Quote: Results for November 20-21:If you are traveling from the Deep Woods: A) You try to squeeze through the trees – and it’s a literal squeeze. You end up scuffing, nicking and cutting yourself up getting through the boughs and brambles, and probably pick up a few nettles on your way through. However, with the (probably rash-inducing) plants you pick up you also pick up some mushrooms! You lose 3 stamina, but gain 3 mushrooms. You are now located in the Waterfall Cove. B) You follow the water sounds and reach a river. It’s an easier walk than traversing the wooded maze, with some pale flashes of large river creatures underneath the depths of the water. You gain 2 mushrooms along the way. You are now located in the Riverside Respite.
Item Results: If you used the night vision goggles, seeing becomes much easier in the darkness. You manage to spot some trails you might have missed and bag a couple of extra goods. You gain 2 mushrooms. If you used the yarn balls, you’re able to track your steps to and fro in the woods! Good plan. Using a color coordination system you plot out a quick path through the deep woods and find yourself some extra loot. You gain 3 mushrooms.
If you are traveling from the Picnic Area: A) You investigate the tire swing. It’s so old that some grass and some mushrooms have grown inside. Neat! You gain 2 mushrooms. You now take the closest trail and are located in the Forest Exit. B) You travel upstream. The walk is casual, uneventful, but opens up to a nice visual of a burbling river retreat! You gain 1 mushroom and are now located in the Riverside Respite. C) You go deeper into the woods and it’s a fungal bonanza! It appears that the camping area next to the picnic table had the occasional plenty, and scavenging through the leftovers you find 4 mushrooms. However, you also find a very hungry fauna that wants to look into your picnic basket too. RUN!!! You lose 2 stamina and end up escaping at the Riverside Respite.
Item Results: If you used the bowie knife, you manage to pry some crusty fungus from the picnic table that you wouldn’t have been able to get to before. You gain 3 mushrooms.
If you used the fishing rod, you spend some nice quality thinking time next to the riverside and forage for more mushrooms. You even manage to catch a fish! Unfortunately, the fish attracts some very hungry fauna. You gain 2 mushrooms and lose 1 stamina.
If you are traveling from the Forest Edge: A) In climbing the tree, you manage to find a surefire way to get to the outside of the forest. You gain 1 mushroom and easily make your way to the Forest Exit. B) Continuing along the marshy outskirts seemed like a good idea at the time. As the muck thickens, a horrible smell pierces through your sniffnodes. You manage to find a single “fragrant” mushroom, but is it worth it? Gain 1 mushroom and lose 3 stamina. You are now located in the Gaseous Bog. C) You follow the treacherous trail and tumble into the moist darkness below. The only thing that breaks your fall is an… Enormous mushroom cap! Gain 4 mushrooms and lose 2 stamina. You are now located in the Riverside Respite.
Item Results: If you used the mushroom snufflin’ gerbils, they immediately turn away from the most gnarly of fungi and lead you deep into the thicket. Following them is tough, but rewarding. You gain 2 mushrooms.
If you used the snack bars, you bolster your confidence and your appetite and carry onwards. You gain 2 stamina back.
If you are traveling from the Poisoned Glade: A) You cut straight through the plants, leading to a huge plume of noxious spores. You’re feeling a bit nauseous – a lot nauseous. But hey, these super colorful mushrooms would probably sell for a lot! You scoop them up as your vision starts to fade and quickly scuttle away before you can lose consciousness. Lose 3 stamina and gain 4 mushrooms. You end up in the Lumber Field. B) You ford the river. On the banks you can hardly find a single mushroom, but at least you can wash off from your noxious adventure. Passing through, you experience another awful smell – one thankfully less toxic but no less offensive. Gain 1 mushroom and lose 2 stamina. You are now located in the Gaseous Bog. C) As you keep towards the edge of the glade you avoid most of the poisonous Alternian flora, but the sour water is deep and slick. Thankfully you get out of the muck and find yourself at the forest edge. Gain 1 mushroom and lose 2 stamina. You are now located at the Forest Exit.
Item Results: If you used the potato sack, you are able to cover up your mouth and reduce the awful effects in the air. It’s a fair way to get through the glade quickly and efficiently. You gain 3 mushrooms.
If you used the bowie knife, cutting your way out becomes less treacherous. You don’t spread as many spores and even extract a terrifying and very dangerous looking mushroom. You gain 2 mushrooms.
