Luxara was slowly teaching herself how to recognize rebel bases. Beyond flags, if there were any, of course. This new building she was sneaking by...definitely rebels. Definitely. But nowhere near as defended as the lighthouse!
But she was torn. While she wouldn't get yelled at if she took it down...
She thought about Gan. And hesitated.
She noted the coordinates anyways, if it came down to the wire, but...she was tired of bombing and BEING bombed.

Hearing that Luxara had found a new rebel base, at a beach resort of all things, Etsali realized they had another chance here. If they worked together, they could definitely take it for themselves! It only took a bit of running to get there, and then she was hurling dynamite at the base.

      Forera couldn't throw bombs for s**t. Especially when it came to going against the rebels... her supposed friends. She just felt like she couldn't fight... was she on the wrong team...?

Vulpin received a signal from his team to arrive at this s**t shack of a resort. Once again, they should have called him earlier to clear up this s**t. Well, he was here now, and ready to ******** some s**t up. Big time.

He took out one of the bombs he... borrowed from demolitions training. Sly barked at the round object, jumping playfully at his charge to convince him to play. "NO." Vulpin responded. "NO FETCH. BAD." Sly stared at him dumbly but stopped egging Vulpin on so much. Vulpin fiddled with the device to activate it, cursing under his breath that he couldn't work it fast enough.

He managed to figure it out, and tossed the bomb towards the base. Sly chased it, and Vulpin went screaming after him. The two were lucky that Vulpin had a fairly strong throw.

Luxara wasn't happy about having to throw bombs again. It was just so...aggressive. What if there were trolls in there? What if one got too close and they went DEAF? Fortune favored the brave, but...casualties.
She sighed a little while trying to keep a smile on her face, but-
Oh what.
What the hell was this.
Were they getting new troops now? NOT ON HER WATCH. Luxara turned on her radio, calling for aid. "WE NEED SOME HELP OVER HERE, FRIENDS." GO GO GO.

All of his teammates were screaming in his ear. "GO, NOW, HURRY UUUUP!!" Vulpin juggled another bomb in his hands, and he struggled to assemble it. He got angry and just tossed the thing at the base. It was a dud, but it hit at just the right angle to knock out some support beam, sending the whole base crashing down. Hah, he had totally planned that.

      Building was really making Forera feel better. Even though she felt like she couldn't trust anyone... Anyone but Luxara.

      Then again, her team seemed pretty fluid...

The space was...theirs! The rebels were really putting up a fight. Between this and the barge...were these places more important than she thought? Later Luxara would have to check out the resort itself to find out. She'd be pretty disappointed if there was all this fuss for nothing, but... This whole fight was pretty dumb.
So who even knew anymore.

After Forera put their brand new shiny base up, Luxara hopped over to help make it as strong as possible. "We've been kicking so much butt lately, guys!" she exclaimed while carrying over pieces of the old base to use on the new one. "That captain lady can't yell at us now! Haha! Tunnel snakes RULE!"
Had to keep the morale up! Hopefully that would help a bit. Go team!

      Luxara's words didn't make her feel better.

      They made her feel worse.

      Why was she here? She was just ******** everything up for her friends. What if... What if that kid from Wacky was there. Kursha, or something. What if he was there too? Or Dariah? Alifax... No, no, Alifax was too much of a tightass to be a rebel. but still, the point stood-- what if more of her friends, her important, treasured friends... what if they were there? Fighting against her? Normally she wouldn't care, but this was actually dealing with serious things. Like, killing and dying and stuff. She'd escaped death twice, but... her friends... never had to.

      What if the time came that she had to go against them face to face?

      She... she couldn't...

      Forera needed to be alone. She took her stuff and left without a word, expression blank and unreadable, feeling on the brink of crying as she set to work on the Abandoned Barge.

Vulpin kept building on his terrible beach base. He was pretty sure that it was better than the other bases on the coast, though. That reminded him, how was his base at the barge? After that encounter with the weird fat seagull, he wasn't really sure how it was holding up. He knew Forera was there now, and she probably needed a hand if that seagull came back. Heck, he laughed to himself, she probably needs my help regardless!

