User Image"I will be married to Tsukiko-san in the winter," it was spring, that was two seasons away. Another reason his mother was a bit angry with him," and after that I do not know, Tsukiko-san was talking of making a shop for dolls. He's very good at making them..." the blonde's thought's drifted off to the rows and rows of dolls with a sigh. He still knew nothing of dolls," and I do not know if I'll have time to, to be honest lord. I am still unsure what a first husband is suppose to do..." He quickly wondered what it was the haka wanted from his skills. He had at least till winter, he'd be willing to do any carving up until then.

"Mm." Reizo leaned back, crossing his arms over his chest. "I'd imagine that one attends to one's husband, keeps his other husbands - when they are aquired - in line...attend social functions, looks after the shop..." Shrug. After a moment he decided to explain himself. "You are quite good at carving." The little wooden figure was clutched in one hand. "My family and I run the large gallery in town, and I am always looking for new carvers for the wood blocks needed for printing."

User ImageTaini's eyebrows raised slightly, but he nodded as the other spoke. Well, he would do those things if needed. He looked thoughtful for a moment before speaking.
" Thank you sir. I rarely have much to do except cleaning the shop, I'm sure my mother would prefer me out of the house. If you wish, I can work on what you wish. As long as Tsukiko and my mother agree," he wasn't doing anything without either approval....well more so Tsukiko than his mother, because the man really got on the blonde's nerves. "But only if you wish lord."

Capek rubbed the side of his nose thoughtfully, peering out across the sea of garden plants and pathways. From where he stood on a slight rise in the terrain, he could spy more than a few Hanze. Some of them walked in pairs or clusters, others alone. If there was a haka, it was likely there was a gehaka trailing somewhere behind it, bearing an umbrella against the heat or offering a cup of water or a tin of sweet candies as a respite from the weather. Generally speaking, it was a nice day - made moreso by the fact that Capek had a whole day of.

It was rare that his mother let either his brother of himself away from the ceramics shop for very long, much less an entire day. Capek was almost giddy with excitement, and at the same time utterly at a loss as to what to do with himself. So he'd come to the public gardens for a bit of a walk, and to make an attempt at enjoying the atmosphere of summer he so scarcely got to linger it. His days were usually spent in storefront of the shop, or the heat of the back courtyard where the kiln and the fires resided. Being out here in the sunlight, with a light breeze to boot, was incredibly relaxing.

Yawning slightly, the chesnut haired gehaka stretched and expanded his wings momentarily, giving himself a shake like an old dog trying to rouse itself from a nap. Mmm, it felt nice to be a little lazy.

User ImageKimeru hurriedly walked alone down the pathway, every now and then looking behind him to see if he had successfully shaken off the Gehaka his Mother had sent to watch over him. He didn't like them to begin with, and their company was the last thing on his mind that he wanted. To be more exact in that aspect, Kimeru was in a state of mind that he hated Gehaka today.

"Finally, I lost the-"

He couldn't finish as he toppled forward, aware of a sudden snapping sound at his left foot. The string to one of his zoris had given away, having most likely come loose during his up and down escape from his 'guards'. To anyone else it would merely seem that a young and naive Haka simply tripped over his over feet and should be laughed at, and to Kimeru that's how he felt they should take it. He wouldn't mind for now and he didn't really, until he noticed the string was completely snapped. He couldn't re-tie it and hope for the best. He'd have to replace it.

"...This isn't good."

Content to sit on one of the garden walls and peer out across the cultivated, small little valley filled with carefully grown plants and trees, it was no wonder that Capek caught sight of the haka stumble and trip over - seemingly - his own feet a path a mere one level below his own current place of residence. Despite himself, he bit back a slight laugh, chewing the inside of his cheek painfully in order to keep it from breathing between his teeth.

Slowly, the gehaka came to the realization that perhaps the pale skinned (weren't they all?) Hanze had probably tripped for a good reason. Even from this distance - which in all honestly, was only a few yards - he could faintly percieve what looked like a broken zori string. The suspicion was confirmed when the young haka paused to examine his shoe, and Capek felt compelled to feel slightly sorrow for nearly laughing at the poor innocent man.