If you are traveling from the Tall Grass Patch: A) You try to cut through the thicket as best you can, and when you finally spot a clearing ahead it seems like sweeps! Everything hurts… Ooooh, everything hurts. At the very least you found some untouched fungi to snatch up. You gain 3 mushrooms and lose 2 stamina. You are now located at the Lumber Field. B) Backtracking yields a simpler path. While you only pick up one extra mushroom, you’re feeling less exhausted than you could be! Gain 1 mushroom. You are now located at the Lumber Field.
Item Results: If you used the City Slicker’s Field Guide to Farmland , you know exactly which grasses to whack at and which grasses to avoid - most of these grasses are much too thick to cut with a knife. You’re a regular grass expert at this point! In your expertise you unearth 2 mushrooms.
If you used the dynamite, you toss it into the near distance and wait. After the explosion and a burst of feathers and featherbeasts flying from the location, you have a very clear endpoint: just go towards the giant column of smoke. At least you won’t get lost. You gain a lot of mushroom pieces that ends up being about 2 in sum.
Choice for November 22-23:If your location is the Waterfall Cove: You have managed to find a glistening paradise, the origin of the main river and a beautiful jewel of a place. While the location itself is a dead end, it is a sight to behold. You can go back through the tight thicket of trees, or take a dip in the river and let it carry you out of the Cove. A) Once again squeeze through the trees B) Go with the flow!
If your location is the Riverside Respite: A scenic series of outcroppings over the river. There are many vines and ropes on either side, some of which appear to have previously been used as a bridge to cross but which have fallen into disrepair and a sign that reads “DANGER: FAUNA”. The overhanging trees are old growth, with a couple of dead and rotten trees having fallen over the river. There is a snoutbeast piglet sleeping on one of the rotten trees!
A) Chase the snoutbeast! B) Attempt to cross the river via the dilapidated bridge C) Follow the river edge downstream.
If your location is the Forest Exit: The forest exit appears to be a traveler’s waypoint. It’s on the edge of a small valley and is quite swampy comparatively. There appears to be a sign pointing towards a waystation as well.
A) Climb to higher ground B) Follow the sign to the waystation C) Ignore the sign and head into the valley
If your location is the Gaseous Bog: Bodily functions cannot compare to the stink of this bog. It smells predominantly like pollution, and a few bottles of Faygo bob up and down in the bog. In the distance you can see some much larger trees past deep ponds of muck. A small creek off of the main river is nearby. It looks able to be forded, but is filled with trash.
A) Rush towards the larger trees B) Climb a tree to escape the smell (and clear your thinkpan for a bit) C) Wade through the trash creek
If your location is the Lumber Field: A lumber yard! The lumberjacks appear to all be attending the Jubilee tonight. The huge swath of land is covered in chopped trees, new growth and old, with no discernable paths among them.
A) Investigate the un-chopped trees B) Follow the chopped trees back to the main area
The next choice will be posted on November 24th.

Quote: A-trekking through the woods I go!Troll: Miache Gahiji Inventory: Daywalker Spray, mushroom snufflin' gerbils, city slicker's field guide to farmland, 'used' bowie knife, night vision goggles Location: Forest Edge Choice Picked: A Item Used: City Slicker's Guide to Farmland Mushroom Count: 3 Stamina: 9/10 Miache huffed his exertion. WELL! That wasn't NEARLY as bad a tree as he'd thought it would be. The branches were all reasonably easy to grasp, not slimy with moss.....plus he found the way out! Pft! And he thought the trip through the forest would be difficult. Clearly he was a troll MADE for such adventure. He wasn't merely a gentleman. He was a troll of action. He spun his cane in his fingers, feeling just a little silly despite himself.
When he reached the sign he pursed his lips. Waystation, eh? Well....it was likely they may have items for trade....but he was rather content with his belongings as it was...plus he had no remaining beetles for the trip. His face soured at the thought. Well....he COULD always continue on without stopping there....but he also wanted to get out of the swamp. He was having enough trouble trying to keep his shoes and slacks clean as it was. Perhaps.....well, it looked like there was some firmer, higher ground he could head to. That seemed to make the most sense at this point. He shrugged and pulled out the guide book again, flipping through the pages as he continued his little forest stroll.
