Eziya Post 5Eziya nodded in agreement. Everyone fighting was doing nothing to help the situation. They just needed to go protect Sauti, and once they were done with that they could go to Jauhar and check on her mother or something. Anything to make sure she was okay. Gift continued to cause trouble between the two of them and Eziya couldn't help but laugh at the Xaraan's determination to get between them. "I do think everyone should calm down, but it's understandable that they're not. It's a big decision to make, and not everyone wants to fight. They're afraid of what might happen, at least it seems that way," she muttered, hands clenching at her sides. She knew she was afraid. She didn't want to go to war, but they had to protect people. They couldn't just leave the wind earthlings to try and fend off the Alkidike by themselves. Especially since they would have to carve their way through people to get there. It'll all be okay. Things will work out, right?" She was really trying to reassure herself more than anyone else. She just didn't want anyone to lose their lives. Kani Post 5Kani smiled as she realized just who she was speaking to. So Gael had made it to the odd little gathering that was happening. She was curious to see what his views on the matter before them were, but she would wait for that. For now it was just good to see him again. Turning away from him for a moment she looked at the other man who had spoken to her. He was a bit of an oddball, but seemed friendly enough to her. "Hello there. I am Kani," she smiled, waving slightly at him. "What do you think of the situation going on?" she questioned the both of them, hoping to hear their sides.

Gael Post 6There was a momentary frown on his face when the wind tribesman commented on Kani's looks, but he told himself that she was a beautiful girl and others would notice. So instead he flashed a grin at her. "I'm not too fond of the idea. We have plenty to do in Matori. We should use our resources to rebuild the villages that took the most damage over the years." Gael of course kept his answer as neutral as possible. He didn't want Kani to hear all of his thoughts about being enslaved to other tribes now that they helped to free them. Looking at the man next to him he gave a pat to his shoulder. "No offense." Wouldn't do to have a new friend already mad at him.

Nuawahn (Post 5) ”It's okay!” Nuawahn said, though he honestly had no idea what was going on. He had not been paying attention to all the commotion and motion and scary talks. He'd been trying to find his friend, and he had found two completely different friends in the process. Talk about a return for his investment!
”I like rebuilding things! And fixing things!” he added. That sounded very good – like healing buildings and villages, and Nuawahn loved healing. ”But what broke?”

Ichil- post 3
"Who knows? I don't know much about the Alkidike gods, but it seems to have something to do with a... large tree? If it's a tree that's telling them to go after Sauti I do think they have some bigger problems to contend with." She listened to the large of the two speak of their professions and nodded. Blades were certainly respectable. It was Keelthy's class that surprised her the most, though.
"I've never met a male dancer," she admitted, looking him up and down. Sure, she could see it. Did he dance with women too or was it just a one-man performance? She peered down at the little blade and smiled. Good, so the dancer could likely fight too.
"You know me name?" she asked then, looking once again to the young men's faces, "Huh, that's odd. Well, my father is an officer in the army, I myself... heh. I guess I'm sort of the rebel son, so to speak. Interesting, though..." Most would not recognize her at a pass, but she was rather elegantly dressed at the moment. Maybe the outfit made the assumption for them?
Sebastien- post 3
"Irrohna. That's very pretty," Sebastien said with a nod and a smile. "Well, mostly I work with the animals already captured or brought in or raised, but just recently I've charmed myself a rather impressive janarim, if I do say so myself. He's a big brute. I'm still in the process of breaking him." Otherwise the beast would have been here with him and not in a pen. "Ah, dealers, no, but our barn perzi did just have kittens, if you're interested. There's five of them, just now getting old enough to be separated from Mom, actually. I wouldn't mind handing one off to you, you don't seem the type to cause undue harm."
Duke Edward Drake If she does want a one of Latti's kittens I could totally have him charm one and then give her the outcome. xD

