Can we please have the ability to "Sticky" threads in our "My Topics" section? Since we can't delete the threads, we need a way to find ones we still use easily. Or maybe let us choose to hide certain topics? The way it is now, I am reluctant to ever post a new thread because it will spam up my "My Topics" page and push threads off to other pages.
We'll add it to the list of features requests, but it won't be a high priority update.

So while digging around for something, I found this old thread about various features. While it does look like Gaia implemented a couple of them, one that never happened was the Art/Writing/Whatever Directory. This is definately something that I still have an interest in seeing. It would be great to just look at a page of shops and instantly get an idea of the artist's style.
Anyways, could it be possible to see this old project be brought back to the table?
This is something we could look into doing!

Could Gaia add more meaning to the tip system in forums/guilds by giving gaians the option to include a reaction or tiny message with their tips?
People tip posts for various reasons beyond just saying I like/agree with your post. I have a tendency to tip to tell people I read their post and I intend on replying later or to say thank you or I got you. It would be nice if tips came with either a special emote or a pre-written message that could communicate something to the recipient with minimum effort which would be immensely helpful for mobile users like myself who have a hard time making quick forum responses.
I see, I'll see what I can do to make a tipping history page.
Is there a possibility of more forum assistants and/or moderators being brought on? I reported a handful of threads a few days ago and they are still in the same spot. I know the amount of content that is reported on this site on a daily basis has to be staggering, but allowing this to go unchecked like it has for so long is becoming really annoying. I appreciate the hard work that the current team of forum assistants and moderators do and I'm sure they wouldn't mind the extra help. Thanks and have a great day.
Yup! We're in the process of looking into new Forum Assistants!

Misc: Moderators
I know that it's kind of on the back burner, but can we add a higher priority into hiring and training more moderators? There are people who have applications in, but no new ones have been hired in a while. This should be a higher priority because you're current mods are stretched so thin that it's starting to become difficult for them to handle everything that they need to do around the site.
This is not the fault of the mods themselves, this is the lack of mods in general.

We're wrapping up a mod training round now, then we'll be looking to bring on more moderators after that point. So sometime early next year (may mid to late January) we'll be sending out new acceptances/rejections. No promises on that exact time table, but we're committed to bringing on more moderators.
Can the character limit on signatures be increased please? Not the size dimensions, just the character limit, because I couldn't even add color to the words in my Christmas-themed signature I also don't want to rely on tinyurl.com to make all my links shorter because I want people to be able to preview the links when they hover over them and see that the links lead to legit places. Alternatively, can coding not count towards the character limit please?
We actually have some plans for signature sizes, keep an eye out!

Features: Runway
I know that asking for Runway votes outside if the Chatterbox subforum has been made against the rules. Would it be possible to make it against the rules to ask in Chatterbox or ask your friends for votes?
It seems that runway is becoming more and more a popularity contest of the user and not the entry being voted for.
You know, I can't recall why we made the rule that you can ask for votes in Chatterbox when the intention is you vote on the avatar, not the person. We'll confer with the team and adjust if necessary.
because it's chatterbox.
the bigger worry isn't people asking others to vote, it's bots. when even the most offtopic avis have hundreds of votes, you know you have a votebot issue.
Well the intent behind Runway is that you vote on the avatar and not the person, so having a rule that says, "You can't solicit votes. You can solicit votes in this one area." seems nonsensical. There is a reason why we implemented the rule the way that we did, and the admin team ultimately approved it, but I can't recall that reason outside of potentially, "They can solicit votes, it doesn't necessarily mean that someone will vote for them."
In either case, it's something we'll review along with the rest of Runway. I know we haven't been able to show it much support so we'll try to do better with that to make things more fair for everyone.

Question: I know this doesn't matter to most people, but within the My Little Pony Forums art is not allowed. But within the MLP fandom art is a huge piece of it, sharing your art of ponies, your OCs, making "adoptable thread" where you use a base and color requests, selling, making freebies, showing your art of the canon characters. Ever since art threads were discontinued the forum has nearly dried up. And within the mini shops forum MLP shops get pushed to the next page in no time flat. Is it possible to remove these two rules? Or revamp them to advise no selling of art? But art trades, freebie threads, art show off threads are allowed?
The year I had quit Gaia, I came back because of this forum's creation. "Picture post threads, such things can be posted in The Official Pony Image/Video Thread thread." "Buying/selling/requesting/creating art threads. Any threads created after September 5, 2012 that revolve around the exchange or transfer of art created by users should be made in the Art Shops (and its various subforums) subforum within the Mini Shops forum."
Thanks for reading.
A lot of the time when we create these rules that seem a bit strange consider what the fanbase does it is because we find that the community gets overrun and other members in the community can't share or talk about anything else, it gets flooded. So we create these rules to move threads to forums that already have an established purpose. That being said, we can review the rules and see what changes can or if they should be made.

