Activity: Recruitment (5) Construction (23)
Though Ephias was proud of the work he had accomplished on previous days with Keionx's help, he was still sore. Maybe it was time to take a break and change things up. Wolly approved of that that idea and urged him to go into recruiting. He did not mention that he thought it was an exceptionally good idea because his charge had not slept in several days. With how tired the young troll looked, Wolly was not sure he trusted Ephias to pick up anything heavier than a compositionstick.
Ephias made his way around Old Hemisect, going door to door. He hated to solicit others like this, but he was too weary to even be annoyed about it. He kept his visits short and brief, which, for the potential recruits, was a welcome change from certain long-winded recruiters. His harrowed and grumpy face however was a little off-setting.
Using her spy skills on Tierte, it sorta just looked like she was gathering materials and doing her job with construction... She'd have to see if she was muttering anything to herself, as she was prone to do at times.
It occurred to her that she should use her impeccable interpersonal skills to get some trolls to the cause! After all, an energetic and creative young girl like herself was sure to appeal to trolls of all sorts~!
Keionx smiled, pleased, at her new friend's progress and waved him off on his way. She felt glad that she had given someone confidence. It wasn't as satisfying as beating up a monster, but defeating internal demonbeasts was still pretty awesome. She had slain a dragon of sorts, and all she'd had to do was lift a pipe.
Cool.
She set the last load of pipes on the frieghter and noticed that there was a building being destroyed. Speaking of monsters she thought, meandering over. If she beat that up, she could say that that was the physical manifestation of Ephias's frustration which she had defeated and...
And that made for a good story. And Keionx loved a good story, especially when it was about herself and involved a good solid fight and helping her fellow troll. And this had all of the above.
"That is fine," Tamiya interrupted. "I know you have been doing work on Intelligence. I see this because you have lots of charts with numbers. I would like to use your talents. Allow me to introduce you to my associate and spirit mate, who I met fatefully many ******** assblistering suns ago,"
She announced. Tamiya took his hand. WARM. Always warm! She began to pull him towards the exit of the base, out into the city. Where was he? He often skulked away from others, where his enormous lusus could fit (typically outdoors). He had been working intelligence as well. With the three of them, they'd be able to reach the thinkpans and bloodpushers of the city. And amass a large army to wipe out the rebels. Yessssss....
"Larque? Larque?" Tamiya squawked. She turned to Sinter and removed her vicegrip around his fingers. "b*****d goes by Larque. He is a green blood. What has Chittentown been like since the weather incident? I hear it still ******** blows. But I know that your quaint little hive looks as though the WACKY did not pass by. Father wants me to come back and visit sometime. Where is that nooklicker?"

Recruitment
Posters! Dictys eyed them gleefully as ey walked along Old Hemisect City, waving potential converts over as ey did. Ey felt a bit like a peddler, but ey didn't mind.
It was rather shocking, actually to see how many trolls seemed almost reluctant to enlist. The military was the only path to glory. Well, the only dependable one, anyway, and it was the only one that'd shoot them to the stars. Didn't they want to glitter?

