Jay could hear the amusement in Eriko voice when she spoke. He smiled at her words. "Kit and I both have a stubborn streak, and I'll agree that it sometimes get us in more trouble than good," he said, smiling. He glanced at Amira to see that she was shaking her head at her sister's words, and he knew that Eriko had a bigger stubborn streak than she was letting on. It didn't really bother him, though; his adopted mother had had a bigger stubborn streak than he had, and they'd often butted heads because of it. "Mama had a bigger stubborn streak than I do, and we sometimes butted heads because of it, but we laughed about it later," he said, smiling fondly as he remembered his adopted mother.

Jay blinked when Eriko smiled; it was the first time he'd seen her smile since he and Kit had brought the girls home. He grinned when Amira spoke, nodding at her words. "I try not to be too stubborn, but sometimes it'll get the best of me," he said. Kit took a quick shower, then stood under the warm water for several minutes before shutting the water off and getting out. Drying off, he put on a clean shirt and pair of jeans, then combed his hair and hung the towel up to dry. He then left the bathroom and went downstairs and made his way back to the living room couch. "Does it smell better now?" he asked, glancing at Eriko with a smile as he passed her.

Jay sensed that Amira was surprised when Eriko smiled, but he didn't say anything. He smiled when she laughed a bit at his words. Kit grinned at Eriko's response to his question, then sat down on the couch, nodding when Amira spoke. "I suppose I won't," he said. Picking up the book he'd been reading, he opened it to where he'd left off and started reading. Jay shook his head in amusement. "Ye really don't like the smell of fish, do ye, Eriko?" he asked, smiling as he spoke.

Jay glanced at Amira and noticed that she was smiling as Kit agreed that he probably wouldn't live down still having fish on his hands. He returned his gaze to Eriko as she answered his question. "Ye wouldn't like sushi or sashimi, then," he said. "Sashimi is pieces of fresh, raw fish, but sushi can have cooked or raw fish." He noticed Amira frowning a little when Eriko spoke, and he wondered if Eriko had a specific reason for not liking the scent of raw fish, but he kept quiet, not wanting to make either of the girls feel uncomfortable.

Jay nodded when Eriko confirmed that she didn't like sushi or sashimi, then looked at Amira when she explained the reasoning behind Eriko's dislike of raw fish. He let out a snort of amusement when Amira commented that one of their former masters had thought Eriko looked like a cat, and thought that she would only eat fish and drink milk. "I'm surprised he couldn't tell the difference between the ears of a wolf and the ears of a cat," he said. "Needless to say, neither Kit nor myself are like that."

Jay could that Eriko was annoyed by the thought of her and Amira's former master, as she nodded rather stiffly when he mentioned that he and Kit weren't like that. "I apologize if I annoyed ye by bringing it up, Eriko," he said. "It wasn't my intention to upset ye." "In any case, it's in the past," Kit chimed in from the living room, having heard what was said between the three. "Let's leave the past in the past, and focus on the present, alright?"

Jay nodded when Eriko spoke. He knew that although Eriko had relaxed a bit, she was still annoyed by the whole situation, which was confirmed by the look she gave Amira. "I agree with Kit," he said. "Let's just focus on the present." "Why don't you girls come and watch TV or something like that?" Kit asked.
