One thing one should remember about Luca is that she took kickboxing classes. She knew how to throw a bunch and block, and showed her stuff quite well. Heck, she had already been in basic fights with youma and dusted them handily. She was rocking the punches today, for sure! If it wouldn't be a really stupid thing to do, she could walk right out and take on a Negaverse agent right now! Yeah!
...Just so long as said agent wasn't a general. She wasn't going through that again.

Horatio scored an 11! (10 + 1 Teamwork)
Horatio had found the bestest hiding spot, and double bestest because it gave her a chance to rest. She watched the other cats and Anabel as best she could from behind the panel, her flagged tail twitching with anticipation. Would they find her? Would they?
She overheard Liryn say something about work but... well, they were playing a game now! Ha, if they wanted to make her give up bestest hidey hole they'd have to find her first!
If Kaatje had been among people she knew well, she would say, Alright ladies, that's enough, you're embarrassing yourselves. Except she wasn't. She was, to be frank, among people she had reasons (if not every reason) to doubt would get her sense of humor. So instead, she said, "Wrap it up! This is when we all transform so, cats, if you would be so kind as to start blocking signatures, I'll go first." With a whirl and an incantation of Gunn Eternal Power, Make Up! Kaatje van der Weydin disappeared in a pillar of fire that burned nothing at all; when the flames faded away, Eternal Sailor Gunn stood before the group, resplendent in orange and brown. She flicked her hood back and said, "There. Now you all know who I am."
She supposed it was a fair trade, a show of trust. Now any of them could not only hand her identity over to a Negaverser, they could point her out in either form. She smiled, and said, "Now you're going to spar. I trust none of you need instructions on how to do that? If you get hurt, snag Dr. Jacobs or Dr. Wellington--Oenone and Shangri-La, I believe?--and they'll help you out. Please don't kill each other. This isn't a real fight."
For this round, please roll 1 10-sided die! The partner with the higher score wins.
The wrap post will go up on May 22nd!
Cats, you are now aura blocking! smile So while you should roll a ten-sided die to determine who lands a Silv stick, I would like to announce a ~surprise gift~ of human form headshots for your character. If you have any references not in your journal, please drop me a PM!
You may continue to roll for the round immediately preceding the current one. So, no more warmup, wisdom, or intelligence round rolls! (This is to make records-keeping easier on me.) Thank you!
Lily gave a laugh, "don't worry about it Paris. It's sparring, it comes with risks. I know this. I spar often and a lot, so don't hold back, because I won't." Lily was Paris's friend and she certainly wasn't going to try to really hurt her, but she wouldn't hold back and it was a warning she gave a lot. She was happily face plant her friend if she thought Paris was holding out on her.
She powered up, standing now in her thigh high boots and adorned with musical notes that gave a clue to her musical sphere. She grinned a Paris, turned Ganymede and took a stance.
"Ready," she said giving a pointed look before going on the attack ready for what Paris threw at her. This would be fun and interesting, she did not often spar with other eternal's. Sparring was generally a teaching thing for her, learn how to defend yourself he with me before it really counts and your fighting for your life.

Horatio got lazy and rolled a 1!
For all her little prankster heart, Horatio couldn't very well ignore a duty as important as shielding her winners from harm. While she remained crouched in her new, favorite hidey hole, she began to direct her attention to covering up the energy signatures. She was confident that one of her furred friends or Anabel would find her eventually, but for now, she tried to contain her giggles and focus on masking.
Jeanne laughed lightly. "Nothin' quite like lookin' utterly ridiculous t' fuel feelin' all comfortable with each other," she said, calling up her pen and spinning it between her fingers. It was less a pen, now, more a wand, emblazoned with the heart-and-crossed-swords symbol of her planet.
When Gunn called for it, she held up her wand. "Penthesilea Asteroid Power, Make Up!" She declared, and the magic took hold - her transformation as glittery and elegant as any other, leaving her in the form of a Super Senshi.
"Come at me," she said, and there was no masking the grin on her face. While she obviously wasn't planning to kill Thraen, or even severely damage him, she also wasn't planning to hold back overmuch, either.
Elke was a little astonished to see the people who surrounded her, and when Paris became Ganymede she couldn't help but frown. She took out her henshin pen and a mumbled Virgo Zodiac Power, Make-Up, Elke Arma gave way to Soldier Virgo.
She was not pleased to see her partner was another of those who had advocated shattering heirlooms on the Surrounding. It wasn't that Virgo had had any want for the civilians to die; it was more that covering the mirrors had proven effective, until the Negaverse's Great Youma had intervened.
Sparring was… interesting. She had expected to have a hard time against an opponent about twice her size, but she was holding her own--and so was he, which wasn't exactly a surprise. But despite their collective poor performance in practice (or perhaps because of it) they matched blows easily, until Virgo finally broke through his guard and stopped her fist half an inch from his solar plexus. "I win," she said, and then she stepped back. "Thank you for the spar."