serr post fourWhy did the Oban have to go and put it like that when Serr was trying to be comforting? Of course they weren't going to ignore Jauhar. Of course they would try to lay claim to everything between their islands and Sauti. But neither of those possibilities were ones Eziya needed to consider right now, not when she was already concerned about her family. "They are afraid, it's true." Maybe he shouldn't have called the pacifists stupid, but thankfully it didn't seem to overly bother the Shifter. She might have been laughing at her familiar, but her clenching hands and questions suggested she was upset, her mind clearly on other things. Though he was fairly determined to succeed, at least in this instance, he also knew he would retreat if things didn't seem to be going in their favor. He would drag Eziya away too, if he had to. There was helping, and then there was helping too much. He would rather come out of all of this alive. Serr stood still again, feeling the weight of what he was considering smothering all of his twitchier impulses. It was only a breath or two later before he seemed to make a decision, moving closer as he gave Gift a firm push to keep her from interfering. He circled Eziya with his arms, loosely enough so that she could pull away if she wanted. "Things will work out. We have the numbers to show them they can't win."He had no way of knowing what the Alkidike were hiding that might tip this situation in their favor. Still, he would lie if it served to soothe her now, even if it gave her reason to be mad at him in the future.

Vy Jelanii; Shaka is short so is it fine for me to have him looking up at your boyo Mynshaka Post 5
"Ehh.. wasna going to come but the father said it'd be good fer me to come. Not sure iffn Ahm glad or not Ah came." He could have gone without being so near obans after all.. eyesores the lot of them!
He eyed the taller matorian who pulled Cerith away. "Oi twig.. no need to go a-hurtin' her! Ah was jest sayin' hi... sheesh." Though since she had called the other 'brother' he could understand why the other wouldn't want him near his sister. Just to annoy him though, Shaka moved to stand next to Cerith leaning an arm on her shoulder instead of about them.
"As fer the whole fight... thas a good reason Cerith... Ah'd say we got no reason to go. We'd have to cross all of Oba, then go find the place... any of us ever been beyond oba? Ah dun think so... well.. maybe the moon boy here has." He added as he looked at the shifter.
"So why go to some place we ain't even know where tis only to find there's no fight? Ah'd rather stay here and rebuild... and train of course." He shook his head, his short pony tail whipping the backs of his ears. "Gotta fix problems at home afore we go out and try to fix other's issues!"

SRIINA POST 6
Sriina looked around at the crowd and had to shake her head. Not only was there enough arguing here to last her for the rest of the year, but it would seem that the side that wanted to help was starting to outnumber those that wanted to stay. Serves them right. If things turn south, they have no one to blame but themselves.
Sriina still hadn't decided yet if she would bother to come along even if the majority did demand it.

Aseara - Post #5It wasn’t hard to notice Nuri stepping in close to her; Aseara glanced around and saw the Oban eyeing them. She would never be able to win would she? She was killing Nuri’s chances at a good career wasn’t she? Or even killing his future as a husband since what would the Oban women think with him so close to a Wind Earthling. For once since coming to Oba, Aseara was hyper aware of the consequences of her relationship with Nuri. She wanted to ask him if she was hurting him, but this was not the right place to ask and perhaps not even the best time for such a discussion.
At least the Wind earthling understood his reason; she knew he was a soldier after all. The King came first and his orders would always be Nuri’s main priority. Aseara didn’t know if he was trying to save her feelings by telling her he didn’t know how he felt about it all or of it was a genuine feeling. She knew it wasn’t his duty to run off to war, she knew this and yet she still felt a twinge in her heart. So she understood what he was saying even if her own feelings were fighting with the idea.
He seemed to be struggling, Aeara could see that much. Yes Sauti was where she’d been born, was it her home? No. She had been more than happy to leave it behind when Afsana had picked her up. The only things left in Sauti for Aseara were the memories of her parents and even those did not bring joy to her heart. She wanted to comfort him, to tell him that the only reason she was for this was because she felt her own sense of duty. She was Wind; ought she not to be vouching for them to help her people?
Aseara felt, in this moment, she should.
Placing her hand on his chest to calm Nuri, Aseara sucked in a breath. “Nuri,” how did she tell him about her past? Her parents death and the challenges she had faced with the other orphans of war? She could not, not yet anyway. “I came to Oba young, I left Sauti. The only obligation, the only ties, I have to the place is my appearance.” Her answer was short of lying. “The Wind are my people, but my ties are here in Oba. My life is here, but I can’t help but feel like I should be for this war since they are my people.”
This was all so confusing even for Aseara.

