Talin post 5 User Image
Talin laughed; "Awww.. is the lil bug person surprised that earthlings can do more than cower? It amazes me just how stupid your kind can get.... Do you really think your people are the only ones who matter? That nobody else is a fighter?" He laughed mockingly; "Go home bug. You can't defeat the shfiters, you couldn't fight the obans without losing like the rest of us, and now you're people are going to get killed because you're too stupid and arrogant to realize that we're dangerous."

He really hated that arrogance.. why did all the alkidikes he meet look down upon his people? Like being born from a tree made them special some how!
He grinned as the arrow let fly... but because Freya was between him and the Alkidikes, he didn't join in.. not yet anyways. Why'd the ice queen have to move there? he thought, she's in my way!

Kayin post 4

Kayin shot Zuri an offended look, though it was brief so who knew if she caught it. Panic. Please. She paniced when Alek went missing. She paniced a lot honestly, but he was right here now and unless one of those buggy ladies shot him or caught him on fire there really was no reason for her to panic.

"I actually kind of wanted to go and be a scout..." she said quietly so only those close by could hear. "It was my one chance to actually be useful. I guess fate just wants to put me in my place again." Her tone was jovial, though still there seemed a tinge of sadness in a few of the syllables.

He too had wanted Kayin to... well... find herself here somehow. It was a terrible thought, that she might only truly figure out what she wanted to be when confronted with the most horrible of circumstances, but it had sort of worked for him, after a fashion. He couldn't bring himself to say any of that though, so he leaned toward her instead, his gaze still fixed on the conflict as he whispered a reply.

"It's not even close to your one chance. You could subdue that woman right now and become the Hero of Sauti." He swallowed. "Don't... try to subdue that woman without a weapon, please."

Freya barely flinched as the arrow whizzed by her to skim off the alkidikes leg; apparently there were people here that agreed with her sentiment that these alkidikes should not be here! Good...then hopefully they could get the first blows in, always a nice thing to draw first blood! But before she could do more than start to pull out her whip, ready to attack; Vescillea brought the crowd to a halt.

"Enough! I will not allow an alkidike to come here and ruin our festival... nor allow my people to start a war! Put your weapons up... all of you." She yelled, her normally cheerful voice harsh and cutting, eyes flashing with anger as she strode towards the bowman in the tree. "Get down from there and out of my sight!" She glared over at the others with weapons in their hands before turning angrily to Aselia and her companions, several of whom were also caught in the act of drawing weapons.

"You say you are here for our Suruhama? That you will come and act so arrogant, say such insults and expect to get away with it? Well, little girl, you will not be allowed to do so! You are to leave at once. Our borders are closed to you, alkidike mystic, and until the threat of your people goes away, you may not enter our lands. Other alkidikes who are known to us and who are not so arrogant or disrespectful of our people and ways will be allowed to come and go as they please. But all who speak as you do, who insult us and consider us lesser beings, those who seek to take lands away from others, are no longer welcome here." She waved a hand at the warriors present.

"Those here will escort you out... and if any of you try to sneak off or return, we will attack. The only reason you are still alive and not dead right now is that I do not wish a war... And killing you will only justify the Alkidikes overly aggressive actions." Her words were made of stone, there would be no arguing or getting around it. Word would be passed through the clans; any alkidike who acted as an extremist was to be kicked out of Sauti; only those who were respectful of the wind people and their ways would be allowed to live in peace.

Warriors moved in, leaving the way open behind, they would see their councilor's promise out. Already those on the edges of the crowd were leaving to spread word of the verdict. But Vescillea was not yet done, as the alkidikes were begin driven out, she gave one last word before turning away.

"Should your people try to start a war with us, we will fight... but only if you come to us. I refuse to allow my people to be used by your arrogant actions to justify any war. If you come, you come as arrogant conquers.. just like the obans were."

Freya stood silent, she had not expected her friend to do this.. but perhaps she should have. Vescillea may have been kind, but she was also known for very rash and rushing into things.... As the alkidikes were driven out of the festival, from the north came a messenger. He wore the clothing of an Oracle's messenger and the crowd, those who knew what the Oracle's were, watched eagerly. Freya accepted the scroll and opened it; her eyes quickly scanning the single sentence written upon it.

"Sauti will need allies to withstand the coming storm."

So it was true. The alkidikes were coming. "Perhaps, Vescillea, we should have killed them. The alkidikes are coming." She said as she looked over at the crowds. "Take those who cannot or do not wish to fight deeper into the mountains where the alkidikes will not be able to find them! Those who wish to fight.... we will meet in Tind in three days time to prepare for the assault."

