"I don't need anyone to get the tall stuff! I'm tall for short people!" He scowled, accepting the pot none the less and placing it on the stove before grabbing the bacon and throwing it into the pot and turning the burner onto a medium setting. "I guess." "Mom, Dad your home!" The twins cried before the sound of running and giggling could be heard. "Actually you're gonna go see my mother. I'll handle dinner. Just send Janette in here to help me with the chicken." He said calmly as he put a lid over the pot. "Alexis are you cooking bac... Oh hello Jared! I didn't know you would be dining with us tonight. Oh this is nice! I love having people over for dinner!" Mrs, Dominique cooed, her long black hair falling over her shoulders while her purple, grey eyes held nothing but joy and affection. "Mom JJ needs you to see something! Sorry, I only do this to you because I care!" Alexis' sudden outburst surprised his mother who just laughed. "Well then! Alright, wash your hands then Jared and follow me. I'll take you to the bathroom so no one else sees. What did you do?" Marie smiled as she motioned for JJ to follow her and raised an eyebrow at her son who refused to look at his boyfriend. Pourquoi je ne veux pas le faire?  JJ jumped when he heard the twins announce their parents were home. "s**t-" he whispered softly. "Alex-" he pleaded, but his mother was in the kitchen and before he could reply to the woman, Alex told his mom. "No, really," he tried to argue, "i'm fine..." Alex refused to look at him and JJ sighed. he knew alex wouldn't forgive him if he refused to go. he dropped his eyes and washed his hands, his stomach clenching in nerves. he followed Alex's mother to the bathroom, not wanting to look at anyone. "Jennette, Alex needs your help in the kitchen," he said as they passed the girl. they were in the bathroom much sooner than he'd like and JJ decided it was better to get it over with as quickly as possible so he started to unbutton his shirt. "Alex is just worrying, really. i-just, there was an incident at work, and..." he shut up before he could finish such a lame excuse. he didn't even know what he was going to finish it with. JJ shed both shirts at once and looked down, fighting the urge to cover his stomach. he never felt this self conscious, but for some reason he felt as if Mrs. Dominique could see right through him. "just a bruise, it'll go away in a week or two..."You have captured me.

How ever even she was a bit thrown off by the giant bruise on JJ's abdomen. "And accident you say?" She asked as the sound of Alex screaming filled the house followed by a heated argument in french between him and Janette. "Did this argument involve a fist or a foot? No definitely a hand, I see where a ring might of been shoved into your side. Lets see... It's swelling quite nicely but I don't see any permanent damage except maybe a fancy new scar from the jewel. What did Lexi bear have you worried about? Internal bleeding? Hemorrhaging? That boy, he worries to much over everything." She chuckled quietly as she lightly pressed her fingers around JJ's stomach looking for any strange lumps. "Who did this to you? Do you need a safe place? The girls and Alex use the attic. I go up there with them a lot. We sit up there and talk about whatever is on their mind and then we find solutions to the problem. I could go with you to the attic. But, if you aren't interested I could just get you an icepack and sit you down on a couch. I wont prod. But, you do need to be careful with the area around your stomach, it's full of important organs and with a well aimed punch you could of ended up in the hospital." She murmured quietly before going to dig around in the medicine cabinet and coming up with a tube of ointment. "Here I'm going to apply a bit of Arnica gel for the bruising. It wont heal it right up but it does speed the process along. Now this may be cold." She squeezed a bit of the gel onto her fingers before applying it to the bruised area, being careful not to press down to hard. JJ's face reddened as she spoke, of course a trained eye knew exactly what to look for. when she told him to be careful with his stomach he shook his head, "dad boxes, he know where to hit without doing permanent damage. at least not enough to put me back in the ER..." he cringed, "Alex got it from you, didn't he? the ability to make me say everything i'm trying to hide." he almost pouted, almost. "i don't need a safe place, i haven't lived with him for years. it's just at work...it's where i got the split lip yesterday too," he confessed. "things aren't going his way at work and it's mostly my fault. at least it is in his mind." he shrugged a little, his side flinching at the touch of the cool ointment. "thank you. and sorry, i told Alex it was fine. not the worse I've dealt with." he tried to give her a small smile when she was done rubbing in the lotion. "he wouldn't leave me alone unless i let you look." he started to put his shirt back on, but hesitated while buttoning up the outer one, "um-" he blushed, "you...if you want to tell your husband i understand. secrets between married couples are never a good thing...trust me, i've seen it. besides, maybe he won't think me some kind of hooligan if i show up with the odd bump now and then." he finished his shirt. "thanks again, Mrs. Dominique." You have captured me.