Solari - Post #5As Sriina spoke, Solari nodded her head; she was of the same mind as her. “I don’t really want to bother with tagging along either.” This war, it had nothing to do with her. Sriina was correct in calling it madness, Solari was surprised to see so many Obans were for this after what had happened at the last war. She would have thought that most if not all of the Obans would have wanted to stay completely out of the way, let the others kill themselves. Solari shook her head. “They’re going to end up killing themselves.” She said with a sigh.

Karothdra - Post #5Obans were so tricky and it wasn’t only Karothdra’s family. “Families either end up making you stronger or destroy you in the process.” That’s all she was going to share on the subject so Karothdra turned to Eleina’s other questions. She wasn’t really sure how to respond to her. She didn’t think she would have to join the army, many times armies gathered stragglers from all over the place. She figured if Eleina was good with following orders they’d let her go anywhere. Or at least that’s what she thought, she’d only joined and she was certainly not wholly sure how people outside worked within the army.
Not yet anyways.
“I think you’ll be fine if you just follow orders. I’m sure the high ranked officers will have a place for everyone as long as they don’t cause a disturbance. And who knows, maybe you’ll end up liking it and join.” War was an ugly thing though. “The King will decide in any case.”

Incanthis Post 4"I worry for those caught in the way of the Alkidike, those who don't want to get into anymore battles." He said in a quiet tone of voice, one that might not be caught if the twins weren't really paying attention to what it was that he was saying. He couldn't help but to fret over the fact that there were members of his family that might be caught up in. He wanted to run to them... but given he didn't know where they were or if they even wanted to see him it was likely a poor decision. Looking over at the one called Mave he gave him a nod of his head, listening as Abie explained who the man was. A friend of their mentor, so surely a good person? He was someone who had taught them how to play various games, which was a good thing. Incanthis gave the man a smile, "It's good to meet you." He said, turning to watch was Abie tried, and failed at the game before them. There was part of him that wondered if he perhaps he should help with his magic to help Abie win, but decided against. He didn't want to cheat to help them to win, especially if it was Abie's favorite game. He was sure to figure it out. As Aqio spoke up, mentioning the large brood of kids that the man had, he felt his stomach clench a bit. That many children? Was this man the same as his own father? Trying to breed himself his own band of warriors? It was something that had his hands clasping tightly behind his back at the mere thought of it. He didn't much care for people that saw their mates and wives as nothing more then breeding stock... but who was he to judge the man? He might not be the same, maybe he actually liked kids? Who was to say, but due to having zero knowledge of the man Incanthis merely fell quiet so that he could listen to what the trio around him had to say, feeling he might learn more about them. What he did learn was the man seemed to run a lot of businesses, making him wonder if that was what he wanted the kids for, to have them work for him...? Not a thought Incanthis particularly savored so he did his best to ignore it for the time being.

Eziya Post 6Eziya was surprised at the sudden hug, but grateful for the contact. Gift wasn't exactly pleased by the push she had received from Serr, but didn't try to force her head between them like she normally would. Eziya was too distracted by his arms around her to bother with the stubborn Xaraan. Her arms found her way around Serr's waist as she leaned her head against his shoulder in an attempt to calm down. He was probably right about it all. They greatly outnumbered the Alkidike, so there really was no way they'd be able to handle them all. They would have to catch every other race by surprise in order to win. Since they already knew they were trying to take Sauti it wasn't really possible. "You're right of course. They would have to have something fairly epic to beat all of us," she nodded, trying to reassure herself in some small way. "Though if something like that did happened I'd still want to stay and help no matter what. If I can save lives then that's the important thing." She didn't have a death wish or anything, but risking her life for a noble cause was a good idea to her. Kani Post 6"He's talking about or homes after what the Obans did. Though if we don't help then the Alkidike will continue on and ruin things even more," Kani explained to Nuawahn, turning back to Gael. So he didn't want to help as it seemed. She figured he would want to go out and help more, but she was wrong. She wasn't mad or even really upset that he opposed her views, but she did wonder why. She knew he'd never really explored outside of Matori before, so if not to get a fight and prove that the water earthlings were capable then why not to explore? Kani didn't know as much about Gael's thinking as she would like. "Do you plan on helping Sauti, sir wind man?" She didn't know his name yet, so that was really all she knew him as.