Compressing his lips into a thin line, features drawn, Capek watched the other thoughtfully for a moment longer before leaning out over the wall and calling out. "Good afternoon, haka-sama; do you need help, sir?" Not exactly the most formal greeting, but Capek wasn't in the mood to scramble all the way down there, bow, and then bother asking the other Hanze.

"Gak!"

Kimeru let out a rather unHaka-like squeak of surprise and dropped his shoe, his shoulders arched up with the shock of being startled. He turned, eyes moist from nearly bursting into tears, and looked towards the person who was now addressing him. All color drained from his face to see it was a Gehaka, but a little bit of it returned when his mind registered that it was someone he didn't know.

"Ah, you see...yes and no. I've been in worse spots then this, I'm pretty sure."

He moved to stand up, as he'd been sitting down on the ground from his trip over his shoe. He hadn't bothered to get up even after he examined the cause of the fall, but now he was pushing to his feet...and noticed the hem of his kimono had been torn a little.

"I've lost plenty of shoes and broken them to be sure, but ripping my kimono is another thing. My Mother's going to be furious at me for this, even more so when he finds out I did it while running away..."

He let out a small, nervous laughter that rang like bells but also sounded like someone crying.

Smiling faintly, Capek couldn't help but feel himself warm a little toward the haka. The Hanze reminded him shockingly of his own brother, and while Raka was a gehaka he was also the most haka-like gehaka Capek had ever met. The dogged determination to be more than a failure and to not cry was, in some way, mirrored to the tanned gehaka in this stranger. --Not that he was insinuating this haka was a failure or anything, but for a gehaka to be inept and with a tendency to cry... It was a little sad. Like a whimpering puppy that still tried run along the street with the other dogs.

Smiling faintly, Capek clambered over the garden wall and traversed down the slight incline covered in flowers until he skittered out on the path below. Now that he was down on the haka's level, he offered a slight bow to the other Hanze before drawing closer to examine the shoe and the rip in the kimono. "Aah, running away, are you? Not from anyone dangerous, I hope? Unless it's your mother that's the dangerous one, in which case I can understand your sentiment." He smiled broadly, glancing briefly to the other's face before dropping his eye again.

"Ah, I forget myself. My name is Sato Capek, haka-sama. It is a pleasure to meet you. If you'd like, I'd be happy to escort you to my mother's shop. It's a few blocks down, if you can manage with your shoe like that, but we've got a sewing kit there and I'm fairly handy with a needle if you'd like me to repair that tear. I might be able to replace that string there too, but...no promises."

"My name's Maruyama Kimeru, and there's really no need to address me as -sama or -san or anything else remotely formal. It's a waste on your part, considering I'm not in any state of ranks, nor do I merit anything from having a trade-family. I guess you could say I'm one of those Hakas who has to marry a Gehaka to get status, instead of the other way around."

Kimeru wasn't ashamed that he was talking so freely, and he wasn't ashamed that he had let a stranger know his lot in life. He dusted himself off and ruffled his ears, letting his teal hair run through his fingers and about his face.

"And if you're wondering why I was running, it's because my Mother sent several people to watch me and limit my daily activities. It seems my mere presense outside the house without anyone is enough to peel the paint off the walls with how much shame it causes. And I may have to take you up on your offer, though I know even that will make somenoe's life a bit worse."

Well, he'd certainly never met anyone quite so...upfront...as this haka. It was a bit of a surprise, really. Most of the ones that came into his mother's shop never spoke to him unless absolutely necessary, much less told him anything about themselves. The concept of knowing a haka remotely well was completely foreign to the young haka. He was quite used to questions being asked or demanded of him every now and then - that much, he supposed, is what came from being the son of a somewhat successful mother with a solid business behind the family. Capek liked to think that it might be because he was attractive in this way or that to one haka or another, but... - well, he didn't exactly have bracers on his forearms to show for it, now did he? Not that he particularly cared; being maried, more likely than not, just meant work of a different trade or fashion. He didn't exactly view it as a life shattering, nor altering experience.

