Thank you!

It's been super up and down all my life with a lot of quitting and restarting - but something just finally clicked. It's always the first question people ask, but to be honest I'm less impressed and interested in numbers than hearing someone is taking the steps to be healthier! So good on you!

That actually sounds very similar to what I'm doing! I cut out most carbs, get all my carbs from veggies or high fiber nuts and seeds. Mostly meat, veggies, eggs and cheese. And drinking lots of water of course!

Same here! Sadly, I think nuts and cheese are gross. So I'm drinking a lot of water as well, and eat a lot of meat, eggs and this yoghurt kind of thing. 3nodding

Hello! I'm new to the guild. You can call me Amri - though I also go by Raava online. I'm an older gaian at 27, and mostly just enjoy chatting with people and playing the games occasionally since I live in a state/town where there really isn't much to do! Well, to be fair, there's plenty to do in the summer, but as people around here like to say, that only lasts about 2.5 months.

I work with children, and am hip to all those awesome Disney Jr. shows the kids are watching these days. It's mostly to save money - I studied edumacation in college, but my life has taken a different turn and I have little real interest in making it a career anymore despite loving kids. I want to go back to school for something in IT, or fitness and nutrition. I am in the middle of my weightloss journey, and want to help others who like me have struggled with weight all their lives. (For the curious, I am nearly 70lbs down and still going)

My main hobbies include gaming, crochet, drawing, running and dance fitness. I also like to roleplay when I can find the time.

You will have my immediate attention if anything involving Mass Effect or Dragon Age is mentioned.

I can't think of anything else off the top of my head, but I love to meet people - so don't be shy!

Nice to meet you. I have been recently struggling and thought you could help. i don't know whether I should get Dragon Age: Inquisition or the Witcher 3. I already have one friend who is Witcher mad so i have decided to get a Dragon Age point of view. I also really wanted to know more about the dragons in Dragon Age (I have a minor hobby of collecting dragon information. Cause I love dragons. they're so cool! whee )

Hello! To answer you I might have slight spoilers for the game, but nothing that gives away anything vital! Still, I'll stick it behind a tag!

Also, just want to note I've not played the witcher series yet but I hear very good things and will probably be getting 3 at some point myself!

Dragon Age is very much an interactive roleplaying story, with you as the main character. Almost everything is guided by choices that you make, which will change how characters interact with you while you follow the story. Even your initial character choices: race, gender and class will make differences in conversations and how your character is regarded and giving you special dialogue options at certain points.

It is very exploration based. You have a main storyline that is unlocked by gathering enough influence running around different maps and helping people. This can include anything from fetch quests to slaying dragons that are terrorizing towns.

There are ten different dragons in the wild, the first of which you can face around level 12 iirc. (If you 100% the game, you will easily reach low 20s in level) Most don't have much related lore - though they are all different in how they look and the attacks they can use. There is one cool quest line in one of the zones with an npc who studies dragons that will give a bit more lore and history (though admittedly, still not much), and this npc will come work and research dragons for you later if you do everything related to him and kill enough of the world dragons.

There are only two dragons really related to the main story - one controlled by the main enemy, which you have to figure out how to defeat, and another that will end up on your side, though how will be a matter of what choices you make. This does not happen until nearly the final quest however.

Tbh, for the title of the game, there isn't a ton of focus on dragons, it is actually named for the time period the game takes place in: the age of the dragon. They ARE in the world, and you fight at least a few in each game (The main boss in origins the first game is a demon shaped like a dragon)

All that aside, the thing that *I* love about dragon age, is how involved you get in absolutely every part of the story. I have replayed the game half a dozen times and learned new things about the world and characters each time. There are cut scenes like any RPG, but you are prompted for your thoughts and responses all the time which can make small changes, such as how much your companions respect you, to big ones, such as the fate of prisoners and who ends up leading a nation.

So while I can't definitively say DA > Witcher, because witcher looks awesome and I want to play it myself, I absolutely love dragon age and it's very well executed characters and replay-ability. If you like a bit of roleplay in your stories, you will love it. If you don't, you still might be interested in the story as it stands itself. It is definitely a game that is what you make of it!

thank you. My friend who is a Witcher fanatic says that if you want to truly understand the series there are also some books set before games. he also said that if you want it on your computer you will need 20 gigs of space but judging from the soundtrack it seems worth it (plus 200 hours of game play)

Dragon Age seems really fun and i would like to play it sometime. i might buy it next weekend after exams are over. Wish me luck.

A big hello to everyone here!

I'm Tom, 20, and I'm very friendly so please come talk to me! smile
Add,PM, whatever you want!

I'm very much into learning about things- mainly mysteries. I like to research natural phenomenon and am very much a fan of outer space and how small we all are compared to the grand scheme of things! It blows my mind!

So yeah, hoping to be friends with you all and have a very nice day!

the best way to learn about dragons in general is to read the books in the dragonology series. these can provide a sort of template for any dragons in any world. the next step to finding out more about dragons in a game or book is to find the differences. this can be anything from anatomy, diet or behaviour. it is also useful (and fun) to research any history or myths surrounding the dragons in the game/book. these steps can be helpful if you want to learn the weaknesses of any dragons in a game or if you want to understand them for any reason (even fun).

Dyatlov Pass is one of my favorite mysteries of all time! Mainly because there are so many theories as to what happened! (Aliens, Gov testing, etc.) I don't think we'll ever find out what happened to those hikers but I'm okay with that, since the mystery is all of the fun!

I do love to ponder existence itself, like many times I will think to myself if everything I experience is just in my mind, and what would happen if my mind was woken up to a point where I can perceive just about anything I wanted? Like space travel. They say that's a possible explanation as to how cosmic beings travel- it's all in the mind and they make the impossible possible by tapping into a dimension that we as fleshpeople can't possibly comprehend.

Most people will say it's crazy and impossible to enter into 5th, 6th, and even greater dimensions. But that's only because we've only ever experienced the 3rd dimension our whole lives. It's like trying to explain to a dog what the internet is. It's just not possible since it's incapable of fathoming it!
