provocation to war, so who really knows?

Aeon laughed "You really are something." Aeon thought back on her mood when she walked into the festival, but she didn't want to kill the girl's attempt at joking and being playful. So instead Aeon smiled and said "I'm Aeon and you are??" She asked curiously , she held her violin case close to her and fluttered her wings nervously.
Decran’s next stop at the festival was a book stand. His eyes scanned over the various titles but the imp already knew what he was looking for. “The Goblet of Secrets” was at the end of a stack of books and Decran was quick to snatch it up. He loved books, and this was the next on his list of what to read. Once he paid for his find, Decran moved off and started exploring deeper into the festival. So many booths and games were set up and Decran felt like he could spend a week her and still not visit every set up. He stopped in front of a booth filled with plushies — some small, some large. He glanced to the rules and tilted his head. Some sort of throwing contest involving knocking down various snowmen. He paid for a few goes and worked at it until he was finally handed a large kidden plushie.
Syra
Syra’s next stop was a booth filled with lots of sparkling and shining jewelry. Most of which were holiday themed. If there was one thing Syra liked more than romance books, it was jewelry. She quickly spied a small pair of silver bell earrings and went to pay for them. It didn’t take her long before she was standing in front of a mirror — conveniently displayed at the booth — and donning said earrings. Once they were securely in, Syra couldn’t help but shake her head and cause her bell earrings to jingle. At the sound, a grin spread across her face.
Finnley
The next stop on Finnley and Jocey’s trip to the festival was a booth saturated in candies. Fin’s mouth drooled with the seemingly endless choices laid out before him. He loved candy. It was his favorite food group. He moved off, without waiting for a word from his caretaker, and snaked his way through the booth before finally stopping at the candy canes. He loved candy canes. He snatched up a bundle of classic flavor and ran off to pay for them. By the time he rejoined Jocey, he’d already stuck one into his mouth and grinned at his roommate.
Jocey
While Fin was busy immersing himself in candy, the book stand next to the candy booth caught Jocey’s eye. She pointed it out to her caretaker, making sure the older nightmare knew where she was head, before moving off to look at every book available. She took her time, knowing that it would take a while before Finnley made up his mind on which sweet to bring home. Finally, though, she spotted the perfect book — ‘The Little Voidmaiden’ — and moved off to pay for it. Even though she’d taken her time, Jocey still made it back to their caretaker before Finnley showed back up, candy in hand.
Ishy
Ishy had debated on whether to go to the winter solstice festival or not. She almost felt as if she was too old for such things. However, when a few of her students had asked about her plans and told her they’d love to see her there, she’d caved. When she arrived at the festival her first stop was at a sweets booth to pick up one of her favorite treats of the season — peppermint bark. She chatted with the nightmare running the booth for a while before saying her goodbyes and moving off, exploring deeper into the festival and wondering if she’d run into any of her students or not.
Tyas
Tyas wings fluttered as she stepped into the festival. All around her decorations hung and lights twinkled. She could hear music off in the distance and the smells that wafted towards her were various and wonderful. This was her first time attending a festival held in Below, and while she was slightly nervous she was also extremely excited. Maybe she would meet new friends here? Or even bring back some nice finds to her dorm room. It needed spruced up, after all. She’d only brought the barest of necessities and didn’t have much to decorate with. It wasn’t long before the shiny gleam of tinsel caught Tyas’ eyes and she was moving over to a booth. When she moved in closer, she found out that it wasn’t tinsel after all but instead was a shiny boa that looked as if it could be. She quickly snatched up a bright blue boa, paid for it and promptly wrapped it around her neck for all to see.
It seemed his suggestion didn't really fly well with Perigor or Ustule... Admittedly he hadn't thought much about Histeol's lack of sight - he navigated the world so well that to Prometheus, it was like he wasn't blind at all. He listened to Histeol as he piped up, nodding along - only pausing to accept a plushie that was handed to him by the same passing adult. Goodness. It seemed like these things were just appearing everywhere. The plushie even had a pair of clip-on bell earrings attached to it.. He narrowed his eyes at the accessories, not sure how he felt about them. He didn't need bells on him.. he wasn't a cat or something.
"Yes, Histeol is right. I em sure thet we can find some games to pley thet will not hinder him." He nodded, and then looked around for a few moments before spotting... what appeared to be the game he'd just been talking about. "I theenk thet, perheps, the game over there is the one Histeol was speaking of. Et least, people are putting their hends into boxes." He shrugged, waiting to hear back from the others before moving towards it.

omg i forgot to quote you last time i think-- they'll probably just pull Parodia along if they move!
Oh, Gods, he hadn't quite censored his expression well enough had he. Chries seemed to be thinking about something-- was it in regard to the plush? Was it the obnoxious amount of PDA that Alioth and Foras were displaying? He really wished he could read minds right about now... It would make everything so much easier. Crap, was he smiling? He really needed to pay attention to his expression, he'd been told in the past that his neutral look seemed pissed off, after all. He consciously molded his expression into a smile, albeit a small one, and nodded in response to Alioth's question. "Yes... I also just got here." He glanced back to Chries-- oh. They were going to join Foras.... (Of course he picked a strength game. Stupid Foras.)
He shuffled along behind them, watching as Alioth played (did he really just call Foras "Snuggles"??? What kind of petname was that?) and then Anchriesel- which... meant it was his turn. Except, the addition of being called "dearest one" had him so out of sorts and unsure of how to react that it took him a moment to actually respond outside of sparking up in a few flashes of affectionate lights. "Ah-- s-sure, thank you.... dear?" Was... Was that acceptable? Was that how they were going to do this? Oh Nine, it felt so strange saying that. What if Chries didn't like petnames? <********> this was hard. He accepted the candy cane, and tucked it into his stocking before trying his own at the hammer.........
He didn't even manage to get it halfway up the pole, which got him a pair of clip-on earrings. Wow. At least Alioth hadn't rung it either, but... he'd had one arm full of plush.. Ugh. He shuffled back over to Chries, and resumed looping his arm with his- that shampoo really did make his fur soft... it felt... nice. For someone as sensitive as he was, anyway. "That was... fun, um... We could try the dart games - it looks like they have book prizes..." He nodded towards the balloon dart booth, then glanced to Chries, "if you like that sort of thing- I mean. The darts."Wonderful.
Arya got a shy grin and nodded. "Sure I would love to help!" He said and looked down at the fluffy familiar. "Do you have any other familiars? If so you could go with a naming theme!" He had heard his parents say something about that once!
Then the Fennekit got scooped up by an adult but that was ok since his new friend called her mom, and next thing Arya knew he was playing games and getting a book.

She played a game and won a pretty bracelet, it wasn't pink but it was still pretty, and then started to walk around. As Nikora was walking around she spotted a familiar face and she waved at Charm with a big grin. He looked busy though so she didn't go running up to him

O hai!
Shannon ended up getting sucked into playing one of the games they had there and winning a flower, something she planned on seeing if her twin would like. When she finally stopped playing games she looked around and spotted a Grimm who was holding a kitty plush with matching colors. "Hi, looks like you lucked out there!"
Katsura Zanshin
Julie is so cute and fluffy!
So far Michi hadn't spotted anyone familiar but then, they had gotten a little distracted by a game that lead to them winning a cute riverpup plush. They decided against putting it in the stocking for the moment and was content to hold it.

Caelan kept his wings ticked close to his body so they would bump into anyone as he walked through the celebrations. He end up picking up a stocking and won a book so far in his explorations and curiosity.