Intelligence
He'd been told to find a partner this time - although he wasn't really sure how to identify one, really. After the past few days, he was all too aware that anyone could be a rebel - and that was a bad thing. He walked through the temporary base, ears open...but unlike the previous days, he didn't manage to hear a word of suspicious activity. Perhaps the rebels had cottoned on. He hoped not! He rather liked this.
Tamiya's assumptions about the greenblood's whereabouts had been spot on. After finishing his assignment for that day (the simple task of checking a couple blocks worth of old buildings for squatters), he had taken his rations and headed to the beach, where he could spend a bit of peaceful time with his lusus without worrying about her getting in the way. The base camp was such a loud, dizzying place, and he could already feel himself becoming homesick. The fact that he would probably never see his hive again compounded the painfulness of that fact, but as he sat perched atop his lusus' back, he tried to lull himself into a more peaceful set of mind by stuffing his face and gazing out over the ocean.
Even that peace wouldn't last. Upon hearing that familiar voice, he scarfed the rest of his food down and looked back. There she was, up the length of the beach and closer to one of the camp entries. He leapt down and slunk quietly across the sand.
"Over here." He called, and quickly closed the distance, his lusus lumbering up behind him. "Tamiya. Haven't seen you since yesterday, how are things going?" He greeted her in his usual serious way, though his eyes had drifted to Sinter more than once with intense curiosity. "Who is your friend?"
"...Spirit? Mate?" Sinter cocked his head to one side. He couldn't honestly say he was expecting an answer out of Tamiya on that one. Weird clowns and their weird system of socializing. At least Tamiya wasn't enough of a cliche to use the word "brother."
"GHHh-h-h-hh!" Sinter shuddered as his arm was clenched in an icy grip. It and the rest of him were summarily dragged out and along the base. If it had been anyone but Tamiya, Sinter would have protested the rough treatment, or at least in the case of another highblood, would have at least felt some degree of bitterness. However, Sinter, to his own surprise, trusted in Tamiya's good intentions.
Tamiya reinforced Sinter's assumptions by peppering him with awkwardly-delivered, but touchingly-earnest exposition and questions. Sinter struggled to keep up.
"Uh... Almost back to normal I guess. Still kind of damp, but construction crews are working on it..." More efficiently than they were going about things here, that was for sure.
Before Sinter could get further caught up in the chatter, Tamiya was making a beeline for a troll on the beach. Greenblood, like she'd said. Sinter felt himself relax a little. He couldn't quite be sure what kind of company Tamiya kept aside from himself (much less referred to as a "spirit mate"). However, seeing another troll clearly not cut from the typical highblood cloth, was soothing all the same.
The lusus wasn't soothing at all, though. Sinter hoped Lophie was buried somewhere nearby.
Sinter flicked his attention back to the greenblood when he realized he was being talked about. He looked over to Tamiya, who was the one technically being addressed, and then back to Larque. "Sinter Heilig," he replied with a stern nod of his head--offset somewhat by the jingling of bells. He'd let Tamiya expand on what kind of friends they were. Sinter didn't even know himself. ]

For some unfathomable reason, people were actually listening to Ephias. He mumbled, stuttered, avoided eye contact and in general was not that inspiring a speaker. Ordinarily this sort of behaviour would have warranted a door slammed in his face, so it was strange that people actually seemed interested.
Behind Ephias, Wolly made big bubbly eyes.

Larque studied the redblood carefully, intrigued by his noisy garb and pondering his relation to Tamiya. Was he just a friend she had made recently, or were they closer than that? Highbloods always had that tendency to gather as many lowblood underlings as possible, so Larque settled upon that assumption until he learned otherwise. Regardless of that, he was glad at least that the boy was a warm blood. Larque had been having a hard time making allies since his arrival at the base, too many new faces and out-of-towners, so many more highbloods than he was used to seeing, and he had to slog through their sector of the camp to even get to his own area. It was a pain, to say the least.
"Sinter. Good to meet you." He replied, and nodded similarly, appreciating the other's lack of nonsense, even though it was oddly juxtaposed with his jolly, jingling apparel. His eyes flicked to Tamiya and he shifted his feet in the sand.
Keionx was not usually the one late to the party when it came to destroying monsters. But, apparently, when it came to destroying buildings... she was.
She tapped the already destroyed heap of rubble with her construction-grade sledgehammer and took credit for it all anyway.
Vulpin built some more maquettes today. He built a little castle-like structure and he was proud of it. It was magnificent in miniature form, and it stood! He went ahead and built it at a larger scale in the camp.
It didn't hold long. Maybe he had to use more nails. Construction was a puzzle and a half, but Vulpin kind of thought it was fun to figure out. For now, Sly wanted to take a break. Vulpin obliged unenthusiastically.
This time, she decided she'd be a little more... lazy. All her strength was quickly being wasted on this, and not on finding new spots to nap in!! Forera grabbed the nearest lifting block thing and growled. She could totally handle more, duh, but just not today, or right now. She was too tired!
She looked at smaller area maps, asked around for how far someone could walk in a day, and made more notes (on approved kiddie construction paper of course) while she prepared to track her mystery troll down!
Luxara wondered if she'd be allowed to take some snacks from the available rations with her if it ended up being a long night. ...And maybe food from the mess hall might be a good lure for a hiding local? More notes! More plans! Yes!