Nick had never transformed into Oenone alone before. But there had to be a first time for everything, he thought glumly, and he hefted his pen and transformed into Oenone.
His match against Sailor Phact was one that would not exactly go down in history, but it certainly went, and when it was over he crossed the room to Europa and hovered over her. "Hey, you look familiar," he teased, tugging the star-shaped clip out of her hair. And to her partner, a page in green and brown, he said, "Hello."
Liryn was quite happy to settle close to both Ash and Anabel as he focused on dampening the increasing numbers of auras as more and more people powered up into their powered alter-egos. For a brief moment he was distracted as he heard the name Athene spoken amongst the voices, remembering the name as the one that Tsui and Ida had told him, but it took concentration to cover up auras, even with Ash, Horatio and Snowball to help and so finding out if the senshi from the warehouse (and the one that he'd been searching for) was amongst the gathered senshi was something that was going to have to wait for another time.
For now it was work time and work time for Liryn meant being on energy masking detail, although if he was lucky then mayhaps he'd get a chance to try and spot the one who had called out the name Athene later.
The transformation of Kaatje into Eternal Sailor Gunn seemed to be the cue for the rest of them to transform and so Arian summoned his jade and bronze henshin pen to his hand before calling out "Athene Eternal, Make Up!" and hearing others around him, well at least the senshi amongst the attendees, call out their own henshin phrases.
It didn't take long for Arian to be replaced by Eternal Sailor Athene and powered up Athene could sense senshi and knight auras of varying strengths around him as civilian identities were swapped for powered forms. Once Alexis had powered up, Athene waited to see if she would take the first move, being one who personally preferred not to do so.
Although not the greatest fighter, Athene planned to give the practice spar his best shot and was hoping to do better than he had done in the previous exercise - make that the absolute failure he had made of said previous exercise.

[ Rolling for Thraen - 8 ]
Penthesilea's skill was plain, even if his speed and strength were greater. But so much of that was the point of actual martial training- it leveled playing fields in disparity of physical attributes to favor who had the training. He wasn't, ultimately, worried about getting wrecked. This wasn't about proving anything or pride- he was here to try to learn.
The principles of what she was doing was clear- hitting high-sensitive areas or making use of physics and leverage. It was so similar to the fight against the Negaverse lieutenant that Iris had interrupted. As a second view, it made it clearer to see the moves and know how they would work on him. He focused on trying block them more effectively, or mimic them, hoping it came across clear to her this was a lot more of a training spar than anything else from his end.
When it was done, she'd scored many more hits than he had, even if he'd been able to keep his feet more than expected. "That's a style...something specific isn't it? A martial art?"
Europa transformed quickly, with little fanfare other than a quick burst of darkness and bubbles. "Let's get down to business, eh?" she asked, and blushed. "Uh, sorry. My fiance's Canadian."
She did not do especially well, all things considered, but Shangri-La was either holding back or he'd suddenly grown two left feet and gotten a concussion, because she bested him easily.

Babylon powered up in a flash of blue light and a gust of cold air, fur cape settling heavily around his shoulders. "Well, you're pretty fearsome," he said to Auriga, looking her over. It was interesting to see a senshi whose uniform wasn't all about being gorgeous and spectacular - but he could only imagine that it was probably something of a bummer for the fourteen-year-old wearing it.
"Anyway," he said, flicking his lantern away into the ether. He doubted that adjusting the moves to accommodate his weapon would be appreciated (it did not seem like it would be in the spirit of fair play).
Even with his weapon gone, there was a significant power differential. They'd only learned these specific moves moments ago, but Babylon was experienced enough in other ways that he could have easily beaten her and beaten her soundly. But that wouldn't be very sportsmanlike. So, gamely, he began the sparring match, trying to take it easy on her.
Sailor Auriga quickly proved to be a more than capable opponent. Despite her relative inexperience, Babylon was pleased to see that her technique was all solid and her punches were thrown with confidence and enthusiasm, and he decided to stop blocking, so she could see how much power she had behind her jabs. That was how she caught him in the solar plexus, knocking the wind from his lungs.
"Ow," wheezed Babylon, doubling over. "Hey, great job."

The violet light surrounding her faded, and Megiddo looked no more impressed with her partner now that he'd taken his senshi form than Keren had with his civilian one. His uniform suited him. It really did. For one thing, it made her no more inclined to take him seriously.
"Yes," she deadpanned, vanishing her pitcher. "Let's."
It really did not take very long at all for her punch Neso in the face. "Oh, come on," groaned Megiddo, stepping back. "You're not even paying attention."