Ime- post 7

So that was it, then. Sauti would be fighting back against the impending invasion. It was the right thing to do, she knew that in her heart, but it hurt. She winced and shook her head, wrapping her arms around Thorn and pressing her head into his chest. Oh, Chi, would he be fighting? She hoped he would stay, but at the same time knew she could not keep him from fighting. Maybe it was time she came with him. She reached up and stroked his hair, frowning deeply. A war was just what Tendaji needed, wasn't it? Especially so soon.

At least she could pray for peace.

Aselia post 7

"Your festival has already come to a close!" Aselia spat, "these are just those lingering afterwards due to your declarations." Her face was livid as she stared Vescillea down. She had no intention of subduing those sister among her she had come here to find the Suruhama, but the crystal crawlers had lumped her in with rumors they didn't even know existed. She had even explained herself, defended herself, and here she was still being treated like vermin. She snarled as the first of the crystal crawlers came towards her. Watching as he flinched back. Laughter broke out from her that nearly caused her to double over. "What are you going to do about it you old crone. Follow me about? you can't stand at every intersection of the boarder pointing your fingers going. You shall not pass!'"

Snarling again as hands were laid on her Aselia managed to dodge the first two but her wrist was quickly grabbed and it pulled her forward. Disarmed of her quiver Aselia writhed a she moved to break free. "Mark my words old hags! War has already begun for the treatment you have presented, for the conclusions you drew when when we were ... get your grubby hands off me... only here to see the suruhama. You're worse than I ever thought about your kind." Aselia continued to struggle against those around her. "I will be back, and I wont be alone!" If they wanted to jump to conclusions, force her to defend herself, claim she was something that she wasn't. Well then those whom she had joined in name were more than just that. The extremists had accepted her, and taught her, had been with her since she had left Chibale. And they had been right about the Crystal crawlers this whole time! Evil, spineless. Wincing at the wound in her leg Aselia shifted her gaze around the crowd. "You'll all pay for this! You can't keep me out!"

Her next move would be to report to her fellow sisters. To give them as many details of the terrain, path, and people as she could. She wasn't going to forgive them for this. Never.

Dezani Post 7

"It sounds like we are going to war after all," Dezani sighed, watching the young mystic storm off. He hated that it had come to this-that they would have to fight others in order to protect their homes. He just wanted there to be peace, but if they wouldn't allow it then he wouldn't back down. He would defend Sauti and every other nation if he had to in order to keep others safe from the invasion. Those who fought against them would meet his lance.

"I don't know about you, Araie, but I'm going to fight to protect this place." He was okay if she had a different view on the matter, and he really wouldn't blame her if she left and went to protect her own family.

Zumei Post 6

So the mystic had declared war on them. From what she was saying did she think calling people names and getting so hostile was defending herself? Either way it had all ended badly. Now the Alkidike were sure to come and they would have to protect Sauti from their forces, however large they might be. Turning back to Eije, she frowned at the Iceling. She didn't want to leave. She wanted to stay and help, and she hoped Eije did as well.

"I'm going to stay and help keep Sauti safe. I think it's the right thing to do," she nodded to herself, looking around at all the others. Most had weapons on them or some way to protect themselves. While she had nothing, she was sure she could find something to help. Maybe she could ask someone to borrow a weapon?

"I'll have to find something to fight with! But I will protect my home!"

Araie Post 7

Araie watched the young mystic shout in rage before she left, and she swore she could see the murderous intent in her eyes. So, they were going to war after all. It wasn't what she wanted, but she guessed sometimes drastic measures had to be taken to deal with drastic problems. Still, she feared the death and pain that would come with a full out war.

"Of course I'm going to fight. I don't want to see anybody killed, but if the alkidikes are going to push us into a battle, then I will fight to keep them from hurting anybody. This is not their land and I'll make sure they know it." Araie answered, a quiet passion in her voice. She turned to look up at Dezani, worry on her face. "Just promise me we'll stick together. I don't want to see you get hurt."

War was coming, and whether she liked it or not, things were going to change for everybody involved. She only hoped that everybody made it out in one piece.

Eije Post 7

As the fight ended and the mystic dragged away, the tension seemed to linger. The sacred bird was safe for now, but the Alkidike were still coming. Now they would have to face them. Eije shook her head, finally settling to the point where she crossed her arms. “Well, that got out of hand,” it was more a murmur to herself, another habit she had picked up by travelling with Namidu. But she turned to the wind female with a stern nod, “I agree. I’ll be here to help Sauti in any way that I can.”