"If you like," he said, stooping slightly to remove his own shoe. "You can use mine between here and there. It's...a bit big, I'm sure, but better than nothing and I have a feeling I'm far more used to walking about barefoot." He grinned, the expression slightly lopsided. It was true. In most cases, Capek preferred going about barefoot; it was just easier, but today something had possessed him to actually take out footwear. One never knew what sort of sharp pointy objects one might find on the road, right?

At the comment about the shoe Kimeru gave a rather sly smile, one that made his features look like he was a small fox that was feeling rather sneaky.

"Hehe, there's no need to take your shoes off for me. Breaking shoes and having to run barefoot is fairly common for me as well, so I'm sure the toughness of my feet runs pretty close to yours."

He placed his right index finger over his mouth in the typical 'hush' position, his eyes bright. He liked this Capek person, and at least if he was with him the Gehaka his Mother called to follow him might disappear or at least get a wrong or different idea.

"Just feel free to lead the way to your Mother's shop. I'll do my best not to be an issue to you or the rest of your family. I'll also find a way to repay your kindness as it would seem rude of me to just come in and ask for help, regardless of how unHaka I must seem. I wonder if I'm really just a Gehaka who was born without wings and was easily mistaken..."

Blinking, Capek glanced up to the marginally older - he must be, by the looks of it. Then again, such things were difficult to tell - haka. After a moment, the chestnut haired gehaka shrugged and slid his shoe back on. "Suit yourself," he murmured, straightening.

For a brief moment, he paused to observe the bright haired male, one eyebrow quirked in an unconscious fashion. "You know, Maruyama-san, you remind me of my brother." Old habits, apparently, were hard to break. Shrugging and shaking his head, Capek turned and led the way back up the incline and over the garden wall. So much for propriety. The garden's entrance was just a few meters away, and in no time at all Capek was leading Kimeru along at a decent pace toward his mother's shop. Perhaps it was a good thing it was off the main strip of shops and, therefore, one of the busiest at that time of day. Instead, Capek led the way along narrower side streets until, finally, they reached a small but impressive looking shop, real glass front windows and a tasteful display of dishes, ceramic dolls, and various other ceramic-based goods.

"Mother's ambitious," Capek explained dismissively as he slid off his shoes and stepped inside the shop.

User Image Amikai was unused to having the evenings off. The very idea of a work day that only lasted into the late afternoon was so foreign that he often found he didn't know what to do with himself. The same went for the mornings. He had a feeling he was still showing up far too early for Tensa's tastes (he often had to wait ont the front step until the haka realized he was there and opened up shop), but he just didn't have anything else to do but work. He'd done manual labor, sunrise to sunset, his entire life and suddenly finding all this free time on his hands...

It was a little disorienting.

So he'd taken to wandering the public gardens in the evenings just as the sun started to go down and the sky turned to oranges and pinks and the light went dusky and a little grey. And that was why Amikai currently found himself meandering about the rows of planted flowers and trees, sandals clicking hollowly on the stones of the pathway.

User ImageDonalbain spent most of his days in the gardens. His white hair gleaming in the oranges and pinks, seeming to soak up what colour lay around him in the flowers and the sky. His violet Kimono lay hanging off his shoulders, showing a bit of his chest and his flawless shoulders. His hair was down, cascading around him in carresses that flowed like silk in the gentle winds.

He was sad, very sad indeed. His face showed that, the frown that pursed his full lips so thin, the tears behind his green eyes that never shed, his ears were lowered as well. He let a sigh escape his lips as he picked random flowers and fitted them into a crown.

"What am I doing?" he asked himself. "He's gone... I need to get over it." He nodded and swiped at his face, removing those unshed tears. Still, it was so hard.

His ears pickd up to clicking on the stones and he blinked and turned around, setting his kimono straight. He watched the Gehaka curiously. Why was he out so late in the evening?