You're on your way to being family now so I love you the same way I love my kids." Marei chuckled quietly at JJ's comment on her's and Alexis' easiness to confess to. "As for you're father he shouldn't have to know where to hit you. A good father never raises his hand to his children. Yannik and I have never hit the kids and we never will. Just know that none of this is your fault. You will be told that it is but you need to remember that only you can create your own unhappiness. People can help but it is ultimately up to you to choose to be happy or not. And next time Alexis tries to get you to do anything you don't want to do even if he thinks it's for your own good just tell him he is turning into me and he will shut right up." She pulled her fingers back to allow JJ to put back on his shirts while she wiped her hands on a hand towel that had been hanging on a hook. "I wont tell Yannik anything. Patient confidentiality i promise. And, don't worry about Yannik. I can tell you're a good kid and he will see that soon enough. Besides if you hurt my baby I'm the one you will deal with. Now don't thank me I'm just doing my job as a mother. Now go get yourself onto a couch and relax. Maybe strike up a conversation with Yannik! That could be fun." She opened th door to the bathroom which allowed the feint sound of two people giggling from the kitchen to reach them. She merely just shook her head and gestured for JJ to follow her quietly. Pourquoi je ne veux pas le faire? JJ didn't understand how these people could just care for him like this. he'd never had that. someone who like him for him. the men and women he picked up were usually after his looks or his money. he never dated anyone more than twice, except for Alex, and yet Alex's family was letting him in and caring about him when less than a week ago he'd been an annoyance to Alex and a means to tease Alex to his family. "Yeah," he muttered as he walked out of the bathroom, "fun]/i]" he gave Mrs Dominique a smile before wandering to the living room where, low and behold, Mr Dominique was sitting. Well s**t. "Evening, sir," he said politely before carefully lowering himself onto the surprisingly deep couches. despite his nap, JJ felt he could easily pass out on these amazingly soft couches. "where did you get these? they're amazing!" he asked, hoping that was an innocent enough conversation starter. You have captured me.

Yannik did not seem as happy as the cooks were. He just watched silently as the heathen made himself comfortable in one of his couches, sinking down into it like he owned it. "It's just a couch I don't know where Marie found them." He grunted, looking the boy over carefully. His displeasure was evident as he leaned back in his own chair, but he had to at least atempt to see what his son saw in the scrappy looking boy in his living room. "Look lets just cut to the chase. You're dating my boy and while I don't have a problem with you being a man I do have a problem with how persistant you were to get here. So, what do you want? The right to say that you got with a Maid? To be some poor boy's first? Or do you actually want to have something with my boy? Because if your intentions are anything but pure I will throw you out of here right now and get a restraining order on you. It's bad enough my youngest goes off with all of these 'bad boy' types. I don't want Alexis getting sucked into that mess." He growled as he stared the boy down from across the room. Pourquoi je ne veux pas le faire? JJ groaned internally, here was the talk he'd been expecting all along. He straightened his back, surprised by how much pain the ointment was actually numbing. he steadied himself before smiling softly at the older man, "none of the above, sir." he shifted in his seat and looked down, struggling for words, "I will admit, when i first met Alex i was interested in his looks. but what really drew me in was him rejecting my advances. I won't lie, sir, i've never been rejected before and i was intrigued. so i came back. i got to know Alex little by little and the more i learned about him the more i wanted to know. i'm not sure what happened either, why Alex specifically, but I do know that right now all I want is for him to be happy. I know you don't like me, sir. But you are judging from my appearance, just as Alex did at first. he judged me from my appearance and refused to give me the time of day. but now that he knows me...well, i'd like to think he's fond of me at least. all i ask is you at least give me a chance. I know what I look like, I know what image i portray, but I also know that I care for your son and as much as i'd like to run away from you and hide behind him, he'd be happier for us to get along. i'm willing to try, but if you'd rather i return to the kitchen, i understand." he had folded his hands and hung them between his knees. his eyes were fixed on them, afraid to look the man in the face. part of him was preparing for the man to come at him. he wouldn't hit his own children, but what's to stop him from hitting some punk a** kid intruding on his family? It took him some time to calm down but once he did his glare was replaced with an amused smile. "Now thats what I like to see! A man with a backbone! I was starting to grow tired of all the squeamish men my daughters would bring home. Alright kid I'll give you a chance. But, be warned Alex is equally as beautiful and tricky as his mother. You never know what he is gonna do or when he is being serious. Boy I've seen him lure people in with his charm just because his sisters will dare him to. Don't be fooled. He likes tricking people, that's the real reason he goes through with this Maid cafe s**t. Gets a kick out of it I, Ouch!" Yannik's hands flew to the back of his head when something hard hit him. "Stop talking about me papa and come eat. JJ I hope you don't mind sitting between me and my mother." Alexis smiled at his blue haired interest, a light dusting of pink on his cheeks the only give away that he had been drinking... For now. "You-don't hate me?" he asked, hesitating. not only was Yannik going to give him a chance, but he was giving JJ advice. "I'll take not-" he said, smiling shyly, but Yannik was interrupted by Alex walking in. "I don't mind," he said quickly, standing up to hurry to Alex. he saw the red tinge and shook his head a bit, just how much had Alex drink? then again, he'd said that you weren't doing it right if you weren't tipsy, so it looks like he'd done it right. "lead the way," he offered before following Alex to the dinning room. he sat where instructed, looking around the table. when was the last time he'd had a meal with more than just his date? he didn't count business meetings disguised as meals. "Smells amazing, i hope you actually put some of the wine in the stew."((totally ok!)) You have captured me.