After a lovely walk on the beach and an awkward swim on Sly's back, he made it back to the abandoned barge. It was impressively fortified compared to how he left it, though he'd never admit it. He climbed up the side of the barge and took a look around on deck. He found Forera working hard, but on the brink of exhaustion. "Hey," He said smugly, "Don't you think you should take a break or something?"

He shuffled over and looked closer at her face. Her eyes were swollen and tired-looking. Now Vulpin was really concerned. He did a double take to see if anyone else was on the boat. "Did something happen here? What the hell happened to you?" He asked Forera. He was curious what had gotten into her head to make her this way. Maybe he could use it to his advantage later?

      The thought of taking a second to calm down was out of the question for Forera. She wasn't letting herself go weak because of her thoughts-- no, she had to keep working, keep her mind off of sad things like that. For as long as she could...

      Until some jerk decided to appear. As she finished constructing the base, Forera looked over to Vulpin, eyes narrowed. She looked him over and let out a small huff-- "Only wimps like you take breaks." She stated, nose wrinkling into a frown as she looked to the ground. When he walked closer, Forera ignored him, and his words only made her feel worse. Damn it, she wasn't fooling anyone... "It's none of ya business, Vulpin. Go play with some dead bodies or something."

Etsali let out another delighted laugh as Luxara cheered them on, proud they'd actually managed to fend off the rebels. Maybe they were getting kind of good at this! "Yeah! Tunnel Snakes rule! Hey, do you guys think we can-" She paused before the thought was fully out, because as she'd whirled to face the others as well, she'd realized Forera was leaving. Belatedly it occurred to her that she hadn't heard the troll cheering along with them, though she'd have thought she'd be happy too. Was she mad that Vulpin had gotten in the last hit? That didn't seem right either, though.

Frowning as the other orangeblood set out in the same direction as well, though at least he seemed in a good mood, Etsali settled into the realization that she was missing something again. She didn't like it, not one bit. Missing too many things could be dangerous, that was why Keeper was always telling her to watch her surroundings. But obviously she hadn't been paying enough attention now that she was on a team. She'd have to fix that. Her eyes cut back to the one teammate that hadn't left the Resort without explanation, considering, and then she smiled.

"Do you suppose they got tired of the beach? That was pretty sudden!"

It's a new day! This evening, everything is quiet in anticipation. The rebels gave a strong push, but the royalists are beginning to retake control. Tonight will be the deciding factor for the Battle of Old Hemisect.


Today's Happenstance:
Actions taken today will result in double points.

Each troll is refreshed and ready to go with 3 available actions.

REMINDER: Today is the last official day of the territory game. Come Monday's refresh, the mechanics of the game will cease as the scores are tallied, the threads are reviewed, and we prepare for the final phase of the meta. You will still be welcome to RP in the team threads, but please plan your actions accordingly!


Refreshers:
POSSIBLE ACTIONS ARE:

Build: Roll 1D6 to build on a coordinate that you have unlocked – the roll result determines the durability of the base. You can also build on friendly bases to add durability, up to a maximum of 30 durability. You cannot build on a coordinate that already has an enemy base on it.
Trolls with training in Construction get a bonus to their roll:
Apprentice: Roll 2D6 Journeytroll: Roll 3D6 Master: Roll 4D6 Grandmaster: Roll 5D6

Rally: Roll 1D6 to organize defenders, which can be assigned to any coordinate you have unlocked. The roll result determines the amount of defenders you have rallied. Defenders will be on stand-by until you mobilize them. Defenders are the second level of defense that can be assigned to protect a base. You must use defenders to take out defenders if you want to demolish an enemy base!
Trolls with training in Recruiting get a bonus to their roll:
Apprentice: Roll 2D6 Journeytroll: Roll 3D6 Master: Roll 4D6 Grandmaster: Roll 5D6