She grinned at the enthusiasm from the other female, though she was still concerned for her safety, “Well, if you ever need a sparring partner to prepare for what’s to come, I’ll be happy to be of service!” She wouldn't leave her hanging.

Thorn Post 6

"It's okay Ime that crazy woman is gone, thank goodness." He hugged her close, but now what, what would they do? Besides head to the front, and be ready to fight when the alks came to them, ick. He would hate the waiting for this part, it was not in a thief's nature to wait for the enemy to find him. Instead a smart thief would run as far and as fast as he could from such an obvious threat to his safety and even further to protect his mate. Thorn was no longer the most important thing to him. At least Ime was a healer, but her unique coloring would mark her to the others and he wanted to be able to stuff them back where they came from if they tried anything.

Talin post 6 User Image
Talin grinned; this was fun! SO fascinating to see his people turn on the lakidikes! Glad to know I'll have a place to come to if things ever turn sour and they can't follow me back! It was a happy thought.. as was the scene unfolding before him. He put his daggers and resumed lounging as Vescillea gave the stupid bugs a lecture and kicked them out. Good riddance!

"Oh hush your whining and posturing bug! Get out of here before you piss too many off and we ignore our leaders orders! He called out as the young mystic tried to bluster and continue with her arrogance.

He would volunteer to be a scout and be on the front lines.. well.. preferably behind the front lines or in a nice ambush position. Talin nodded as the idea occurred to him; he'd get his family's warriors to set up in a good ambush position...

"Festival, food.. and now a fight. This is a fun year to return home to!" He laughed.

L'lhynd Post 5

Of the things L'lhynd wanted in life... war was very far from one of them. He'd choose living by Zuberi's side in a hot second to the looming war that threatened him here. But what he needed most of all... that would be sleep. And some sort of quiet room to calm down in so he could approach this whole mess a little more rationally. He could figure out his exit from there, with or without Kdal and Zuberi. He already felt that he would put himself in grave danger then... but he couldn't possible fight in a war. What was he supposed to do, knit at an on-coming enemy? He wouldn't even be sure how to make armor or weapons... he was fairly certain his skills as a tailor were useless in this sort of circumstance. And then there was the matter of dying... or worse being captured again. He didn't want either of those things happening... and he'd make sure they didn't.

Zuri - Post Seven
Zuri frowned towards Kayin. Although she didn't agree with her bother's words, she didn't like to see her sister in such a down mood. "Alek's right. Just because you haven't found your calling doesn't make you useless." she tried to make her voice seem more like that of a sister, but it came out more motherly then she would have liked.

When everything went down and the decision to stand their ground was made she took a deep breath. It seemed like war was upon them again. "Come on, we should try to get some supplies from home before this starts. Maybe I'll offer up my old home to those of the wind tribe who cannot fight." she said the last sentence to herself more then anything.

Looking at her siblings she tried to smile. This wasn't going to be fun.

Kdal Post 6
Kdal watched at L'lhynd struggled with whatever was going on in his head, and refrained from reaching out and stroking his hair. From pulling him to her so that she could give him a hug. She felt that if she did so, it would just set him off early.

"Hey, hey L'lhynd." She said, voice soft, "You know that you don't have to go with us right? It'll be much safer for you if you evacuated with the rest of the non-combatants. It'll ease my mind if you did." She offered him a lopsided smile. "Promise we'll come back to you too, in one piece."

Neibet Post 6

Neibet wasn't a hotheaded sapling, but she could feel her blood boiling in her veins at the words of the frozen crystal crawlers leader. Or was she the leader of the pink crawlers? Either way Neibet found that she hated the creature. Aselia had explained herself, like she did so rarely to outsiders, and still they found themselves treated like they were others.

The snarl that bubbled up from her throat when one of their weak warriors tried to reach for her had him jerking his hand back. It was the only mark of common sense she'd seen that day, as none of the others tried to lay a hand on her afterwards. Perhaps they thought they had a bargaining chip, with how they were dragging Aselia, a Mystic, around like she were an errant Radaku pup. They didn't know just how deeply they were digging their hole, one she'd be glad to kick them into.

alek post six

As it turned out, there was no need to subdue anyone as Vescillea handily took care of that herself. For a couple of breaths Alek felt proud, almost smug, as the Wind ran the extremists off, but he only retained his backbone for so long. They might have come here to observe, to wait for the supposed suruhama, but now the Alkidike had been angered. They would have even more of a desire to fight, and many would likely use the injury of their Mystic as reason to.

He nodded at his sisters. "Supplies. And then to Tind."