"I don't know. With both Janette and Lex drinking in the kitchen. I wouldn't be surprised if they drank it all themselves." Lilith chuckled at the little pout both Janette and Alexis gave her. "I would like to inform you both that dinner was made with all of it's ingerdiants and that my sister and I are both responsible people drinking in the safty of our own house so bugger off." He might of been convincing if he hadn't of leaned to the side to much and bumped into JJ. "Ladies and gentleman, our brother queen of the cross dressers and lightweight extraordinaire." The twins giggled in unison, as they smiled at each other from across the table. "You guys aren't being right! Wait..." While Janette tried to get her thoughts in order Marie looked over at JJ. "So Jared, how do you feel about being a part of this family? Are you sure you still want to do this?" Marie whispered quietly before she began to start serving everyone. Pourquoi je ne veux pas le faire? JJ huffed out a pained breath when Alex bumped his bruised side, but did his best to hide any other reaction. He gave Marie a small smile when she asked if she still wanted to be a part of this family. "It's by far better than mine," he replied softly as he helped pass dishes around. "i don't know if we've ever sat down for a family meal with just us." maybe when he was a child, but probably not even then. "it's nice." he was keeping an eye on Alex, wondering if his boyfriend would be able to feed himself the hot stew safely in this state. "want me to feed you, Sir Lightweight?" he asked with a little smirk, handing Alex a roll to go with his bowl. it was loud and full of laughter and something that JJ hadn't known he was missing was filled. his smile widened slightly and he broke off a piece of his own roll. he dipped it in his stew and help it out to Alex "Could be fun."You have captured me.

What kind of family didn't eat together? He wished that he could have these moments with his family everyday, and he would if he didn't have to travel so much for work. His attention was grabbed by the twins who were getting a little to restless and started tossing food onto each other's plate and that never ended well. "Well Jared you can eat here with us any day. We will always welcome you." Marie said in her motherly way, thankful that someone else had gotten up to help her. "I don't need to be fed! I'm a grown man!" Alexis said banging his fist on the table only to knock his knife down from the table. "Lex you lost your man card the day you agreed to put on the uniform and take our shift." Chantel smirked while Rosina giggled at her brother's pouting. "Hey in his defense we did sort of hold him down so we could get the uniform on him. And, I remember your cross dressing days you two. Going to the mall to see how many girl's numbers you could get." It was full on war between the twins and Lilith now, their conversation quickly melting into heated french which Yannik tried to calm down while Marie just smiled and watched. "Fun for you maybe." Alexis muttered under his breath as he tore his eyes away from the argument, but he leaned forward anyways and accepted the food that was offered to him. Nipping JJ's finger as a sign of displeasure. "Mama! Lex is trying to seduce JJ at the table!" "You call that seduction?" he teasing, shaking his head, "you really need to up your game. i'd give you lessons, but i don't want to make Alex here jealous." he winked at Alex and went to eating his own food. "let me know if you need help, love," he offered. he took his first bite and hummed in pleasure. "this is delicious. thank you." he kissed Alex on the kiss as a sign of his appreciation, "you do know how to cook. maybe we should have that dinner at my place sooner rather than later." he continued to eat, keeping mostly quiet, just observing the family and making sure Alex didn't hurt himself.