Nuri Post 6
Nuri watched Aseara closely, trying to read her despite the crowd around them. She seemed to be distracted with some thoughts, and he wished she would speak out about whatever was bothering her. Then again, it could still be that their differences were an issue, and that was something he wasn't sure he could ever solve. Growing up in two different worlds, the two were bound to clash for their views - especially on a topic like Sauti and the Earthlings.
Suddenly, he felt her dainty hand on his bare chest, the heat of her palm causing his heart to skip before racing. He held his breath as he waited for her to speak, uncertain as to what to do and what she might say.
When she finally began to speak of her past, here in the middle of the crowd, he swallowed and kept his gaze on her. His eyes narrowed a bit as he realized she was trying to show her reasons as well, and that she really had no connection to the foreign land. When she spoke of Oba being her place, her true ties, and that she simply wanted to help Sauti because they were her people, he turned his gaze away to think.
If he were in her shoes, he would jump to help Oba. Yet, he had a family to protect, and had begun to make friends and a name for himself. She seemed to have done the same, but in Oba. Growing up here, learning her skill here, she had acclimated and become an Oban in all but blood. Even her clothing matched their styles.
"I...think I can understand." He finally said, looking back to her and giving her a smile, "...you don't need to say any more of it."
He took a risk, and lifted his hand to gently rest on her own before patting it and letting his hand drop. Clearing his throat and stepping away, he looked around a moment longer before looking at her again, "Let us talk about something else...did you dance in the festival?"
It was a weak attempt at a topic change, but Nuri felt uncomfortable with so many ears listening in for them to speak any more of their personal affairs and feelings. Both had set their ground, and he could respect her need to protect her home, even if he felt no desire to race out there himself.

Aseara - Post #6The Wind Earthling stared at the hand Nuri had placed over her own long and hard to prevent herself from looking around and seeing who was looking at them. Why did things have to be so… Difficult and complicated? Life seemed to have been much simpler before. She’d come to Oba, had a roof above her head, a full belly, dancing lessons that would make anyone jealous, and no worries. Yet, things had also gotten much more interesting. She’s met Nuri and Khalel both of which she cared for deeply. She was making a name for herself, would soon be able to go off on her own…
Still, war ruined things.
Aseara felt a deep hatred for war. Every single step in her life had been plagued for war. When would it end? The thought seemed to put the Wind Earthling in a bad mood until she felt Nuri’s hand slip away and Aseara dropped her own. She shouldn’t have touched him in the first place, too many eyes watching and judging them again. When were they going to learn that someday, people were going to mix and match and there was nothing they could do about it. There was no point in being angry anymore, not now anyways. Aseara couldn’t do anything about it; she may as well stop whining about it.
“Thank you.” Aseara wanted to say more, and perhaps he would see this in her expression before she dropped it to look at the crowd around them. She just couldn’t right now. Not yet. She needed more trust.
“I did,” Ah the change of subject was a nice one. “The top dancers were chosen and performed on stage, I think Afsana wanted to show that her girls weren’t just good at well… Other activities.” Afsana had been quite angry recently, no one was sure why but some dancers had simply vanished without a word. Their rooms were cleared and it was as if the girls had never been there. It was weird; some of the girls were growing worried. On the good side, a lot of them had straightened out and had stopped breaking rules. “What about you? Did you do anything special for the festival?”