Demolish:
Roll 1D6 to destroy a base on a coordinate that you have unlocked – the roll result determines the amount of damage done to the durability of the base. At 0 durability, the base is destroyed. You cannot demolish a base with defenders assigned to it.
Trolls with training in Demolition get a bonus to their roll:
Apprentice: Roll 2D6 Journeytroll: Roll 3D6 Master: Roll 4D6 Grandmaster: Roll 5D6

Intelligence: Roll a new coordinate (2D6). If you roll a coordinate you have already unlocked, the roll is wasted.
Trolls with training in Intelligence get a bonus to their rolls:
Apprentice: Roll 2 new coordinates (4D6)
Journeytroll: Roll 2 new coordinates (4D6); if at least 1 of the coordinates is not unique, re-roll. Each re-roll will increase in numbers by 2D6. So, if you don't find a coordinate on your first 2D6 roll, roll 2D6 again. If there are no unique numbers, roll 4D6. Then 6D6, etc. The FIRST unique coordinate unlocked will be considered the new coordinate. So: Bobbie rolled 4D6 and got 2,2, 5,5 and both sets of coordinates are unique. She ONLY unlocks [2,2].
Master: Journeytroll effect OR select one new coordinate from another team and unlock it. You must post with roleplay in your own thread and the other team’s thread for this to take effect.
Grandmaster: Journeytroll effect OR Master effect OR… Roll 1 coordinate (2D6). If your allies control the coordinate rolled: add 5 durability and 5 defenders to that coordinate (may surpass the maximum durability/defender limit by 5). If your opponents control the coordinate rolled: it loses 5 durability and 5 recruits (does not apply if the numbers would decrease past 0). You additionally unlock the coordinate.


Mobilize: Choose one of two options:
1. Send defenders from your stand-by or a friendly-base you control to any friendly-base on a coordinate that you have unlocked.
2. Assault an enemy-controlled coordinate that you have unlocked using defenders from a friendly base. Defenders must be deployed to a base before they can assault an enemy base and cannot attack directly from your standby.

POST IN THE WAR ROOM THREAD IF:

You build a new base on a coordinate
You reinforce a friendly base
You assign defenders to a base
You assault a base
You do damage to a base
You destroy a base
You use the Grandmaster Intelligence perk to affect a base

Luxara's smile cracked a little when Forera started to leave. She tried so, so hard not to frown, but it was so hard to keep that empathy at bay. Both of them had been rather deflated ever since what had happened at the mall... Having no idea that she had killed the mood further, Luxara contemplated following after Rera but Vulpin ran after her first. Well, if he wanted to get socked...
Maybe she should go, too, just to keep her buddy from getting into a fight with Vul-

Luxara blinked at Etsali, taking a second to hear her words. "O-oh." She smiled sheepishly. "Maybe that's part of it, but... I dunno. I think I know what's upsetting For. We've both been having it hard since I saw a friend of ours on the rebel team, and-"

Chatter over the radio told Luxara that the mall was the rebels' again. Did Gan's team swoop in and take it back? He might've... She looked at her walkie talking, conflicted. The royalists were calling for aid to take it down. If someone was in there... But she couldn't just sit and twiddle her thumbs...
Luxara sighed, hoping beyond hope that no one was there.
"This is Luxara, calling in a demo team for the mall. You guys help take that out, but if there's anyone there DON'T hurt them, you understand me?"
As if the pipsqueak had any ability to carry a threat but...she could try.

They were throwing so much into this, and any other time Luxara would be there for the shake-down but...she just couldn't do it.
It was stupid, and she new it, but just being there would make things worse. Even if there weren't any rebels actually THERE, she'd...still remember.
War is hell. And all she wanted to do was either go home and curl up in the safety of her tree for a bit, or find Gan.
Neither of which were going to happen, though, at least not yet.
Leaning back on Stagdad, she took long calming breaths.

Between this new fight for a base, Forera slinking off without a word, Vulpin and his big stupid mouth going after her, and Etsali watching her, it was tough. She didn't know what to do outside of follow orders, at this point.
Just don't cry again, just don't cry again...