Text boxes. In PM's, Quick Reply Threads & Guilds, Post a Reply Guilds, and Journals you can both extend and widen the text boxes. In threads? Only extend. I asked about it once before and the reply I got was "if enough people ask about it we'll consider it" but, why are threads the only one who can't extend and widen? It would be really helpful to someone who only spends their times in the threads on Gaia.
Text box extend is on the todo list, we just have quite a bit of issues to fix before getting to the to do list unfortunately

Interesting note, Gaidin made this when he was a regular user, he just happens to be a mod now. So really any updates would have to be asked of him as he's the OP.
When you go to reply to it, the page says: "Sorry, this thread is now old and decrepit. Please find a newer thread about this topic or create your own to continue discussing!"
Oh! That! Sure, lemme see if we can get it bumped.

Can we get a way to lock our own threads that we make? So that no one except us could post in it? If not all thread, just test threads or something? Preferably all threads. It just sucks when you have a shop, or role play, or quest, or whatever that you are setting up and people decide to keep posting. Or say you have a shop, and you want things to calm down, and for however long you choose, you can lock your thread. Even if you say "closed" people would still try to order from you. Or if you have a test thread that you don't want others posting in. Yes, you can always delete posts, but once you do that is one less post on that page you can use. If you needed the 15 posts, it totally ruins the flow.
Slight Edit: If you do consider this, it shouldn't cost anything. It should be like polls, disabled voting or rolling dice. Something free you can do to your thread.
It's something that we could potentially consider for something like the test forum.

Features/Forums/ AMC Forum Rules
Hi Gaia Staff,
A few weeks ago, I made a thread in the Site Feedback about updating the Anime/Manga/Comics forum’s rules for posting a thread. Seeing as how it is so easy to get a thread binned in that forum, I was wondering if the rules in it could be changed in the futre?
For example, here are the current questions you cannot post about in a thread or else it will get binned:
- "Has anyone seen/read ?" - "Does anyone like ?" - "What do you think of ?" - "I love/hate " - "Does anyone remember ?" - "Is anyone watching/reading ?" - "What show/character is this?" - "What show is from?" - "Recommend me an anime" - similar one line response topics
Now seeing as anime is a niche market now and is not as popular as it once was, I think the forum rules post guildlines should be more like this… If you post a thread in the AMC, these topics must be covered:
- I like ‘X anime’ - Why you like ‘X anime’ - Explain more about why you like ‘X anime’ - Added optional fluff like asking what everyone’s favorite characters of ‘X anime’ is, comments about its mangaka, DVD/Blue Ray releases of series, etc.
The old rules as they are absolutely dreadful when one wants to discuss an anime and the only thing you can ask the forumsa’s audience is if they like the anime you want to talk about which is breaking the current forums rules. In other words, it is almost impossible to make a discussion topic about any old anime. The forum is THAT SLOW.
Can you please update the AMC’s forum rules in the near future? It will really help getting thing up to speed in that forum again.
Thank you! emotion_bigheart
I agree that the rules for A/M/C are pretty outdated given the speed of the forum now and am totally in favor of having new rules/stickies/etc. That goes in general for the rest of the site where we need to review forum rules, but A/M/C has a special bias in my heart because it was my home forum as a user and home forum as a mod.

ITEMS
Hey there! There are alot of user recolor items that are ridiculously expensive, and I know the rules state that the recolored items can be released in the CS at any time.
I was wondering if we can make a new sticky forum or something to suggest items for re-release in the CS?
The only one we have so far is for Rococo, and many of my item suggestions don't go through because they are user-made items. I know that many people want certain ones, for example Bats a Lash, etc.
I think this would be a great idea to implement and would help out many users 3nodding
Please let me know what you think heart
There is also this thread that just blankets the topic "items you want to be re-released"
Hope this interests you!

Features/Gaia Forums/Anime/Manga/Comics Forum
This question is directed toward Zero Omega, but also to any Gaia staff member who can answer it.
From my last question on last week's ATS to Zero Omega, which he responded to, he said that the Anime/Manga/Comic forum's sticky rules needs updating along with other Gaia forums' sticky rules as well which I highly agree with.
I was wondering when the Gaia Staff was going to get around to doing this? Is there a specific date you guys are aiming for or is it a future project you guys would like to tackle at some point?
Would love to know! Thank you! emotion_kirakira
It would definitely be a future project that I'd like to have done sometime this year. Right now our focus is building up the moderator team, building up other members of the moderator team (such as our Global moderators), and working through our ticket backlog, ticket submission flow, and Help Center updates to make that process a lot more stream lined.

Awhile back, you stated a review of the My Little Pony forum would be made to see if it could allow art again, please look into this consideration. As, the My Little Pony fandom is primarily artists, wanting to share their art, OCs, fanart, trade/sell art.
These threads get lost in the art forums.
Also please consider updating the description away from Friendship is Magic, as Friendship is magic is only the most recent installment of MLP, this fandom dates back to the 80s.
